Hey. I smoke about a pack a day of Camel Crush and randomly saw a banner advertising ecigs on thursday night. I consider myself a rather active web surfer and forum browser, but I had somehow never heard of these! At first the price-tag turned me off, but then I visited this forum and found a few other sites with much more affordable prices.

I viewed a few youtube videos and revies and ordered a TECC 510 Titan from Totally Wicked E Liquid thursday at 4am.

Still waiting for it to arrive, browsing the forums here a ton reading some tips and tricks. I havn't ordered any juice yet because Im not sure what I will like, and really ordering liquid from places I havnt researched kinda makes me wary.

Is there a "generally" most affordable place for these 510 models in terms of replacement batteries and atomizers? I live in Wisconsin currently and am looking for an affordable place that can ship to me within a day or two. I am unemployed currently and even 1 pack a day is taking its toll on expenses considering its almost $6.50 a pack up here ($200 a month), not to mention I feel like crap lately every time I smoke.

Will test this out when it gets here, and if everything goes well will be looking for a good juice provider and replacement parts for the 510.

Another question, if I get like 5 extra batteries and atomizers and carts, is that essentially 5 complete ecigs?

I'm new to this e-cig thing, too, but I think I can answer last your question: Yes. A PV consists of the battery, an atomizer and a cartridge for the juice. So you have essentially bought 5 PVs (Personal Vaporizers). From what I have read, though, atomizers tend to fail after a while, batteries run out, and the 510 is a "juice hog" (heheh) so you are definately better served by having all those spare parts around. Once you try it and find you like it, I would suggest more prefilled carts or some juice to refill the carts you have. (I'm a little unclear on how to do that, going to ask how in a new thread tight now)
Hopefully, one of the masters can answer your questions better than this newb =)

I checked them out. Are the parts for Joye and TECC from TWEL interchangeable since the name is the main different part?

I will need to order juice fairly quickly since Id rather not switch back to analogs right because I ran out. Seems like most of what they have is 20+ MG which seems a bit high to start with, I will need to look into mixing my own to cut that down if I got it from there.

Is there any "general" best juice site out there with all the accessories for mixing etc your own?

All of the 510s are interchangeable. And definitely buying juice to refill carts yourself will save you money. I've gotten juice from a number of places and all have been good. I look for the best prices and then check out the forums for that supplier to see if most folks are happy with the service from them. So far I have gotten great service from everyone I've ordered from. Check out the suppliers section of the forums and pick someone that has good reviews from customers. A number of them have sample packs available so that you can try a bunch of different flavors and then reorder larger amounts of the ones you like most. If you get one you really hate stick it on the classifed section, chances are that someone else loves that flavor and will snap it up.

Few more questions, I think I was taking in about 22mg a day with what I Was smoking, if I want to vape more often than I did when smoking I should probably go with something weaker.. I was thinking of getting a 24mg/ml liquid and cutting it 50% with VG and trying that.

Any input from people who exercise, if they find themselves more able to after switching to ecigs?

Order something that you will be familiar with. If you used to smoke menthol, get it. Or regular tobacco flavor, get that. I would say to hold off on getting some of the other flavors until you are comfortable with the device and a flavor you like. Keep in mind it might take a couple of days before you "taste" any flavor. This is the time your taste buds might take to adjust to the flavor of vapor.

Another question, if I get like 5 extra batteries and atomizers and carts, is that essentially 5 complete ecigs?

Yep.

Refilling carts; remove the cart from device. Flip over. Drip liquid onto white filler material. re-insert into device. Enjoy

I ended up ordering some liquid tonight after all. I didn't want to run out of the start kit carts and be stuck waiting. Went with Tobacco of 36MG along with a Menthol flavor for mixing, and some PG (I know I can also get VG from walmart)

I kind of want to cut it down to like 9mg to start to be "safe" and not over do it. I have a feeling I will vape more at my computer at home where I am ~ 12 hours a day, than when I have to go outside. If I mix up a 5ml bottle cut to 9mg I figure I can vape 2-3 ML and be about where I was on cigarettes.

Can I cut it down by doing something like 1 part PG 2 parts VG 1 part 36mg and go with that to start?

Does anyone notice that they started out vaping more than they smoked normally? Mainly how many _ml of juice did/do you vape.

One of the "D'oh!" moments I had at first was when I realized that an e-cig really is just a battery and atty (plus cart) even though I had watched 30 YouTube videos before purchasing. I think they do a good job at marketing "kits" which makes you think there's more to it than 2 $10 parts.

So far I vape way less than I used to smoke. I used to smoke a carton of Marlboro Reds a week and I only use about 15-20 drops a day. Today I went to the grocery store, best buy, and wal-mart and 2 drops was plenty for all that. Normally I would have had about 4 cigs for that trip. But maybe the more you do it the more you get into vaping constantly.

Got my 510 yesterday. Started with the 8mg liquid, a bit weak. Im on the 11mg stuff now and it seems to be about right. I was tempted for a smoke a few times yesterday but after waking up not feeling like I swallowed ashes, Im not even tempted yet today.

If this isn't a miracle product for quitting smoking I dont know what is... will update in a week after I get more liquid and can say how Im doing then.

Oh, and vapor? the 510 billows the stuff!

Bob,
There are lots of great youtube videos for pretty much everything a noob (like me) should know about making juices (which I do now!! :D), using teabags for cartridge wicks (which I do now!! :D), and lots of reviews of premade juices and other stuff. Also, threads in this forum...just search around! Google is also good for finding how-to's.

Have fun exploring, learning and vaping!
Kurt
