I just re-read what I posted. Glad you got something good out of it, 'cause it reads pretty snotty. Sorry. I'm waaaay tired today. Just remember, what you get now won't be the end-all, so just get you something to get started, then you can adjust along the way. This forum moves pretty quick, so you can get your questions answered pretty quick here.

Sorry about the colors too. Last I checked, there were a couple more colors in stock. Pick up some cheap spray paint next time you're out, LOL. :)

haha ya sry wasnt trying to come off like that

Frosted, I've never bought a Riva myself as I've been using mods since way before they where on the market but have heard so many folks love them.

One of the first e-cigs I ever bought, coming up to 3 years ago was a DSE901 - oK it looks nothing like a Riva but I wonder if this pic of it will help you understand e-cig components a bit better :)

Cool! You're not going to get a lot of battery life or the best vapor production out of it, but it's a start! That's very similar to the one I first got at 7 Eleven. Some months later, I've moved past it, but that's where I started, and it let me know what people were talking about, and what I wanted out of this.

Congrats!!!

I just blow through it like a straw while holding a paper towel to the other end. Blow hard and blow until nothing else comes out. Then, assemble the battery + atomizer and put 3-4 drops of e-juice into the atomizer (where you see the mesh hump sticking up in the middle of it) and let that soak in for a few seconds or so. Then load up a cart (or use one of the pre-filled ones) and put that on.

Don't inhale the first few drags and by then you should have burned through any primer that's in there.

Good luck! :)

Reading this thread with great interest, I have a joye510 that's pretty new, but would like to step it up a bit, will miss the portable charger though...anything like that available with a longer lasting battery? I'm going out of the country for vaca & need to be ready to travel by April with the least amt. of work involved on a daily basis...should I start a new post? Is it not PC to jump on someone elses questions? Figuring out etiquette!

I am new and recently went through the same process. I would avoid the brand name companies in my opinion. I just bought a 510 and have been very happy - the eGo would give you better battery life though. I hear good things about the 808 - but I think 510 is most definitly a starting point you won't be disappointed in. I also bought a DSE 103 - I could send you one for free...?

I have 3 batteries and some cartomizers (atomizers and liquid in one unit) - so I can send you a battery with a cartomizer or two - just to try it out. I like the 510 better, though.

There are 510 mega batteries - at least an inch longer I think with 60% more charge, and a PCC for them and they use the same charger as standard 510 batteries. I recommend manual batteries. Vaporkings.com has a Mega 510 PCC with an adapter so you can also charge a short 510 battery in it.

Then there is Ego which is a fat battery 510 model with 6-8+ hours of charge. These charge too slow on a standard charger - they have their own faster charger you cannot charge 510 batteries on (may fry them). And I believe there is at least one Ego PCC.
