Hey guys this is my original post from the New Members forum:

"My friend came over just a few hours ago and showed me his new e-cig. It seemed extremely interesting so I decided to get more info on these things. After an hour I have decided that I would like to own an e-cig as well. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with my following questions, much appreciation:

1) Where can I find a list of e-cigs with highest recommendation?
2) Can one use the [refillable oil] over and over again after a thorough cleaning of empty cartridges?
3) I live in Canada, and I've searched up the news about these e-cigs but that was only dated in 2009-2010. Has there been an update so far for 2011?"

As there have been replies regarding joye/ego/riva, I was wondering which Canadian companies have the highest recommendation. Thanks!

an ego kit is a good place to start cause your not limited to atomizers as much and it has a long battery life ,as far as atomizers go there are lots of options from lr 510 ,510 lr306 ,306 , cartomizers carts with filler , tank attys ,xl attys all ca be used on an ego so its just a matter of trying different things ,as far as nic juice is a bit of a problem read the forum a bit and you will see what some of the new law changes are and challenges to new vapors

Joye Ego is a great starter e-cig. It's more like a pen, but trust me, you'll want the extra battery life. I'm a few weeks into my vaping experience with it and I love it more than I ever liked smoking.

There are many different kinds of ecigs, and they all suit different people differently. If you want something that looks most like a cig, a 510 or KR808 is a good way to go. A 510 is probably preferable due to the customization options - the battery will fit a lot of different atomizers and cartomizers. A Joye Ego is great because it's battery is longer than a 510 and it will fit most if not all 510 atomizers plus the actual Ego and Ego-T atomizers. Then you have "mods" which are for the more experienced crowd. They are customized e-cigs that may have options like variable voltage. I wouldn't worry about those.

Almost all cartridges are indeed reusable. Some are easier to clean and refill than others. The Ego, Ego-T and 510 cartridges (can use all three on an Ego battery with right atomizer) are all super easy, cheap and last quite a while. You may as well get a "drip tip" too when buying your kit. You may find that dripping the ejuice right on the atomizer gives you the best vapor and taste. I actually don't care much for it - I find it a bit strong.

As for the news... well yeah, there's been no news because we're essentially at a stalemate with Health Canada. They take issue with the sale and importation of ejuice with nicotine. No worries though, there are still some Canadian sellers and importing the juice usually makes it accross the border.

As for the juice it self, it's not oil at all. It's made up of propylene glycol and glycerine (vegatable glycerine). You can get different ratios, but 100% PG is very common. I think most people like a mix. PG is harsher, VG has more vapor and is smoother.

PM me if you want some Canadian links.

Thanks again guys, I've narrowed my search down to just 2 sites:

1) Electro Vapors

2) Canadavapes

They both have very similar 510 kits but I was just wondering what is the difference between a manual battery and a automatic battery? Does the manual last longer?

Looking into the American e-cigs, I came across Blu. It has really caught my eye and for only $10 more, they provide a very sleek and stylish covering case. Is it possible to obtain this product in Canada?

I've also read up on getting blue foam from Blue Foam for Electronic Cigarette cartridges but I'm not sure if they're a legit supplier. Can anyone confirm this, or better yet, tell me where they get their blue foam? :)

Thanks again guys!

I have a KR808. I have both manual and automatic batteries. With the manual I find I get better control of the amount I can vape on. I find with the automatics there is less control and I tend to get a more "air filled" vape.

My auto batteries only last for about 3 hours (I am a heavy vaper). Where as my manual ones last for about 8 hours.

Never ordered from either of those places myself but lots have and seem to like them.

I would stick with either a 510 or eGo to start. Easier to get accessories and help if needed. If you are a light smoker the regular 510 could be right or you. You will likely vape about twice as much as you smoke to start to get over the cravings and the 510 battery will only last 1.5 - 2.5 hours under any sort of regular use. It also takes longer to charge then an eGo. Most people end up getting a PCC which makes it cost about the same as an eGo in the end.

Manual has a button you press when you inhale to fire the atomizer. Automatic is much like a smoker where you just inhale to activate it. One of the drawbacks of an automatic is it has a hole into the battery and you can kill your battery if juice drips down into it. Both last about the same amount of time.

I picked up some blue foam from Big Al's which for $8 is enough to last me a long time. You can cut it yourself, I prefer a highping type cart mod with the blue foam. However a lot depends on the thickness of your juice.

Do you know of any suppliers in Canada? I've checked out every link in the suppliers tab and none of them have a KR808 or KR808D-1 (I'm not sure if they're the same). Maybe they are under a different name, but that doesn't seem like the case. :(

And thank you for your view hotone, it just makes the 510 seem a lot more appealing!

I got my original starter kit from ecigarettescanada since then I ordered the manual ones from happyvaper and am awaiting clearomizers from gotvapes.

I'm really still trying to find the best combination of products. I'm really starting to dislike the cartomizers with the stuffing as I seem to be burning the stuff really fast as I vape for 10 minutes before putting it down.

If they don't work out I will be trying out a 510 type as it seems that there is a lot more selection out there for them.

electro-vapors will definitely look after you...I haven't dealt with canadavapes, so I can't say. Manual batteries tend to last longer and are less vulnerable to being damaged by possible leaking ejuice than auto batts. Manual gives you more control over your draw, as well. From what I've read, you don't want to go with Blu.

You should scan the stickies in the new members forum...they will answer questions you didn't even know you had yet.

If you buy from an American site, your package may be seized at the border by customs. And don't get roped into the marketing that some companies down there engage in. The novelty of fancy packaging and cool lights wears off quickly and you'll just end up wishing you got a solid and well revered unit, like the Ego. 510 is good too, but battery life will leave you wanting to upgrade, or to get a second unit with more maH (milliamp hours - a measure of battery life). Not trying to discourage that purchase, just letting you know. Maybe get a spare "mega" battery for those nights out at the bar.

It's the same with auto batteries. Seems like a cool idea, but in practice, the manual is superior. My friend has an auto and it's frustrating to get a good hit off of.

I think a lot of preferences stems from why we enjoy smoking (beyond the nicotine). For me, it's all about the smoke/vapor hitting my lungs. If you really like having the smoke in your hand, a small 510 might be perfect. I found I didn't even care... I just wanted that "throat hit."

You can pick up the Ego-T Starter Kit at epuff.ca for $79.99 (at the top of the site click the drop down menu to change from French to English). That is the cheapest price I've found, and epuff.ca accepts paypal which is nice if you'd like to use a credit card.

First of all, I'd really like to thank you for showing me such an awesome website. I checked out their 510 complete kit and I was amazed at the price. There's one thing that I have a concern for though, they did not list anywhere what the mAH on their battery was. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Just torn between:
Ensemble Ultime ePuff 510 - Noir
and
eV Custom 510 Manual
now :)

id get the kit with the pcc at happyvaper . i belive the mah is 120 and the mega may be 20 or 280 i cant remember ,
the only thing with the smaller mah is that you wont be able to enjoy LR atomizers or cartomizers which makes a very big difference , i thought i had o have a small cig like device when i started and within a month i had switched to a joye ego with a LR cisco attomizer
