I like a tight draw too. I admit the sliver is very small how I like it and it's not particularly easy to get it where I want it and a PITA considering I take the cap off every time I fill the well. But it can be done. This is another reason why I turned to the Achilles because it has a screw on cap and there is no fiddling with air re-adjustment every time it is filled.

Ditto that, on threaded rather than o-ring topcaps -- the main reason I haven't given up yet on my Magma, and probably will even go to the extreme of trying to mod it with those 12ga needles, whenever I remember to order them. :D I never can get o-ring'ed caps on straight, the first time, and end up exercising my profane vocabulary before I finally get the stupid things on.

O-ring caps are definitely a PITA. No two ways about it.

My Achilles II landed in my mailbox ending a 36-day wait but fulfilling my expectations. No-frills packaging (big surprise, huh?), but it's an object of beauty that distinguishes itself from the V1. I coiled it up (28AWG, 10-turns, came in at 1.7Ω), and like the V1, the flavor is deeply saturated with a dense, almost cream-like vapor. The big change, of course, is the airflow adjustment, now a Magma-esque AFC ring with a single opening (gone is the set screw in the base); to my preference, it's a big improvement because—unlike the V1—there's an actual adjustable range. My clone, set screw in or not, was at the tight end of my taste in airflow. The ring goes from a draw too airey for me (way, way too airey for Andria) down to zero, but a crescent moon worked perfectly.

I'm not a fan of the drip-tip; it's a big-bore, cloud-chasing stove pipe, but I couldn't bear to replace it with a non-titanium type just yet. I will when MostlySunny's VaperRev titanium tips come in the mail.

She's a beauty! Like the cut outs in the top cap. Does the air ring stay put or does it move easily? Looks great on your Radius. You build similar to me. 10 wraps, 1.5 ohm.

Once it's been tightened down it stays put, does rotate freely—and very smoothly—otherwise. That's the other very noticeable difference between this and my clone, in that mechanical features, such as threads, work much more smoothly.

The body (less the air ring) looks a tad shorter than V1. What about well size?

Andria
Actually, they're not only in stock but the price has dropped to an unheard of €85: Atomizer «ACHILLES»

That's $90, which is a very long way from what I can afford. We need 2 new filters for our reverse-osmosis filter in our kitchen, and they're $40 each; we can only afford to get one at a time, because $80 is just too big a bite out of one paycheck. :( We also need a new filter for the water/ice thingie in our fridge, and I hope it's not going to cost too much.

Glad to see you folks have got yours now, it's a beaut, isn't it? Sure looks nice on that radius. Been thinking of getting one of those down the line, had concerns about that polycarbonate body....but other forum folks had written that it was a really tough thick material. How are you liking yours?

It's the best device I've ever owned. I've knocked it around a bit but it's none worse for wear; it's just a very high quality American made mod
