I use the MVP2 with the iclear 16 and vape pretty regularly. I've been using the same coil head for over a two weeks with no noticeable loss in performance. Switching out the head takes 20 seconds (when you notice the performance going down hill, finish the liquid and quickly switch out the head so you don't waste anything. The iclear 16 has yet to leak on me (unlike any of my bottom coils) and functions any way I hold it as it is a cotton wick. While I know most prefer bottom coils, I am still a top coil fan.

In regards to filling it up, I fill two or three tanks in the morning (less than a minute). On my worst day fidgeting with this setup, I probably spend two minutes tops. On my best day, less than 30 seconds. Either way it is still faster than driving to a store and there is no head to waste the time to get a thing lit with fidgeting with a lighter. I probably spend considerably less time with prepping my vape than I ever did even on my best days smoking. The best part is the freedom. I never need to wait outside of a store/restaurant or bar to finish my smoke. I vape to the door, enter and then finish my vape when I exit.

I does take a little bit to get used to this lifestyle, but once you find what works, you will be shocked how quickly leaving your smokes will happen.

I'll quote this here again, just keep in mind, many of us have been trying to find what you want for years and are still looking!

OK Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, vaping isn't easy!! Lets get that out of the way right now! Many people find this forum and read about what we do thinking they can jump in head first and this is going to be the ticket for them, many times it is! BUT many times it takes a LOT of effort to find what works for them.

But what do I mean by this you are asking? Everybody raves about this or that working for them, why can't it be me?

Well, there are a lot of factors involved. Some people love clearomizers, I think they suck, nobody is right, nobody is wrong. I love 710 juice and it's all I want to vape, other people don't like it, nobody is right or wrong. Some people don't want to put the effort into rebuilding, some do, again, whatever works. But at the end of the day, you have to find what works for YOU, not me, not Joe Blow, or Susan Sammy, YOU and only you!

"But my buddy has been using this and loves it, why don't I like it?" Because taste is subjective! We stress and stress this, but it doesn't seem to soak in! I can vape a juice you love, you feel like you are on a beach sucking down a pinia coloda, but to me it tastes like orange juice. You may like to vape at 20 watts, but to me it tastes like burnt ....! But neither of us is right or wrong, we have different tastes!

Read some juice review threads, look at how many different tastes people refer to as the thread progresses, most people don't taste the same thing.

Read clearomizer reviews, some people love the taste, some think it's muted and other think it's burnt.
"So what's your point, Sawlight?" I can hear you asking, well, we can help guide you and tell you what works for us, but can't GUARANTEE what works for us will work for you! Many of us, myself included, have been through TONS of gear and tried numerous things and are still trying things, to find what keeps us happy! Many people find something that works right off the bat, then look to upgrade as they go. Others it takes a while to find the vape that makes them happy!

So, we are here to help you, but you need to be honest with us, what has and hasn't worked for you in the past? Why?

Most of us have our favorite devices, but are not opposed to recommending something that is more suitable for your needs/wants, whatever it may be! We just need you to be honest so we can help you move forward, not backwards! Please be patient with us we don't have all the answers right now, but we want to try to help you on your journey as best we can, so it may take a while to get the right choices for you! Even then they may not work!

If you find something that works for you off the bat, GREAT! I am so happy for you!

But if it takes a while to find it, we want to help and will try, but remember, it isn't always easy to find what works for everyone!
Good luck to all!

I'll leave recommendations to others but just a tip: If you are changing altitudes much on your journey, your clearos or tanks are going to leak or seap. I live in Northern AZ and its a problem. I just make sure I have tissue and a bottle of liquid and don't fill them very full. When you know you'll be changing altitudes, unscrew the topper as if you were going to fill and it will adjust the pressure and, hopefully, cut down on leakage.

I work construction. On the jobsite I use two 650 ego automatics, and take six 2.0-ohm cartomizers which I keep in a small Altoids tin. I use an ego sleeve to reinforce the carto connection. I use the holster from a mini maglite flashlight on my toolbelt. Helps keep the mouthpiece cleaner than putting it in my pouches. Comes out of the holster real easy, no button to find, can vape hands free, and can take a pretty good drop. Never leaks.

I smoked over 2 PAD, and this setup has been a great work setup for me. At home or in the car, you can use any rig you want. At a jobsite though, I've found simple is really nice.

Good Luck

For the "topper", I suggest a Nautilus. And, I'd pick up a stainless tank for it at Ebay. You don't have to re-build anything and there are replaceable coil heads. My Nautilus heads are certainly lasting longer than the CE4's or Protank heads.

The Kayfun variations are very suitable as well, except you will need a local brick and mortar store available to re-build the coils for you, or learn how to do that yourself. I'd look at that only after you have made the switch fully to vaping.

For "battery holders" Reo could be a very good choice for you, too. Just be aware that there is a learning curve to bottom feeders. You can pick up "stock" attys for about $2 each in some styles when bought in bulk and you don't have to build anything. These type of attys usually last quite a bit longer than the clearo heads you have been using, too.

One key to keeping vaping simple is having a back up.....similar to having a spare pack. It can also work well to alternate devices during your vape sessions, especially when we have a tendency to run them pretty hard.

If you don't want to mess with getting a charger and swapping out batteries, get an MVP. It might not be as rugged as you would like, but I think many have been quite pleased with them. Just know that you will need a new one in a few months up to a year or so.

