I gave up on the ecig a few years ago( felt like more nicotine liquid getting sucked into my mouth than a good vaping experience). With the new technologies being released into the products I decided to try n throw in the pack for the battery once again.

Ive been on the fourm a few hours now collecting info on possible set ups. I am a heavy smoker (pack a day) so the large battery/cartomizer/tank rigs look like the best option to me.

This is what currently has my vote:(i only chose this site because they sell a type of eliquid called "NuPort" which i hear is the closest taste to my brand of smokes, newports-so if there is a better retailer to buy form as well-please let me know)EGO C Twist Crystal Vision Replaceable Kit

few more detailed questions-is the viva nova/mini nova that great of a cartomizer/tank than the one listed there?-and is there any specific size vivi nova I need to fit the 1000mah ego -c twist?

what else do I need?

my lungs and myself thank you for any info =P

Welcome to ECF! I wouldn't base my decision on what e-liquids a vendor offers. What you may taste can be completely difficult. It's very hard, if not impossible for e-liquids to taste the same as a cigarette. There are also lots of different menthol tobacco flavors available and know there are other vendors who have "Newport" flavors.

ETA: I looked at the link and the kit isn't a Joye, which is fine, you just need to be aware of it; its also pricey. Try shopping around. It's such a competitive market that there are lots of sales and coupons.

One thing, go with a completely different flavor. The reason being, you don't want to be reminded of cigarettes because you want to distance yourself from the habit as much as possible.

I would recommend the following, its my current setup:
get one of these with the battery/chargerLambo Variable voltage ecigarette

Order a tank, like one of these:
E-Cigarette Tanks, E-Cigarette Clearomizers | MadVapes

Get a few of these for replacement cartomizers:
Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 3.0 Ohms, Single Hole

Get a drip tip and some liquid and you are good to go

how can you tell which parts are guaranteed to fit that specific battery? is there any cross-compatibility between brands? I do like the idea of the replaceable batteries in that "lambo" model for when they cant hold a good charge way down the road-and I am in no need to a small sleek model.-
would I need a "510" compatible tank for the battery and replacement cartomizers you posted?
is there any specific type for variable voltage ecigs?

While I have limited experience with hardware I can tell you what has worked for me and 2 other smokers in my house (wife and son) ego batteries and ressurector 1.7 ohm cartomizers in dct tanks, even tho the carto set up allowed us all to drop the analogs we have switched to the vivi nova in the last 45 days in efforts to increase the overall savings even more, and have been greatly pleased with the nova both in function and taste. Novas even allow you to save more with rebuilding the coil/wicks fairly easily. Would have to agree that the kit seems a bit high but only because the batteries are not genuine Joye. You could piece together you own kit and avoid the Chinese batteries, adding to personal safety and like longevity of the hardware. I have tested various atomizers, cartomizer, and a couple clearomizers, and as I have recommended to a few, buy a couple batteries, and a nova, and get several small samples of various liquids to test the vaping scene, I doubt that you will be disappointed, 2 cartons of smokes worth of hardware can go a long easy.
My wife and I were both over a pack a day each smokers for over 20 years, seemless transition for me once I found the right hardware and stoped struggling trying to make ego c atties work. The misses however talks often about missing her smokes, but holds strong to the vaping.

I have been doing alot of research on the Lambo, and it is SOLID, there is a guy who does a durability test on it on youtube, and his son or something hits it twice with a metal baseball bat, like he serves it to himself and sends it flying. And it still works after that. I would recommend going to myfreedomsmokes.com they have a mini lambo kit for 50 bucks, and they have lots of "clone" menthol tobacco flavors like kool, salem, newport and such. Just dont order your lambo before I order mine, if they're out when i order I will find you. And get a couple AW 18350s for it as well.

i agree with the flavor but not so much as a distancing factor but because there in no such thing as a close to a real cig flavor. everything i tried and there was plenty when i first switched led me to disappointment.

