This topic comes up monthly and you got the standard mumbo jumbo. Like you I was a non smoker who tried ecigs (although its a little different; I used to smoke). I expect in the future most young people (if they can read) will be drawn to ecigs not tobacco that is just the way its going to be if your brain is working.

Now to your question which you asked, I highly recommend the Halo G6 as a starter kit. Small like a cigarette but better than a 510 and Halo makes the best juice in the world.

Congratulations on choosing ecigs over tobacco.

I'm sure if you really want to start smoking or vaping you will do so regardless of what anyone says, but here are my two cents anyways...

I started smoking when I was 13, I liked the buzz it gave me, I didn't really believe it was as addictive as people told me it was. I am now 30 and finally off cigs all together. I can't even begin to calculate all the money/time wasted, damage to my lungs, how much I stunk etc.
In hindsight, had I known then what I know now I never would have touched one. Ever. Craving for a cigarette is the worst feeling ever and it takes control of your life and routine.
If you MUST take up a habit, vaping is safer IMO, but please reflect a bit, and decide if this is really what you want. If you can be healthier and richer and have no addictions, why start?

Don't start, seriously. My whole family smoked too - noticed the past tense - "smoked"

my grandmother had emphysema, lung cancer AND asthma when she died - not a pretty sight

Vaping is the the lesser of two evils here by far, but nicotine addiction is still a LOT easier to pick up than it is to quit - addictin specialists compare it to ...... and ....... in this regard

Don't start if you can possibly avoid it

It's simply a fact that from now on, more and more people will want to start up with an e-cig instead of a tobacco cig.

Anyway, whatever you advise somebody, there will be plenty of others telling you that you did the wrong thing. No way to win in this one.

That is for sure. I have smoked for 44 years. Started when I was 11. To this day I wish my mother had beat the tar out of me when she caught me, but back in the sixties it was not seen in the light it is seen today. I wonder what vaping will be considered 44 years from now???

Well, I guess we're bound to see it... Most people start smoking without any research, obviously, or they wouldn't start. Young people even more so as they often start secretly.

Based on a couple of the replies I saw, i'ts a peer pressure / fit in kind of thing - a few friends have PV's.

If you're going to start something, vaping is obviously a better choice than tobacco. That's a total no-brainer. But if you aren't already addicted to nicotine - you have no need for it. Vape zero-nic. No flavor? Not sure why anybody would want to, but it can be done. No liquid at all? Go for it. Burnt carto filler might be just your cup of tea. I hear it's an acquired taste though. Never did much for me or anybody else I know.

Times have definitely changed. I guess we should just be thankful that there is a safer alternative, and that we have a lot more access to information these days. But vaping as a gateway to smoking? OK, that one is totally whacked.

Starting smoking is by far the stupidest thing I ever did. It tops a pretty impressive list. If you ever met my ex-wife, you'd understand. If you wanna vape, and you're an adult, then go for it. Nobody can stop you. Well, except that it's illegal where you live. But I still can't wrap my brain around that original post..... Wow.