My favorite out and about, just throw it in a purse, vape machine has been a Vmod by Vapage. It's a bottom feeder that is best used with stock attys. It's not as rugged as a Reo but has some other design features I prefer. #1 -- it has never leaked outside the case.....even when flying, where most set ups do. I carried a big one and a little one with me for about 2 years and didn't need spare batteries. The Vapage atty's usually last me a month or more of continual use, and I don't baby them. I watch for sales and pick them up at 30 - 50% off, too. (FYI -- most "stock attys" will work on a Reo too.)

It was a shock to me when I learned that my equipment would have to be replaced, so once I knew I was a vaper and not a smoker, I went the replaceable battery mod route. I still use my first mod and have acquired others along the way. Much like a pipe smoker, some vapers tend to like having a collection of sorts. YMMV.

I am a DNA fan, but I do not recommend a mod with DNA in it it for your type of work environment. IMHO it has state of the art mechanics, but I wouldn't want to drop one off a ladder.

And then there is the Provari. It is very rugged and very dependable variable voltage vaping tube mod that has even continued to work after being thrown out of a car window on a freeway & other amazing stories. Get the cheapest finish for the most durable finish, imho. If you want it black or a color get a skin....like carbon wrap or ostrich skin. (vinyl wrap). Get the regular size and an extension cap for use with the larger 18650 battery. Like another said, you may need or want carry a spare battery in a battery box with you.

My :2c:

Happy vaping. It is worth making the switch.

It honestly takes less time to swap out a coil than it does to open a fresh pack of cigarettes, and light one. Twist the old coil out, put the new coil in, vape. At least with bottom coil clearomizers. For a rugged BCC tank that holds a nice amount of juice (5ml) try a Hypertank. It's pyrex glass with a metal shell surrounding it. Love mine.

I really like that idea--the Hyper tank uses ProTank coils, is well protected and you can still see how much eliquid is left in the tank. And it's huge!

Cartomizers are also sturdy, albeit small. And you don't want to vape them dry or the filler will burn.

You might consider a Reo. Bottom-feeders are as simply as they come - just a box, a battery, a bottle of juice and an atty (plain or rebuildable, whatever you like). They are solid tanks, as in Sherman.

Obviously I love ProVaris, but you'll still be dealing with what's on top.

One of these: http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=8&Itemid=3

Something like this (it's not the best, but I've had no problems): http://rtdvapor.com/index.php/battery-chargers/nitecore-intellicharger-i2.html

A couple of these (they come in higher mAh, but I'm trying to keep the price down): AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh - Batteries

The attys below need a special sized drip tip: 306 Transparent Drip Tips - Drip Tips

Not top of the line, but the price is right. I've been using these attys for going on 2 years: Genuine Joye 306 low resistance 10-pack of atomizers

Add juice and you are done.

Yeah, a REO!!!!

I was thinking a VTR but then what to go with it; I don't think any carto tank would fit on the side of the VTR;only on top.

But a REO should fit the bill.

Phiniac or IBTanked make a carto tank just fo. the VTR, but with the stories I've been hearing of the battery door, I'm not sure how well it would hold u[ to the OP's environment,

The only thing I can think of would be something like the super T simplicity or ELA with the stratus for it....which replaces the top cap and turns it into a hybrid.....rebuildable dripper (but with a 1.5 ml juice well), air draw can be completely closed to help prevent leaking...all mechanical, stainless steel, rhodium plated contacts, Lifetime warranty including the finish...but you'll eventually have to replace the coil/wick....which can be done cheaply and quickly to your tastes...

I'm an ironworker...I've had the same super t device for 3 years...I've dropped it from 2 stories up, dropped it in mud, had it run over by a grade all...still working, and can be broken down and run through the dishwasher to clean....and this was before adding the rebuildable that just came out....which I firmly believe will make it more hassle free...

Well guys, I have become completely sick of smoking cigarettes and I am going to make the plunge into something I wanted to let ya'll know.

I have read up on RDA's and RBA's, and clearos and have ultimately decided to go with a Provari V2 w/ ext. cap and 4 of the large batteries. As for the tank, I'm going to what go with what someone here recommended the Aspire Nautalis.

I feel with the adjustable air-flow helping aid the gurgling, and the Pyrex allowing me to use different types of flavors, added with the great reviews I've seen, not to mention I feel that in my opinion in is a very attractive tank. I do realize most people dislike having to change out the attys every day, but I feel it is still financially cheaper than buying packs.

My only question that I can't seem to find information on is if I am choosing to replace the atty every day in the tank, do I HAVE to use the aspire brand attys and if not, do they at least make an atty head that is at least slightly better in longevity then the china ones? I'd rather spend 3-4$ a head than 1.20$ if it will last me 3 days instead of 1. I understand rebuilding them is a better option but I do not have patience to learn how to wrap them and I have seen that most people with little patience shouldn't get into RBAs.

Please let me know if there are any interchangeable heads for the Nautalis, or if the stock ones might possibly last me more than 1 day.

I've also learned that lighter color, thinner juices can help pro-long the life. I will try to find those.

As for the 2 year warranty on the Pro-vari I am sold with it. The tank is the last part i'm still questioning but for the most part Aspire has got me close to ordering it. In fact, I will order two tanks for when the first one breaks.

Thanks again!!!

Joshua