now as far as using a lambo for a first device even for a person trying to make a second go at ecigs i dont recommened either. if someone handed me a lambo, vv, lavatube or what ever you want to call it to make the switch i wouldnt have been happy. not to mention i have 3 lavatubes on my desk 2 with vivi novas(my favorite setup) and one with a DiD, as well as various egos/infernos and dct tanks

I was a pack every 2 days smoker and my suggestion is buy a lot of 10 ml bottles to try different flavors. I haven't been able to find a liquid that resembles anything related to a cigarette so your best bet is to find a flavor that is either close enough or a flavour you wouldn't mind smoking all day long. There are a lot of highly praised niquid vendors like Backwoods Brew, rawr ect.

Also expect to buy your juice separately from a hardware vendor... It's cheaper. I have a Vivi Nova and I think it's great. It perfectly matches my Apollo Stainless Mini Lava Tube (1.5 days of battery life). Not positive but the Vivi Nova mini is around the same diameter of the ego (get 2 batteries) and stick to 510 connections.
Good luck

510 refers to the thread size - so 510s will fit other 510s, except for battery/chargers. Make sure you get the charger that specifically goes with your battery.

a note i pulled form the mini lambo info:
*Note - not all eGo atomizers and cartomizers are compatible. Some products built by different manufacturers may not fit this device due to the bottom diameter being too large. If the diameter of the threaded end is larger than 14mm, then it will not fit this device. The Vision eGo Clearomizer will also not fit this device due to an inner lip that will not allow the inner threads of the clearomizer to reach the threads of the device.

will this still fit?GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA™ 3.5ml V2.5 REBUILDABLE TANK [gv-VIVINOVA-TANKV2.5] - $12.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

and which oHm coil head would I use since the lambo is variable voltage?

Here is a picture of the 3.5ml Vivi Nova Version 2.5 with my Mini Apollo SS. It should fit on the Lambo
uploadfromtaptalk1348636035726.jpg
Also make sure you get a Ego shorty sleeve as some people complain that they get airy draws using VV tubes with just the Nova

I use the 2.8 ohm coil (not sure if that particular lambo has the 2.5 amp limit) but definitely search recoiling/rewicking Vivi Nova's as it'll save you from buying new heads if you do have the 2.5 amp limit.

got my mini lambo in today(freedomsmokes.com sale) and the tank/ 3ohm single hole carts from madvapes..love it!-man this is such a better vape than the old cig style ones with cartridges i remember from a few years ago..need to shop for the perfect liquid(right now im doin roughly 75% of the 24mg "newport" and 25% of some 12mg "Marlboro red" and its nice but needs some tweeking-still too strong for the clouds of vape this produces) still but so far i cant complain-great little contraption! thanks for the great info and recommendations

I'm using a mini vivi nova on a JOYE eGo 1000mah twist with a 2.4 ohm head on it right now. If it's a 510 then it will fit the ego. From my experience. The mega nova which holds 3ml of juice is good for the ego also. (Little funny). Really I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker and the mini's are fine. But I do trade out with a couple of other tanks on other units depending on my mood.

If you plan on vaping for a while I'd invest in something that wont cost too much money to maintain such as a genesis style device.

I do plan on switching to a rebuild-able sort of tank such as the vivi nova. The 510 connection is a perfect fit on my current cart/tank- but the note from the vendor concerning some ego vision products not fitting on the lambo mini has deterred me from ordering the vivi nova. As this is my first tank/cart style vape rig I am fine taking it one product at a time. Once I get a better adapted to vaping and these 510 thread dual coil 3ohm carts I ordered from madvape run out-ill go for a vivi if I do indeed find out is a solid fit for the mini lambo( from the previous posts/pics it looks like the similar models are a ok fit).

one final question(for the time being):
roughly how much vape time/liquid should I be using one of these carts for before I replace it?
Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 3.0 Ohms, Single Hole

thanks again!
