Well, this came out of nowhere.

We are both 27 years old and have smoked ~1 PAD for the past decade. Neither of us have ever tried to quit, but we planned to quit a few years down the road.

Tuesday, my husband bought a blu disposable at a gas station for the hell of it; just thought it might be fun to try an e-cig. I tried it that night and bought my own on the way to work yesterday (Wednesday) morning. I enjoyed it in my office but also still went out for smoke breaks and smoked analogs during the day. I spent some time reading the material on this forum and decided to buy a "real" e-cig after work.

I smoked my last analog on the way from work to the vape shop yesterday afternoon.

There, I purchased eGo-T (upgrade) batteries, Clearomizers, and some delicious flavors. Since vaping on the way home from the vape shop, I haven't wanted a cigarette at all.

My husband smoked his last analog on the way home from work yesterday afternoon.

When he got home, he vaped my other set of eGo-T+Clearo all night and loved it. He brought it to work today and hasn't smoked a cigarette. Now, he's at the vape shop getting his own set.

Wow. We didn't even try.

We were a time and place discovery of the e-cigs. My wife just happened to see someone smoking a chrome tube at a Harley dealership while they were looking at bikes. After a few questions and they seemed happy with the ecigs. The next day my wife got a couple ego kits and the rest is history. Will never go back to analogs again.
Thinking if we had of stayed in the store for 5 more minutes we never would have known about ecigs at all.

Sometimes I need a cigarette, and nothing else will do (sometimes I need the anti-depressants in smoke), but I'm also an accidental quitter. I forget to to smoke most of the time. It was the darnedest thing! I just enjoy vaping, an it scratches the itch, if that makes any sense.

The best thing about being an accidental quitter: no pressure. You didn't mean to do it, you're not on a mission, and you don't feel like a failure if you have a cigarette. If you keep the experience positive, without all of the baggage of quitting, chances are you'll be very successful and happy.

Congratulations!

My wife stopped when i did too - it doubles the initial outlay - but i'm not sure i'd have managed it alone with someone else still smoking in the house. Besides, you soon recoup those costs.

Best of all is when your sense of smell returns (or maybe not!). We both have a number of different devices now - we have always preferred different things and different flavours to each other - but we both only vape now. She smoked since she was 14 - a pack a day. I smoked 2 packs of Reds a day for 30 years.

We both just decided to give it a try is all too; i had tried and failed so many times before i was not going to load up everyone with expectations. Best of all, for my workmates, i did not turn into a mean, grumpy and short-tempered annoyance - well any more than usual.

Keep it up and well done.

Same thing happened to me, I was walking past a kiosk selling VIP ecigs, they let me try one and it was just like 'Hello you are my best friend'. Bought a starter kit, loved it, realized that buying juice would be cheaper and have more choice, so I bought an eroll kit. never looked back

Same here bro!

I bought my e-cig on the monday, my birthday. By friday i had a 2 person kit, by the following Wednesday i was diying my own liquid. 30 days later i had my vamo :) Funny thing is my mum never planned to quit, she said she would try it but i didnt have high hopes. 1 month later and neither of us have looked back, she hasnt touched one but i still have a couple in a night of drinking.

Congrats.... mine is somewhat of a similar story.... bought a blu kit impulsively after seeing someone else buying a pack of the carts.... had no idea they were sold in stores.... I was doing some research on them and was turned away from the fact I had to buy them online and had issues with verifying my age and address.... as son as I bought them, analog usage was cut in half, at least.... not intentional, I just wasnt ready to quit.... the more people urged me to quit, the more I smoked.... after having blu for about a week, quitting analogs seemed possible and somehow the wife cinvinced me I bought the blu to quit analogs.... another week went by, I ordered an ego c twist and had my last analog on a day that usually had me smoking two packs.... got the ego in the mail later the next week and I havent wanted an analog since the last one.... out of habit, I thiught of buying a pack and bumming a smoke here and there, but even with a dead battery and no way to charge it for hours on occasion, ive been analog free for 37 days now....

Not to hijack the thread....
If I didnt buy on impulse, I'd still be happily smoking and wasting money on them....
