I'm almost ready to make my first purchase from Mt. Baker Vapor but I have a few questions.

1 I need a good menthol tobacco flavor that's not too minty. Would I go with 555 Menthol or the American menthol?

2 How do the flavor shots work? Are they necessary?

3 I plan on using the juice in a Silo tank with Nautilus BVC coils. What ratio of pg/vg do I use to avoid dry hits?

i know this is a lot of questions but I have never ordered from them before and I'm a little nervous. My B&M recently stopped carrying my favorite juice so this is my first time ordering a juice without trying it first. Thanks for all your help, in advance:)

Im not a fan. The juices were horrid and the customer service was even worse than that.

Owner thought I was trying to scam a refund out of him when I was just letting him know about my experience so others didnt have similar problems.

I was thinking maybe it was bad batch or someone mixed something incorrectly until he went full on d-bag via email.

Avoid the white peach and pineapple at ALL cost. It tastes and smells like gasoline.

I don't mean to derail your Mt. Baker order but I don't know their menthol - never tried them. I would suggest trying The Vapor Room instead - they have a lot of menthols in their tobacco line. The only two I know are the 555 Menthol which is a strong, straight-shot menthol flavor. The Port Menthol (think NewPort) is more complex and has a tobacco flavor in the background. They use real menthol - not mints or wintergreen masquerading as menthol.

See my post here about how to work the best deal on a first time order: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../584061-recommend-vendor-me.html#post13698186

It would actually be even $2.00 cheaper through Sunday as shipping is 1/2 price this week.

This is a place where I wouldn't get extra flavor shots on a first time order - their flavor intensity level is pretty strong to begin with.

I don't know what to tell you about the BVC coils but there seem to be a lot of complaints about them not wicking well. (Or in some cases just not working well at all.) The higher you move up the VG level the thicker your liquid is going to get but you can only push this so far trying to accommodate the device. If they only work well at, say, 80 PG but you don't like 80 PG then it's time to try another device.

The pear and lemon bar have a bad taste as well. It is not exactly gasoline to me but definitely something akin to that. So far the only flavors that I can vape from them are caramel apple (which is pretty good) and Hawk Sauce (vapeable but will not reorder). All flavors have one flavor shot and maybe that's where I went wrong.

I mix most of my juice but I have ordered from here and there, and I've had good luck with MBV juice. I like and have reordered their moo juice, caramel apple, banana nut bread, thug juice and pear several times. Never got extra flavor shots and I get 50/50 mixes. It's some of the better juice I have ordered and I plan on continuing to order from them. $15.00 order gets you a free sample bottle, put in the comments what flavor, etc. you want for your freebie.

ive had the regular 555 and 1 shot. real good juice in my opinion but i cant say what the menthol 555 would be like. if your into fruity menthol vapes i would definetely suggest some thug juice. its good to get at least 1 shot but no more than 2. if you want a ratio with no dry hits, try some 50/50 ive got a nautilus mini that i run 50/50 in and ive never had a dry burn. hope this helps

I like the caramel apple as well. I got it with a flavor shot as I did all my juices. The pear, though, is not vapeable for me. How long do you let them steep?

I placed my first order with them a few weeks ago. I found their customer service to be extremely helpful. However, I did not like the fact that my order was missing an item and that my Moo Juice had something menthol in it. They took care of the mistake quickly though.

1 I need a good menthol tobacco flavor that's not too minty. Would I go with 555 Menthol or the American menthol?
I'm not a huge fan of menthol. Their menthol is pretty strong in the bottle that was supposed to be Moo Juice without any extra flavor shots IMO. It was most definitely very minty and heavy on the menthol with some berry type flavor mixed with it.

2 How do the flavor shots work? Are they necessary?
I ordered some liquid 50/50 and some 20/80. I noticed that in the 20 pg/80 vg ratio liquids; the flavors were more subtle so I wish I would have ordered more flavor shots in those. The 50/50 blends didn't require as much extra flavoring. I did order 2 extra flavor shots on the Albino Drake liquid that I ordered because a few of the reviews that I saw said it was a delicate flavor. I am glad I did because even with 2 flavor shots, it is a very light flavor.

3 I plan on using the juice in a Silo tank with Nautilus BVC coils. What ratio of pg/vg do I use to avoid dry hits?
The liquids overall seemed to burn pretty easily in my tanks. I did find that 50/50 liquids worked better. I have 2 cartomizer tanks and an Aspire Nautilus with the BVCs. I just can't vape them any higher than 4.0 volts without getting a burnt taste.

