As many of you know, I've been really struggling with getting off of analogs. This is week 7 for me now and although I've cut back analogs tremendously, it's not been good.

I had the strength right and found an ADV. Got it in different strengths but it wasn't 'enough'.

Today I got an iTaste MVP in that I ordered on the weekend. I have to say - if I started with this vs Ego 650's, I'd have been able to easily quit. What a huge difference! I know Egos are great for a lot of people but given I was coming from smoking 50 analogs a day, it just wasn't cutting it. Plus, the headache of always being PV-less while waiting for recharging got me to have more analogs than I'd have had otherwise.

Anyway, if you're struggling ditching analogs, the combination of the right PV/mod, the right juice, the right strength and hydrating is really the ticket.

The egos are great to have for a back-up, however. I never recommend the MVP as the only device for a person, because if something goes wrong like you forget to charge it, you might be caught without anything.

I started with Halo's Triton Kit (ego-style), but picked up an MVP for a backup and for all things 510 connected. The Tritons are great and was enough for me to stay off cigarettes, and I was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker like yourself. And I still use the Triton Kit daily as well as my MVP -- always great to have choices to keep the analog cravings at bay :)

I"m glad you finally found something to work for you. Don't forget to keep a rotation of juice that you enjoy that differ in flavor to keep the vaper's tongue away :)

Absolutely! I figured out early on that the voltage on the standard (at the time) mods wasn't going to do it for me and had to build a 5 volt. Couldn't stand carts no matter what mods I did on them, so took up dripping. Eventually the tech caught up with me so now I use a bottom feeder with an RBA. It's a journey.

I'm fortunate in that I can work from home (since I run the company) so the MVP is fine with the Ego as back-up. I am going to get something else with VV that is lighter weight for when I go out but in the short-term the Ego will be fine for that.

Oh I have around 20 bottles of juice and rotate out throughout the day. But having one atty with my ADV of choice is good. (Butterscotch!)

Thanks!

I wouldn't blame just the ego, the mod isn't what really makes the experience (though it does help). I can understand how you feel since I didn't really start enjoying my vaping till I got a good mod but the device and the juice as well as how you vape can make even a cheap device work well for you.

This, and only this, all day long.
:)

And this is also why all the studies being done come up short of capturing the magic.
Science just isn't able to cope with so many variables.

Just a short couple of years ago, most people would probably spend $500 or more until they actually found the combination that works best for them. Now that the kinks are really being worked out by the likes of my fellow vapers, it really will make it quicker, easier, and cheaper to find that perfect combo that gets you off the regular smokes...and on to your new life.

And to think i quit with V2s, im glad i just like electronic things, think that made it easy for me

I quit with v2 Sahara 1.2 on a stick battery in a cartomizer.
Thank God for them and I still revisit Sahara (tho no more cartomizers) juice 3 or 4 times a week.
This is why I don't fear any bans or taxes.
I have a stockpile of v2 batts (I bought out a guy who was giving up after collecting tons of 'stuff') and Sahara liquid bought at 30% off and stored in a beautiful humidor in the basement.
If that is all there ever is I can stay off cigarettes.
I guess it all just depends on each one's taste.
I'm an easy keep. LOL

Or until they gave up before they got there. And yes - people here on ECF have been sooo helpful for me. I wish every smoker would discover it! lol

Some gave up before they got there, but I'd venture to guess that 50% or more of those tried again later...when things became better. Or, at least I hope they did.

Hi Sharon. I'm in the same boat as you. I can't quite quit analogs yet. I just started vaping maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Started on the ego and learned quickly I needed more batteries and a bunch of other stuff. Finally just got everything to hold me over.

I do feel kind of strange vaping the eGos in public. I got some of the Kanger KR808D1s to use in public. I'm also hoping that the fact they are more like a analog may help me to actually stop using analogs. At home I need the battery of the eGo.

Just got a bunch of stuff to make my own juice. Still learning on that one.

I hoping at some point that vaping will be cheaper than anologs, and I'll have everything I need so I'm less tempted to say f-it and go smoke a analog.

The right device is absolutely crucial, in my opinion. I managed to quit completely on my blu because I'm STUBBORN AS HECK, but not a lot of people can manage that. Most people I know who have tried it have just went right back to analogs. And that's why I've made a point to let my family try my rigs when I visit. If they're going to quit, they need to find what hits their happy button. If I can help them find it, everyone is a winner.

We'll both get there!

On cost side - well last week I hit 500$ saved in almost 6 weeks which is why I got the iTaste MVP. I'll be back to 500 saved soon. So for me, the savings is no excuse. I have around 10 atty's, one Ego (other died), the MVP and around 20 juices. I think next toy will be at another 500 saved.
