Adding throat hit with out Everclear

Tobasco yuck.. I've done it before. I thought it was terrible.. Everclear didn't work for me either.

There are a number of options though.

1. Diablo loco will definitly do the trick. If you run your atty dry you get a real strong burning/throat hit. I was mixing at 1 drop per 10 ml.
2. Other hot liquids such as PA jalapeno that's not AS strong
3. My favorite now PA Granny Smith apple a really strong flavor that is a little different TH try at 20-30% if you want to see what I mean. Also you could use PA pumpkin spice there's some kind of strong thing going on there also.

I only use 2mg/ml nicotine so I know what you mean about missing TH. Most liquids give me nothing besides these(and probably a few others I haven't tried)

a teeny tiny bit of totally wicked diablo loco will add good throat hit without changing the flavor. if you buy the flavor concentrate, it will probably be enough to last you until you die. Ive also heard people say the use TPAs jalapeno for TH.
I hope your right! I just ordered a bottle, can't wait to give it a try. I think I'm more addicted to the TH than I am to nicotine, I would love to step down from the mg's! Thanks for the tip!

Some flavorings have a good TH without anything else needed, like CA Gingerbread (Redgirl and I use it in most of our mixes) and Apple Pie. So there may be a molecule in the spice in those flavorings that we need to isolate for TH?

Maybe we should start a list with flavors that have TH?.. I wonder if it's the same molecule that's in PA Pumpkin spice. If I get a little in my mouth it's so stong it almost makes my mouth numb/hot in a way.

Dawn, maybe you could try that test again when your Riva comes. Maybe if it's dripped on the atty it might make a difference?

Richie, I will try it again when the Riva comes. I expected it today but it didn't come :-( I'll review again when it gets here and is charged. I didn't toss anything just yet, the Riva may open up a whole new world for me!

Definitely interested in this thread. I have heard that there is something called Koolada (menthyl methyl lactate) from PA that gives that cool feeling in the back of your throat, but doesn't change the flavor. I am thinking of trying this out sometime soon. I'd steer clear of capsaicin, it is an ingredient in OC spray (pepper spray). I have been sprayed with that stuff for my job and it sucks....royally. I'd love some magic TH juice. I tend to go with a 70/30 vg/pg mix. Any more and the PG affects me negatively, but no adverse side effects with this ratio over time. I can do 50/50 for a day or two and then to to go back down to 70/30. Most all of my juices have a better TH when used on my 5volt 510 usb passthru from Madvapes. Maybe I should consider a mod that is 5v's, at least for car use. I love the 510's size, performance, and price point.

Well...this is a troubling article (direct PDF version of study that was done) about capsaicin inhalation in humans (note web server): http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1986941/pdf/brjpharm00687-0110.pdf

Here is another: http://www.sffa.nu/Webbsidor/Abstract/2005_Ewa_Ternesten.pdf

They could be worse...but if you are asthmatic...have your inhaler and a friend close by the first time you try to inhale it.

According to the London study, asthmatic people had no worse a response than healthy people. It also didn't affect their lung capacity or cause any prolonged coughing after they were removed from the capsaicin. According to the Sweden study, the people it affected more in terms of coughing are those with sensory hypreactivity (SHR) and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and it seems they suggest using capsaicin to diagnose the condition. If you have those conditions you wouldn't be able to smoke at all or vape anything flavored.

I know in India a lot of people cook chili peppers and inhale amounts of capsaicin that would put anyone into horrible coughing fits. I've experienced it and there is even a word for the feeling in Indian languages. If there were long term effects, I'd imagine there would be a lot of information on it or at least a lot of sick chefs.

I heard awhile back from an old timer that vendors were adding vinegar to juices for TH. Don't know if they are still doing it. I sounds a helluva lot safer than hot sauce, etc. some ppl snort a vinegar concoction for sinus infections. Could give that a try. (not the snorting!)

another thing that i've noticed is a few drops of mineral water gives nice warm vape if the juice is too thick... working with a small 3 to 5ml sample.

So if anyone has a hit on this (also not willing yet to do pure pepper goodness on my vapes yet), as I am also on the search for a good cigarette style throat hit.

Just as a point of note - I've been vaping for over a year now - I don't remember what a real cigarette's throat hit is like! :)
Now it seems the 'worst' throat hits are from running low on juice... :-(

Yeah, same here. I'd say just go with high nicotine when trying to quit or the first couple months to 6 months. Nicotine is the best throat hit. Maybe go with 24 or 30+ mg.. njoy it : )
