Hello everyone, I'm glad to be a member. This is a quick question for advanced e-cig smokers.

I am an ex-trucker, that now works as a union carpenter in southern California and I am very addicted to cigarettes. Easily smoking a pack, sometimes two a day. I have purchased 6 different e-cigs since they came out, and spent a few hundred dollars on them already. I am sincerely interested in quitting smoking and only vaping but I have a slight issue. I frequent random job-sites in construction and as stated above have previous experience in trucking. I have purchased random, cloth wick type cheapo tops and mostly using fire-fly batteries. TKO vapor is a local shop around my area, and I have given that store at least 500$. As I sit here and write this, I have a fire-fly micro usb adjustable voltage with a typical PRO-tank II. At the time, it seemed high quality, a worth-while investment. I spent over 150$ on it because it seemed as a higher quality solution to trying to quit regular cigs.

Well, here is the bottom line. So far in what I have purchased, no matter how expensive, or promising, or whatever it is a FACT that they have ALL leaked, the atomizers ALL fail after about 3-5 days of use and are in need of a new replacement. I have directly asked my sales associates about the leaking, failing tops, and they all give me the same response that it is 'typical' of this item. Typical? Why am I spending over 150$ on something that is gonna sit in my car as I continue to smoke regular cigarettes? After a week? HA! This seems like a joke. I guess I am a sucker, but I am here to be educated. Going through maybe 10-15 different '30'$ pro-tanks glass-o-mizers, or whatever its all worthless quality. At a job-site, if anyone here can chime in they may know as I do these things simply do not last.

With no more rambling, if anyone can PLEASE direct me as to what to buy to aid in my attempt to quit, that will ACTUALLY last and prove its worth it is GREATLY appreciated.

Lets just say, money in any aspect, is NO object. I really don't give a ....... if it costs me $500-1,000.00

Heres what I'm looking for, and please let me know if it exists. Maybe I just have to wait longer until this business advanced more, but maybe theres something out there.

Real Simple:

-Leak proof.
-Atomizers that will last. I mean, hit like a CLOUD for a MONTH straight when I'm smoking it ALL DAY. LONG.
-Won't Shatter or crack.
-Cinnamon flavors? Doesn't matter the top is indestructible. Will NOT corrode
-Long battery life, last at least an entire 14-16 hour day without a charge.
-No wet fluids spraying onto my tongue after 2 days of use
-It can hang upside down, sideways, in my car, in a tool box, my pocket when I'm running a boom-lift whatever still works perfect.

I do not care about fancy tips, whether it looks nice, if its huge, none of that makes a difference. What matters is delivering the nicotine perfectly EVERY. TIME. Not just flawlessly, but in some of the HARSHEST environments.

If I buy another e-cig that leaks, fails to hit when I need it to, or gives me a nasty taste in my mouth of liquid spraying on my tongue I'm just done with this attempt and will smoke regular cigarettes until they actually produce a job-site grade product.

PLEASE. let me know if something of this TRUE quality actually exists.

I highly appreciate it, I do not have the time to research threads and study this, for I have to work 12 hr days, and don't have the time. I will check on this thread for any advice from a truly experienced vaper.

Happy smoking

-Joshua

If money is not an object then i would say go all out and get the "Best" proven APV. I know of one that is regarded very highly by alot of the vets here. And that is the Provari. Hits like a dream, tough, 1yr warranty, you can have one battery in it when it dies swap it with another ( batteries life depends on your settings, tank, and usage).

The other (and the one i went with) the Lavatube V2.5 from Volcano. comparatively priced same warranty, rugged anodized aluminum finish avail, same battery situation.

For a tank I would go with the Aspire Nautilus. (Or if someone has something more rugged in mind do share)

There are plenty of different setups out there and more than enough to fit your needs. We will try and give you the advice you need.

Another person off of analogs is another life saved.

Good luck with that. Atomizers use wicks. E-juice makes wicks clog. That is just how it is. I think you need to get your expectations aligned more with reality, or you will continue to be disappointed.

