I really want to like CE2's; they do not like me. I tried a number of various CE2 cartos and had an overall bad experience even after trying to follow all the modding instructions. But I am trying again with this Acorn tank, I've had for about an hour now.

First I filled it up about 3/4 of the way and 1/4 of that immediate leaked out the battery connection although I was no where near the center tube when I filled it and also the liquid was below the cup. Since then it has alternated between flooding and dry hits. I made the mistake of turning it upside like you typically do with CE2's to stop the dry hits and more liquid leaked out the battery connection. The top is securely tightened. The rubbery bottom cap does not inspire confidence. Anyone have any suggestions.

I disagree, I use mine daily and usually have it in my pocket on my vv box, your leakage problem sounds like the air tube may be loose from the bottom of the battery connector end, next time it's low enough try pushing the air tube down by pressing the cup, a for the dry hit check to make sure the rubber plug that comes down onto the top of the cup is positioned correctly to allow maximum wicking, ive actually got my plug in upside down at the moment and it's working nicely only problem I've seen having it that way is if left upside down (whole tank) it leaks after a few moments. Hopefully this helps you with your problems, I know I love my acorn and only use an atty for flavor testing.

With it working properly I'm able to fill to the top of the black under the ceramic cup

Well I took it apart and reassembled it. Originally I think I was overfilling it, thus the flooding. The rubber plug above the cup is difficult to tell where it is in relationship to the cup, right now it is only as far down as my drip tip pushes it. It appears to be wicking ok until I start approaching 5v. I still wouldn't feel confident sticking it in my pocket. I haven't tried turning it upside again, I think it would probably leak and I don't want to mess with it anymore right now. Let you know what I think after I've used it some more. Suppose it is like many devices, you can't expect to pull them out of the package and start using them without some fiddling.
