It would seem that I have accidentally quit smoking. :)

I didn't buy my DSE901b for that reason. I bought it so I could get my nicotine hit in places where I couldn't smoke (particularly the train I'll be going up to Scotland on for Christmas. 6 1/2 hours without a cigarette was a painful thought.).

However I appear to have quit smoking with this too. A couple of days ago I was on the analogues all day and I felt really horrible in the evening. My chest was heavy and I just felt weighed down and my mouth tasted awful.

I threw away the cigarettes I had left, and I've only had a couple of minor pangs for it since. My e-cigs (especially the flavours I've got with my Kissbox) just taste so much better.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

A lolcat addiction is nothing to be ashamed about Kate. :)

Same thing happened to me! I had zero intention of quitting when I got my first e-cig. Like Kate, I just thought it was an interesting gadget. The first day of use I smoked 5 real cigs instead of 30. Continued like that until I got some stronger nic juice. Haven't had a real cig now for 2 weeks. Not trying to quit at all! Just preference change. All the potential benefits are just icing on the cake. People who know me are in shock.

Yikes, same here Lurker--in fact, my original plan (before I got the device) was to "cut 4-5 cigarettes out of my 30 a day habit."

If someone had said "You're going to quit real smoking completely within 1 week of getting that thing" there is NO WAY I would've believed it.

(In fact, I was reading this board before I plunked down the money to buy one, saw the various people here claiming to have quit smoking & I thought "that will NEVER be me, never!"

You can add me to the batch of those who never thought they'd quit with the e-cig. For me it was just a hope that I could cut down a bit, "smoke" inside while working and use it before meetings and such so that I wouldn't stink to others. I actually fully expected I would get it...find it laughable and send it back for a refund. I NEVER expected that I would actually stop smoking with it. I have been smoking for over 15 years and was at a pack a day. I've tried gum, patches, Zyban...everything except the Chantix (and I have a prescription for that which I never filled because that stuff scares me). I have never been able to stop for more than a day or two with any of those NRT's and each one of those days was a constant struggle when I did try to stop. It has been just over 3 weeks now since I got my e-cig and in the meantime I've tried about 4 or 5 times to smoke a regular cig and each time couldn't stand it. After a puff or two I had to put it out. As Kate said, this thing is just a little miracle!

Another one here who had no intention whatsoever of quitting, just happened without me even noticing it until I realised after a few days that I hadn't had an analogue for a while and couldn't even figure out exactly when I'd quit smoking them :thumb: !

Been off the analogues for about 5 1/2 months now and no cravings for them at all, I much prefer E-smoking. This is after 25+ years of smoking (just before quitting I'd managed to cut down to about 15/day). The E-cigarette is a great invention as far as I'm concerned !

Cheers,
Silver

I still crave normal cigs (even with 36mg juice), but I think my big problem is just associating the things I don't do with the e-cig that I do in my normal "smoking routine" (lighting it, going outside when at work, etc.).

Well, I haven't totally given up cigarettes yet, but I often go outside at work with one or two colleagues to smoke, armed with my ecig AND a normal cigarette. I have always returned with the cigarette unsmoked. I am always surprised. It's a bit weird, but good.

Add me as well :) I never had any intention of giving up my beloved cigarettes but have not had one now for nearly 3 weeks and don't really want one either. I suppose after 5 months or so just got out of one habit and into another, funny really. But it is nice not having to go out into the cold anymore and it tastes so much better.

Well, I fell off the wagon today. I've had a couple of analogue smokes today on the way home. I'll settle for that though. That's 2 cigarettes in 6 days. Considering I was on 20 a day that's a big improvement. I even got a hint of the flavour I got from my initial cigarette all those years ago. I never thought I'd taste that again!

I've removed my ticker from my sig, as it doesn't apply any more.

Well, I fell off the wagon today.

Don't worry - you felt like smoking tobacco and you did, that's all. No crime has been committed! Tomorrow you may well want to vape all day instead. Luckily we're still in a free country and you have the right to make adult choices.

I've noticed that I'm vaping less than I did - but luckily I'm still tobacco free.
