We all know how difficult it can be when first stepping into the vaping world. At first it is information overload and in the end new vapers are all searching for the same thing simplicity, enjoyment, money savings, and good advice.

Sooooo...I was thinking perhaps we could start a mentoring program of sorts to help out new family members, take them under our wing so-to-speak and lend them our experience in a one-on-one atmosphere.

By sharing our experience we help them avoid many pitfalls, familiarize them with vaping terminology, show them how to limit their costs, and just add a helping hand for all of their questions. The forum is great, but at times I think so many responses can be overwhelming especially when there are conflicting replies.

I know I would have really enjoyed a mentor when I first started, especially one that was really familiar with V4L to get me started.

Perhaps a Adopt A New Family Member sticky which lists volunteer mentors....I'd be game to help out new members one on one. I don't know, what do you think?

It sounds like a GREAT idea!

Being new I often have questions, and really don't want to ask in other areas ( I feel most comfy here) but my questions aren't always V4L specific, and don't want to cross a line here either.

In fact, I took advantage of another thread here today to ask a question I have had a few days now,lol...someone else started the topic, and I felt I could jump in :)

I think this is a good idea in general, but you'd have to work out some kinks along the way, I am sure (like any relationship LOL). Maybe we could set an example for all of ECF, because it is REALLY confusing when you first get on this forum :)

Give me a year and I'll mentor...it will take me that long to learn enough!

At least you're honest with yourself dear.....lol....hence my needing to try everything there is to offer....I could only help with a few things:)......I'd end up driving Snow up the wall having to ask him everything first...lol

Umm yeah, my mentor was YouTube! LMAO!!!!

There is actually a ton of information on the internet if you do the research which is how I ended up here in the first place and YouTube has got some great demos. To be an expert in al things V4L is one thing but being an expert on the industry is another and not something I'm qualified to mentor.

I think the real objective of a mentor is simply "hand holding" and being a contact in those moments of need - that I can do and can certainly point them in the right directions for the help they really need. It's a wonderful idea! I was blessed to have found "mentors" in all of you in this forum and would love to return the favor on a more personal level <cheers all around>

And, Mary Kay, "resistance is futile?" I couldn't stop laughing :p