I got 7 total bottles of liquid in the 15 ml size and 3 of them were actually vapable, but the rest are ones that I will never use. I didn't find any that I would consider to be ADV for me. I won't go as far as to say that I had an extremely negative experience with MBV, but I wasn't overly impressed with their liquids either.

I've ordered a ton from MBV, and recommend them to everyone; especially those newer to buying juices. I've had great experiences with their customer service, so it's a bummer to hear someone that hasn't. I don't like all of their juices, but I've tried probably a few dozen...I think it's a great cheap way to find what you like. There are definitely higher quality places out there, and I've started ordering from other places lately- but you can't beat the price and variety. So the perfect start when moving on from a B&M. Have no fear.

On your question about flavor shots- I highly recommend getting 2 shots with any fruit based flavor. I read that in some of the reviews but didn't believe it, and wasn't as happy with their fruit flavors without it. But even Hawk Sauce, and Faux, were not nearly as good to me, until I did 2 shots. Note, taste is totally subjective, but I also use a Nautilus w/bvc's.

I think you'll enjoy purchasing from them, just definitely read those reviews on the site, and they'll help guide you more about what a flavor tastes like. Also, most of their flavors do require some steeping, so don't get impatient if it tastes odd right out of the mail. Read some threads about steeping juice. It's pretty important with places like MBV, as sometimes they just take time after you get them.

Also note- they always send you a free sample to try. So on the comments of your order, feel free to ask them for a specific one that you want to try. Best of luck.

I vape 40/60 PG/VG in my Nautilus/BVC at 5.3V with no wicking problems and no burnt hits.

Find a tobacco flavor that you like and add 1 drop of menthol flavoring per ml.

One of my friends started by vaping my DIY of all kinds of different flavors and adding either menthol flavored juice or Hawk Sauce to it.
Now he likes the flavors without adding menthol and likes Hawk Sauce on it's own.
MBV has a ton of great flavors and a few odd ones.
I tried a few popular flavors from other vendors (Suicide Bunny, Nicoticket, Steam Juice, Mad Murdock, 5 Pawns, Ginger's, etc) and most MBV is at least as good as any that I've tried.
I primarily vape my Flavor West DIY but still get Banana Cream Pie, Blue Moo and Hawk Sauce from MBV.

Read as much as you can about steeping because MBV is made fresh and arrives quickly. It will need steeping.

If you like high VG juices then IMO the best route to go is a carto tank. I use 2 hole pre-punched cartos from smoktek.com and they dont have any trouble wicking even the thickest of vg juices.

And this is due to surface area. Clearomizers, even the bottom coil kind dont have nearly as much surface area as a carto.

Putting a carto in a tank eliminates the dry hits and the pain of refilling constantly as well.

Outside of dripping and rba's you cant beat the flavor.

I must be seriously missing something. I let them steep for 1 week before trying them and then waited another week. I put them in an Aspire Nautilus Tank with a fresh replacement head in it. I put others in carto tanks - all burnt at anything higher than 4.0 volts. I didn't get any flavor at all from most of them, like lightly flavored VG is what it tasted like to me *shrug* The Caramel Apple had the strongest flavor and it actually wasn't too bad. The Moo Juice wasn't bad either. The Albino Drake would be amazing if it didn't keep burning on me. I really wanted to like them, but they're just not for me. I didn't mean to knock the company or anything. I was just trying to be as honest as possible about my experience.

It is my opinion that mount baker vapor totally sucks! I be tried a lot of their juice and was very disappointed.. I don't order anything from MBV anymore, as for about the same price, I get much better QUALITY juice from ITC Vapes...their juice is topnotch..and very affordable..

Zapped - I agree with you most of the time. I agree with you on the Pineapple. Totally opposite experience with their CS though.
I found their CS to be as good as the times I needed to deal with Pro-Vape or Wizard Labs. Outstanding.

I like cartotanks too. I use 2 hole Boge LR in Kir Fanis tanks and it's easy and reliable.
I also use an R91 and it works great with my 40/60 once I found how much wick to use.

OTOH - have you tried a Nautilus with BVC coils? It beats the everliving .... out of Protanks or vivi novas or whatever.
I get almost as much flavor out of my Naughties as my R91.

I vape like I smoked: mouth->lung I expect that straight lung hitters would have more difficulty with high VG
