I heard some stuff about adding alcohol on e liquids, for throat hit, is it true?

Lets say if im wanted to raise my throat hit on 3mg 50/50 cigar flavoured liquid, how much alcohol i shall add on my 60mL bottle? What kind of a path do you follow in this situation?

In my country i we don't have Everclear as a brand but i have %97 Alcohol with me, its grain (ethanol) alcohol btw. Is it okay to use?

Thank you so much!

Many people include Ethyl Alcohol in their DIY Mixes. Both as a way to Increase (slightly) Throat Hit. But also as mentioned to Thin VG. And as a Flavoring.

High Proof Grain Alcohol is fine. For a Cigar Flavored e-Liquid, Rum and or a Whisky might also be good.

It's kinda Hard to say. It's like asking How much Salt to put on Eggs?

Some people like a Lot of Salt.
Some like a couple of Shakes.
And some just a Hint.

Adding Alcohol to an e-Liquid is a form of DIY. And the 1st Rule of DIY is start Low and Slowly move Up.

To Start, I'd put 20ml of your e-Liquid into a New Bottle and try 2 Drops of your 97% Grain Alcohol. Then see how you like it?

Well, ya learn something new every day. I would've never dreamed of mixing flammable liquid with my juice, I really only clicked on this thread to see everyone hammer on this person for even bringing it up!

I've got a few tanks that refuse to flow my max VG juice and I hate adding water to thin it, so those tanks never get used. Now maybe there's a solution!

DIY People who have PG Sensitivities many times turn to Vodka or Everclear as a way of thinning VG.

It's a tech that has been around a Long Time.

I'm in that boat: PG sensitive. I knew I should've spent more time in the DIY Juice section!

I'd think that the sugars in Liquors or Spirits would definitely cause issues with coils and wicks, so that would have to be weighed up and taken into consideration.

And if you're using a juice or liquid with Sucralose it may probably be better just using only Ethanol, as Sucralose by itself is more than enough to kill coils and wicking within days.

I add PG to my mixes to thin out the VG. I'm not into clouds, so that works for me. Ethyl alcohol thins with much less volume change to the mix if you are trying to preserve the VG component. Most of the time, I mix 50pg/50vg, but have vaped 70pg mixes in the past.

I haven't vaped anything with PG in it in several years. It seemed to irritate all sorts of things (throat/lungs, stomach, mild headache, sensitive/bleeding gums)

edit: About a year ago I added some PG to my juice to try to get some really cool little pods to flow. It worked great, but I could only take it for a couple of days before I was reminded of how bad that stuff effects me.

Water is free! (aren't hobbies supposed to cost you lots of money?!?):)

Actually, if I dilute my juice (with water) enough to work in my problematic tanks it just tastes off and isn't enjoyable to me
you should use distilled water (about $1 a gallon at my local grocery store) Some tap water has too much minerals (hard water) and also may have chlorine (does not taste good) Our tap water has both.

@vaper1960, really it should only be Distilled Water used as it's free from contaminants like the minerals you mentioned.

As could it not be possible for them to build up on the coil surface, and of course the mineral profile will affect flavour in some interesting ways.

I used Distilled water of course. I always have that around for my humidors.

And I couldn't agree more on the throat hit thing. When I think Throat-Hit, I think mild pain...screw that