Changing the atomizer of a Protank takes less than 30 seconds and costs you $2. (And you can even clean and re-use the atomizers if you think $2 too expensive).

You might consider a Reo. Bottom-feeders are as simply as they come - just a box, a battery, a bottle of juice and an atty (plain or rebuildable, whatever you like). They are solid tanks, as in Sherman.

Obviously I love ProVaris, but you'll still be dealing with what's on top.

One of these: http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=8&Itemid=3

Something like this (it's not the best, but I've had no problems): http://rtdvapor.com/index.php/battery-chargers/nitecore-intellicharger-i2.html

A couple of these (they come in higher mAh, but I'm trying to keep the price down): AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh - Batteries

The attys below need a special sized drip tip: 306 Transparent Drip Tips - Drip Tips

Not top of the line, but the price is right. I've been using these attys for going on 2 years: Genuine Joye 306 low resistance 10-pack of atomizers

Add juice and you are done.

Welcome and congrats on your first post. You have quite a tall wish list, and not everything on can be realistically fulfilled.

First, duration. Battery MaH or capacity would dictate how long you can vape before switching out your battery, and you're likely going to have to switch yours 2 or 3 times per day with a typical 18650 battery on a mechanical mod. That said, you'd better have a charging solution to meet your needs, especially if you're on the road.

Next, nothing is really truly leak-proof. Genesis style atomizers can't be stored on their sides because they can leak. A Kayfun or Russian would be a great, consistent solution, but they aren't always gurgle or leak-proof either. Dripping atomizers can leak through their air flow holes if over saturated.

All atomizers require some sort of maintenance, whether it's changing a coil head to simply re-wicking. I've found it best to keep a few atomizers on hand, such as my Kayfun Lite Plus, a rebuildable dripping atomizer, and some cotton. I typically re-wick every few days, but YMMV.

All in all, I'd think you'd benefit from an MVP2 (or a DNA20/30 mod) and a Kayfun or Russian atomizer as an ideal setup.

In a word, no.

You're dealing with electricity, thin and fragile heating coils and--liquid that needs to be turned into mist.

You'll have to learn how to use the equipment properly, maybe watch some YouTube videos--I always recommend PBusardo; he's my favorite teacher and reviewer.

Having said that, if you get something very solid and rugged like a ProVari or Sigelei Zmax APV and top it with a ProTank 2 with stainless steel body instead of glass, you may come close to what you're looking for. Aspire Nautilus is a large (glass) 5 ml tank that should last you a long time.

But all vaping gear requires maintenance, coil cleaning and changes, charging batteries, refilling tanks etc. Vaping is work. :D

Hi

Real Simple:

Not this list.

-Leak proof.

It's a liquid delivery device. If it was leak proof it couldn't function. Let's skip that one for now.

-Atomizers that will last. I mean, hit like a CLOUD for a MONTH straight when I'm smoking it ALL DAY. LONG.

You know, this stuff does wear out and gets mucked up with use. We would all like that, but the current state of the art means replacing stuff as you use it. I might be able to get a stock atomizer to last an entire month - but not without cleaning it and not without the performance dropping off as it's been used over time. It is the nature of the beast - you are going to build up residues and wear kanthal wire out over time.

-Won't Shatter or crack.

For clearos, that would normally be plastic.

-Cinnamon flavors? Doesn't matter the top is indestructible. Will NOT corrode

And that would have to be glass, which is in conflict with "Won't Shatter or crack."

-Long battery life, last at least an entire 14-16 hour day without a charge.

That sounds like the iTaste MVP 2. About the only device out there with a battery that can last a typical user two days between charges.

-No wet fluids spraying onto my tongue after 2 days of use

If this is a ProTank problem it could just be "user error". Pulling on them too hard and running them at too high a voltage can make liquids spit up the mouth piece.

-It can hang upside down, sideways, in my car, in a tool box, my pocket when I'm running a boom-lift whatever still works perfect.

Like I said - this is a tall order.

