Problem: When I click Reply with Quote the first time on a thread its fine..I get the quote in the box I am replying too..but then when I go to do it again for another reply when the box comes up it still has the quote I replied to previously and the new quote...so I have to delete the previous one first. As the fun goes on I end up having to keep deleting all the previous quotes as they just keep accumulating. The only way I have found to stop this is to go back through the thread and remove the check marks of all the posts that I have quoted.

Sometimes it does not do this..but most times it does and its extremely time consuming and annoying! I belong to some other forums also and I have never had a problem with this. I use the latest Firefox browser and keep cookies...cache and overall computer cleaned up every day.

Is there a setting or something I am missing here on the forum? Does this happen for other people??

Thanks in advance!!

I've had some funky things like this happen to me lately. I don't think it is just you.

Yeah, I have heard others had the same problem also.

I haven't had any issues with Firefox 3.6.1x on Linux. I honestly can't think of any reason it would do that. I'll poke around and see if I can duplicate the problem.

Thanks.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.13 without issue. An update came out ,which I haven't downloaded, on 3/4/11 vers. 3.6.15. Is this your current version?

Any add-ons? When did the problem present itself?

I did a search at v bulletin and didn't find anything related to this issue.

I have 3.6.15 also...this has been going on since the big forum update last year..I have tried disabling the addons but a lot of times it doesnt happen even with the addons running. Its like something is not turning of the check marks of the multi quotes after one use.

I am going to try and duplicate the problem with this multi quote now...so ignore the double post

Man, I can see why you'd be annoyed.

Since it started at the forum upgrade, it sounds like Angus or Roly will have to help you.

I'm curious to what caused it????

Could be a cookie issue. Have you tried flushing out your cookie cache?

One more bit of info might be helpful to the eventual problem solver -- Do you have another browser on your machine and does it quote properly?

Also - operating system and version and 32 or 64 bit?

I have IE8 but I have not used it since FF came out....nor do I want to. Like I said..no problems on at least 3 other forums.

I run XP Pro SP3....32bit ...yep..its an old Dell 8400 3ghz.

Could be a cookie issue. Have you tried flushing out your cookie cache?

Yep....but even if it was a cookie...then I would have to keep deleting that cookie throughout the time I was posting on the forum right? That would be the same as having to delete the quotes.

I use IE8 on two different machines (work & home) & "quote accumulation" occurs on both. Has been the case since I membered up in October. Intermittently, the option appears in the Preview Post screen to clear the previously accumulated quotes, but not always.

Is that an IE8 thing or should I be seeing it also?

Now they did after the last post and I clicked reply with quote for this one...this time I didnt have to delete quotes....it is random.

Oh..and another thing that happens since the forum upgrade...when I click to go to a page the progress bar goes almost all green then stops..then I either wait for a long time or click it again to get it moving again.

I had that problem - but I have a new load of FireFox with the no-script add-on and have had very few waits. (allowed e-cig....forum and yahooapis via no-script)

And just to add -- You said you have FireFox set to automatically clear the cache but have you rechecked your settings and the options available as demonstrated here -- How to clear the cache | How to | Firefox Help

Did you check out the info here?
