I ran some measurements on my Vmax and lesser APV's yesterday using an oscilloscope type meter and what I found was the Vmax voltage did not drop under load (2 ohm coil) whereas all my other APVs (Egos & 510s) all dropped at least a half a volt when attached to a coil. Thats a noticable difference when it comes to the hit. I posted picks of the scope output.

Other forum members pointed out that the Provari also holds its voltage under load.

Here's my diagnosis

since Vavg is essentially meaningless in these buck devices for a vaper, and RMS voltage or wattage tells the real story, the Chinese should have replaced their Variable Voltage indicators with a Variable RMS voltage indicator or a variable wattage indicator

seriously though, this move was was incredibly stupid at best, or perhaps someone with philosophical inclinations playing word games with us

maybe the language barrier gave them troublez

That type of metering is not cheap.
A ten dollar meter can't di it.
A 30 dollar meter can't do it.

The eGo unloaded sends start up test pulses unloaded, can't adjust low enough without a load, unloaded voltage was obviously not a design criteria.
It regulates under load and sets the duty cycle in order to produce a preset output.

Not the same with a user adjustable duty cycle.
