Hello from California –

Thanks to all on this board for your informative posts and opinions. I stumbled onto this forum while doing some research when my proprietary e-cig usb charger stopped working. In a panic I bought some disposable ones to help get me through the time it would to take to receive a new one. It was during this waiting period that I began to realize I didn’t even enjoy that fake little cig or the overly priced cartridges and that it was purely psychological.

The search was on! Before reading this forum I was a click away from purchasing an ego-c starter kit, which I’m sure I would of been happy with. But I didn’t want to end up with a device wanting more right out the gate. So after reading so much useful information here I decided to go with the ego twist (2 batteries), smoketech slim tank, LR boges, and some juice to get me started.

vaping some blue ridge from mov & loving it! I think I’m enjoying this waaay too much!

I’m going through like 15 – 20 ml of juice a day. Its like I can’t stop vaping this stuff…..hence my user name.

I just ordered some higher resistance boges, kanger pro tank and a few accessories.

Is this an addiction, hobby or both?

What do you all think???

Both, definitely both

In retrospect I have had addictive sort of tendencies towards most hobbies that I really enjoy.. video games, rc helicopters, video games, gardening, video games, motorcycles, video games, hacking my cell phones, video games.. VAPORIZING WHAT??

Yeah, what started off as a better addiction than smoking cigs has become a really fun hobby. I don't dismiss the cravings of nicotine addiciton it satiates. I'm on the fence as to whether I even want to plan on stopping eventually. I mean, I don't plan to quit drinking coffee.. ever.

I have fun using a whole variety. The only thing i wont do so far is anything high end that a cheaper solution wont do almost as well if not just as well. If i was wealthy id no doubt get a high end thing or two but definitely not a big collection. My choice in toys run to living things. Cats dogs and horses so everybody does it different. And ive always been a do it yourself-er when its possible so i DIY but i bought many different brans of premades and different flavors to learn first. I love the independance. To go shopping for something different to vape i just go to my DIY supplies and put it together. Unfortunately i dont bother keeping recipes or following them closely so when something comes out really nice i probably wont be able to replicate it! Like today Im on my last .4 mil of one that i love love and hopefully i can make it again. Yes a hobby and an addiction. I have drip tips i think are practical and a small variety but i finally bought one with a frog hugging it. The grog has roses for eyes, stars for spots and sparkly stripes down its back. Im 60! Im going to be mouth to mouth with this frog. Toooo funny. Cant wait until i get it

So far that's it

I have been able to restrain myself from buying some of the outrageously priced goodies. I just "graduated" from my eGo + clearomizer/cartomizer/vivi nova stuffs, which I really like and would recommend to anyone trying to get into vaping and out of smoking, to a SS VAMO V2 and an AGA rba. For less than the price of a Provari I have a great VV/VW mod, a great RBA, enough batteries to last me 2-3 days and a charger that can charge them faster then I can kill em.

I didn't really understand the hype of SS wicks and rebuildable atomizer units until about 2 weeks after I got my AGA, and finally got it set up correctly. Unless it turns out there is some hidden underlying danger to vaping I do imagine I'll be doing it for a long time, if even just occasionally.

edit - Faylool makes a great point about DIY. I haven't gotten into DIY juice yet but the independence factor is a big reason why I like rebuildable atomizers so much, aside from the epic vape tey can produce. Instead of swapping out atomizer heads or cartomizer tubes at a few dollars a pop once or twice a week I bought a couple big spools of kanthal, some 500 SS mesh in bulk and I have enough supplies to keep my RBA's running for years. Cheap to maintain and the supplies needed will be impossible for the gov't to ban or tax for no good reason.

I believe it is a little of both. I enjoy the flavors and just the act of vaping AND I like collecting all the different gizmos there are in this hobby. It is a hobby in that I spend ALL of the money I used to spend on my car into vaping equipment. I don't HAVE to have all this different stuff but I like buying it. Plus I ALWAYS will like stalking the mailman for my vape mail. I do believe that I do have an addiction to nicotine but that is 2nd on the list.

For me, it is definitely a little of both.

Every time I take on something new, I go a little overboard with the research and information gathering and can get a little ahead of myself. Here's an example: I started with V2's cig-alikes with their clearomizers and decided it was time to upgrade because they weren't terribly satisfying for me. After researching a bit, bought a Triton kit from Halo. BEFORE IT ARRIVED, I also bought a Tesla and now have a Provari coming.

At least I like both the Triton and Tesla (and I'm sure I'll like the Provari) - they each have their purposes and places and it's nice to have more gear to work with.

I'm still trying to identify 6 or so flavors to make up my ADVs... I've gone through about 40 different samples so far and have another 12 or so coming. I love having all the flavor options, messing with them, and taking a bit from here and a bit from there to find something really good/unique.

Having all the juices and different gear types lead to getting a large tacklebox (4 shelves with a top box) to store it all in and a few cases and some extra batteries and more tanks and and and and... oohh... that looks nice over there and...

And I love every minute of it :)

So, yea... both...

how is 15-20ml a day even possible i vape all day and barely push over 3

Maybe I'm a bit off but my Smoktech eGoDCT claims to hold 3.5ml , and I fill it 3 times a day on average, and puff on 2 boges throughout the day as well. So I might actually be closer to 15 mls.

I hope its much less. Does filler sponge up & dry up some of the juice, where I may be vaping less than I think?
