Pfft! The great side for me is the ability to hyperfocus.

Wow on your nic levels before... I'm doing 12 mg during day and 10 mg at night. Actually 2 days of 10 mg straight since I've been vaping one liquid for once. With 12 mg at night, have a hard time sleeping.

When did you use the patch?

I used the patch when i first quit, for over a month. I would put one on every morning after I took a shower and leave it on all day and sleep with it on. In the morning there would still be enough nicotine left in it to keep me going until I put a new one on. If you are really addicted to smoking like I was, it's a great way to go. just be prepared for some wild dreams at night.

The only problem with that is you might get nightmares. I kind of liked them, but a lot of people don't.

I kind of like those side affects as well ;) I've got insomnia problem and any thing that makes me sleep for 8 hours regardless of "crazy" dreams; I enjoy. I can deal with the zombies as long as I am asleep ;)

So far I have been self medicating with alcohol, benedryl, and melatonin...probably not a good thing but have been dealing with sleep issues for 30 years.

Yes, I used the patch and vaped at the same times. But I have been smoking for about 30 years a little over a pack a day. It's really hard to get off the analogs. It sounds like you are not as addicted to nicotine or analogs as I was, so maybe a step 3 patch in the evenining and just leave it on while you sleep. When you wake up, you won't have that urge to grab your vapestick as soon as you open your eyes :)

Since you only have it in the morning, you may just have dry mouth. I was tending to cough a bit when first vaping in the morning. Even when drinking water when I first got up didn't seem to help too much. I started using Biotene once at night and in the morning, and I see a difference. It's also been recommended here for vapor's tongue. It's a bit pricey but IMO it has been worth buying.

Wow. Well I'm coming up to 30 years soon (part of reason for wanting to get stinkies behind - before it hits that awful #!) and smoked 50/day.

I'm not sure about dry mouth. Since I started vaping and drinking SOOOO much now - I'm actually finding saliva production increased. I'll keep that in mind though! Glad it worked for you!

I should have been a little more specific. You may have dry mouth just in the morning which can be caused by mouth breathing or snoring when you sleep. It also can be caused by dry air in the room where you're sleeping.

Good luck and I hope you find a solution.

Again no doctor but I would probably ask one before doing so.

I quit successfully while using the patch on step 1 for 2 weeks twice. I failed twice when I went to step 2. I don't remember the nic mg per day but step 1 to to step 2 was too drastic a step for for me. May have been mental or it may have been nic drop but I think they need a step 1.5 to transition into step 2. Just my opinion.

Vaping is at least giving me the option of lowering my nic level gradually. It may be a 6 month or 6 year process but either way I can gradually decrease my nic dependency.