A Reo Grand to mind. You are just gonna have to take a look at Reosmods.com to get an idea. The Reo itself is milled out of a block of aluminum. I wouldn't suggest running it over with a car - but you can. It's a self contained liquid feed system. Which means no exposed clearos - glass or plastic - to get broken. The only exposed part you need to be concerned about is the atty or cartomizer you prefer to put on it. Still, were talking about a steel/metal device instead of a glass or plastic clearo no matter what you choose.

Leaking? The design itself isn't inclined to do that. But if you just fed it (like I said see the web site), and immediately turned it upside down - yeah, that could happen. But not equivalent to dumping the entire contents of a clearo either. A small dribble maybe, not a flood.

BUT: You still aren't going to get a 16 hour day out of one battery. You will need to have access to at least one spare. And although stock (non rebuildable) attys or cartos last longer on this type of a system no one is going to guarantee you can get a month out of one either, at the very least not without occasional cleaning. It's a wire coil in there that gets heated hundreds of times per day. They do wear out and pop open and there is no way to predict when. Two weeks? Two months? It just happens.

The disposable attys or cartos have to be replaced when they are shot - no way around that. You can get a rebuildable Reomizer atty and rebuild/replace the coil in it yourself. But you have to be willing to deal with that as needed. Again, take a look at Reosmods for more info

Regardless it sounds like you were paying really high prices for what you were getting. Now that you have arrived we can find you some better choices. In the scheme of things a Reo isn't cheap, but look at what you have already shelled out on the lower end devices already. Depending on which version of the PT you have, you paid about double what they cost on-line.

What Katya said in post #7 is very true, and good advice. That being said, a VTR and the included Iclear 30s is tough to beat. It also works well with the Kanger ProTank 2, which will stand up to corrosive juices, but will on occasion leak, especially if the coil is getting old and beat. Not much fiddling with it, the coils last a LONG time, taste good, and vape well. The VTR is very sturdy, and the clearomizer tank is well protected in it. All in all a good set up for working, or if accidental dropping / abuse is a concern. It is a bit heavy though.

If you are so inclined, save the mods and rebuildables for home when you have the time to fiddle with stuff.

The important thing is be realistic about it; there is no such thing as an e-cig that is totally trouble free, it just doesn't exist. You will have to make some trade offs to get what you are after. That's life. The above set up is about as close to that as I can imagine, given your list of what you are looking for. Good luck, and welcome to ECF.

First, welcome to the forum!

Now, as others have said, this is a tall order! Then with you being new, it's hard for us to make recommendations without knowing your skill set and willingness to get into the world of mechanicals and rebuildable's, as there is more care and feeding required for them.
With that out of the way, I'm going to show you basically what is out there that meets your wants.
This is the only mod I know for sure that will live up to your demands, but it's big, doesn't have variable anything but it will run for 12-18 hours! The Big Nasty PRE ORDER for March 17th Like I said it's big, but durable as all get out!
Now for what to put on top of it, you want something that will easily last all day, here it is! It hasn't been released yet so I've no idea on the price, but it holds 11ml of juice! You will have to re-wick it weekly, but with a good coil it should go a long while between rebuilds.

I'm sure they will come out with a metal center tank section, so that eliminates both cracking and shattering issues.
Yes, this is a stretch for sure, but to meet the demands you are after, this is about as solid as I can suggest! This will meet the most of your demands, at least as close as we can get it right now.

Good luck, Josh! My advice is to ALWAYS have a backup with you, and you have already have bought enough equipment to do that. To put it in perspective, you most likely always take an extra pack of smokes with you, right? When the first pack is gone, you open the next! My shifts are only 8-10 hrs plus another hour driving, and only 3 times had battery not last all day (but have had several attys go bad). Because I've always had my backup, NEVER had to go buy analogs!

As others have said, your expectations are high (rightly so I think, this stuff should be worked out by now) and there is no "turnkey" solution for you. I don't feel right suggesting a mechanical mod to a new vaper, but the closest thing is a Reo Grand with Reomizer atty.

