Blind squonking with a chalice is no problem as it all goes back down immediately anyway. I squonk every other hit to make sure my cotton wick stays wet.

Squonking is not a problem in the Chalice, no. Blind squonking is, as the airhole in the cover prevents the proper suction needed to get the gurgle/pressure feedback that makes the process blind. You can kinda get it by covering up the air intake with your finger while squonking with a draw, but it's clumsy and still doesn't give you a true indicator of proper saturation.

The A7 is the blind squonker's rba.

Not sure why you need to draw with the Chalice. I only push on the bottle twice, a quick push then a 3 second push and the juice soaks up into the wick again. With the cisco atomizer, I had to draw while pushing to feel the pressure but not the chalice.

Yea Sonny. Mine may be at UPS store but I'm not making special trip; don't have time and they probably won't have it sorted and in my bin till tomorrow. So are you loving it? I'm loving the stubby DTs on the taller RBAs.

Hugs, Alice mom

I've never gotten the hang of just timing a sqonk - it changes too drastically over the course of emptying a bottle for me to keep track of. So, I take a light unpowered draw on the tip while squonking, and you can feel the pressure change and/or hear a wee gurgle to let you know the wick just got hit. At that point, you let go of the bottle and vape the world away.

The blind squonk has become automatic for me, like flicking an ash used to be, requiring no visual and very little conscious attention. It's real nice to have it back in a rebuildable.

Ok, got my mini and set it up.

The finish was just as shiny as the original A7. I ended up sticking it in the drill and brishing that shine off, just like I did with the original.

Washed it, secured the positive connector by Karen's condom method (Karen's method, not condom), and made the coil.

That's where I ran into the first difficulty. The same diameter coil (I wrap them around a toothpick) is very hard to fit between the posts. The distance between posts is a good 1.5mm less than the original A7. Sorry, I don't have the tools to measure exactly. As I only have 30gauge kanthal, I couldn't easily make a smaller diameter coil, or I'd end up with about 10-12 loops. So, tight fit.

Once I got my coil far away from the posts, everything went fine. Stuck my wick through it, put the ends into the atty cup. The cup is noticeably smaller, so less wick fits in there. Adjusted it closer to the air intake, put on the cap and vaped like crazy.

Conclusions:
------------
The original coil that comes with it is horrible. As in, soaked in machine oil

I think it looks better on the Grand than the bigger A7

It's a tiny bit shorter.

The outer shell seems to heat up very fast

As far as TH, flavor and amount of vapor, it seems the same as A7, which is a good thing

It does not work on a VMod. The diameter is too small to hold the mod's shell on. Bummer, since that's what I got it for. Oh well, now I can put my old A7 on the VMod.

Edit -- picture explanation, in order: big A7 on Grand, big and mini A7's side by side, mini A7 on the Grand, mini with coil and wick from the top.

Bravo all info you supplied. Many Thanks.... I was one of the lucky people to have heard about the machine oil in A7 so I boiled mine before using them.

i posted a pic for you mom :)

I just saw them. Thanks Sonny. They are really cool looking. Of course you don't have to use them for daily, but cool for display or for public viewing. I know, all too well, the comfort of Knuckleheads and some others. I'm using a TT on Black wrinkle right now and I'm loving
how it feels and tastes. People can only pin me down to "favorite" for a few hours.

Picked up my A7 Mini yesterday. Nice package. It really does look much smaller than it appears in pictures. I'm going to take them apart and boil the machine oil out before using. The A7s had a lot of machine oil in them. Don't know if A7 Mini do but not risking it. Scott I've used a flat head with mine that have Phillips heads. If flat head right size they work fine.
