So I took a stab at a forced patina for the hydro filmed grand with brass everything I picked up from the classies. (Thanks blue snake)
Started with the engraved door I got from rob, used a little silicone grease to cover the engraving, and Teflon tape in the grooves of the drip tip. Then ammonia from my neighbor, paper towels, and pink sea salt.
all set up, the ammonia I got was super strong, it nearly instantly darkened the brass;

About an hour in;

You can see the blue starting, I also had to turn and set the rm2 because the kanthal had sagged and it was touching the paper towel.

About 3 hours in;

The blue is really in full swing.

Now when it was done I had my camera ready and the silicone grease was an all out flop, no dice. But after some deliberation it all matched so nicely I didn't want to redo it. I might try again with a circles door at some point, because I really am set on that look but we'll see. So I shot it with some flat clear for a different look, I'm still undecided but i can always do gloss if I decide to.
here it is all done;

I quite like the matching look, I have an idea for the main body, but we'll see how I feel later.

Given the discussion in the other patina thread, I have to ask... this wasn't animal urine was it (or maybe from the neighbour him/herself)? :)

That's a whole other idea gone wrong. No he works construction clean-up and has some seriously nasty chemicals. The ammonia he gave me made my eyes water outside and the first picture was right after I set it all in there and put the lid on, maybe 30 seconds total.