I would contact Reos Mods by phone, and have a good talk with them about what you are looking for. Then spend a lot of time on youtube learning about rebuilding :)

Wanted to add:
An MVP2 with simple rda such as an IGO-W might be the best solution. It's a pretty durable setup but still requires rebuilding.

Wow so many replies so quickly! I appreciate the help, and do have a lot of learning to do. As for the cost to replace atomizers as mentioned above, even at 2$ a piece, is not the issue. I could buy 50 of them and just swap them out every 3-5 days but it is difficult and annoying for me to replace SO often when I am having a nic-fit. I guess what I am trying to say is, I now understand the nature of these devices but with the hours I work, and the smoking rate I am at, there is very little time I have taking care of my home, and family, living my life and stopping for a 'rebuild' on my vape every few days. There isn't any time required for a pack of cowboy killers. I stop and get gas, buy a pack, and in 3 seconds I have a perfect hitting cigarette. The convenience of these cancer sticks is the HARDEST part when trying to quit. I love the size of that big nasty Russian in the video, and also don't mind the square type batteries either. I guess you hard-core vapers get 'into' this as somewhat of a hobby, and rebuilding, replacing and maintaining them is part of the kick. I get it. However, I am just trying to find something that is as durable, and will provide consistency similar to what a cancer stick offers. I don't need to order atomizers, fluids, batteries, tops, rebuilding or having to maintain a cigarette. Its just... right there. Smoke it. Do you guys hear kinda what I'm saying?

So I will defiantly look into the reos, and try to study up but my time is very limited and the last thing I want to do is blow more cash on something that I didn't learn enough about to only find that is fails my addiction again.

So I'll try to limit my list of demands slightly for anyone else who may have more suggestions.

I know how technology works in this world, and sure enough if I spent 700$ or something on the best there is, in a year or two EXACTLY what I need will come out.

Also, when I say leaking I'm not complaining about a drip or two on the side of my tank, I'm saying after a week at the job-site it drains right out of the seal 10 minutes after I fill it. I also am very gentle when replacing my attys and do not over-tighten the seals on the tanks. Slightly more than finger tight, just snug. I do not purposely TRY to break them, they just do. Ives been cautious but in my profession cautious is kinda hard to maintain moving 130lb sheets of drywall up scaffolding. I have also considered leaving it in my car, but we park so far from the job site it wastes 10 minutes of my lunch to even get to my fix. Again, thank you all I hope to find something to suit my situation. I will continue to study and review this thread as much as I can get to it, before my next big purchase. (and hopefully final)

Much respect,

Joshua

Although I love my Aspire Nautilus, I would recommend against that as a job site tank. My day to day is an MVP 2 with a Prokanger 2. It leaked on my first mod, which was a Smoktech BOLT (Which I will forever strongly recommend against anyone ever getting one.) Now that I have switched it to the MVP, no leaks at all. I am military, and tend to get pretty dirty/mods thrown around and have yet to have it miss a beat.

How rugged were your cigs and how much did you spend on them? They last about 5 to 7 minutes each. And get stale if you don't burn em to ashes.

Don't confuse the battery/power-supply with the delivery-device/topper/coil/head. There's a screw on em for a reason. You can change out the head all day long.

OK. That said, if you're a handy guy (and it sounds like you are) you MAY wish to plan on advancing to RDA type toppers. Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers are about as simple as it gets. YOU have to drip into them though. And YOU get to build the coil and replace it as needed. If that doesn't sound like fun to you....get a head with a tank that uses replaceable coils and try clearer juices...heads will last a week or two. Depends on the juice.

There's excellent advice above on devices too. There's just so much to sort through and so many options...you're better off reading up a bit. I know it's a pain.

I do wish you the best of luck. With patience, self-education, and perseverance you can rule this thing and kick the stinkies to the curb.

It honestly takes less time to swap out a coil than it does to open a fresh pack of cigarettes, and light one. Twist the old coil out, put the new coil in, vape. At least with bottom coil clearomizers. For a rugged BCC tank that holds a nice amount of juice (5ml) try a Hypertank. It's pyrex glass with a metal shell surrounding it. Love mine.
