Have you thought about a pod mod?
I was just going to suggest this.

$17.99 with use of code "ECM10" + S&H - these coils last forever, I have over 1000 puffs through the original coil and it's still flavorful as ever. This one also has double the battery life of the Vinci below.
    SMOK THALLO 80W Kit

    $8.14 with use of code "RVT11" + S&H
Vinci 40W Pod System - Voopoo

@AngeNZ Do you know of any other cheap reliable pod mods? Didn't you say you had the Vinci? Did it leak? Was it good?

What’s a mod pod? ATM my main worry is the the convenience of it combined with the longevity of a coil.

A pod mod is a kit where the tank is made specifically for the mod. It's proprietary. They generally come as a cheaper option, but aren't able to be used beyond having the entire kit and the specific coil. Some pod mods come with a 510 adapter (what a normal mod would have to screw a normal tank into), but neither of these tanks do. They will work until you are unable to get coils for them or they break. I can vouch for the Smok Thallo in performance/longevity, but I do not own the Vinci. If you are interested, do a google search for either and see what shops have them available to you. If you see other options, link them in here and I can tell you what I know about it either through experience or what I may have read in reviews. I compare everything I buy.

Is it best to get all the parts separately?
If you are expecting that you'll want to venture out and try more stuff, this would be the way to go. Pod mod kits are often proprietary. Non-pod mod kits (just regular kits) will state in the description if it has a 510 connector. These are open to be used with pretty much every tank in the industry that isn't proprietary. So yes, if you are looking to expand in the future, getting a regular kit or purchasing everything separately would be your best option.

Do you have a set amount in which you have to spend?

Haha I’ve only been doing this 5 weeks so my knowledge is less than limited. I’ve had a look at
Thallo-S 100W Pod Kit By SMOK.
I think it looks ok? But is saying it comes with 2 different battery types? I think I’m a little way off buying everything separately. Ideally just need a something that has a little power in it and that won’t cost me a small fortune in coils.
    I appreciate everyone’s advice

You are looking for just the regular "Smok Thallo". The "Smok Thallo S" requires an external battery. I don't think that's the best for starters, or what you're looking for atm. The "Smok Thallo" comes with a 3000 mAh Internal battery that you plug in via USB to recharge. It's also a USB-C which is the faster variant for recharging.

Hi and welcome - I'm also in the UK.

Your juice consumption certainly doesn't seem excess to me.

If you want a reliable easy to use tank - here's my two recommendations.

    1) Six years ago by chance I bought a Nautilus Mini when I was brand new to this game after more than 50 years smoking. I still have the original tank and six more of similar vintage - all are still going strong.

    2) Three years ago I bought an Innokin Zenith plus a few more as spares and also Innokin's Zlides. They have never given me the least bother and have had no blips deaths etc.

I am however Old School - I use plus ohm coils, use 16 strength liquid and run my devices at 8 -10 watts and am an MTL user.

MTL = Mouth to Lung - i.e I use mine as if I were smoking - draw, fill mouth, inhale exhale.

I buy my tanks online, get my coils from Coils Direct and buy my juice from 88Vape direct.

    Hope this helps!

I am a complete beginner, I have no idea what a rebuildable atomizer or variable wattage is

I think I need a super easy, reliable kit that I don’t have to put too much effort into, maybe I am destined to burn through coils

    Welcome. :)

Yes, rebuildables can be intimdating at first. But, once you get the hang of it, rebuildables are fairly easy too. There is forum just for rebuildables. You can find a ton of good advice there. People are always willing to help.

Now if you do go with a rebuildable, I would suggest the Brunhilde MTL. Easiest and most forgiving RBA I've ever used.

BTW, I went to an RBA because I like very sweet juices. For the most part, they're coil killers. And coils can be expensive. You can make a coil and wick it for about $0.10 per coil/wick. At that price, I'll change my wick twice a day or the second I get an off taste. That sure beats the $3 - $4 it can cost you for a coil.

It likely is. You guys, and the rest of the world, are getting hit pretty hard with vape regulations. You can always price compare with shops by putting the item in the shopping cart and going through the checkout like you normally would. When you get to where you enter your address, it will calculate the shipping cost. That will give you a price in which you can compare to other available sites. Also the link I provided, is a sale price - you're not likely to find that elsewhere for that cheap without a sale.

$20.59 with use of code "AGHero" + S&H - shipped from China. These G Series coils are in line with the P Series which I use in the Aegis Boost Pro and are extremely good. The reviews would also support their longevity and quality. This kit is also rated IP67 (dust/water/shock/drop resistant) and is MTL (also better for lower juice consumption).

This is all great advice, even though a lot of it has just gone straight over my head o_O
I’m in the UK so have no idea what that USD converts to.

Here’s one I have that’s very easy to use, and the coils are linked below Lost Vape Thelema Kit 80W 3000mAh 4ml Pod Mod Kit

I’m not familiar with your device so it may be that you could find better coils - I like the Thelema coils, and Smok Nord coils

I always break in a coil slowly, juice all the holes, then fill the tank and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. If the mid adjusts, I drop the wattage to maybe half and just warm the coil for a second. Then I do it again in a few minutes. And repeat. That helps the juice get all the way into the cotton so it wicks properly.
Then I put the wattage up a little each time till it’s where I want it. But you do need to let it rest so it’s not getting hot. And it may help to have more than one device.

    Hi everyone!
im pretty new to vaping after giving up tobacco (about 5 weeks)
I seem to be spending more on could than I did on tobacco. I recently changed my coil and it must have lasted an hour before it tasted gross! many advice would be greatly appreciated as I am looking longingly at the rizlas and filters!

I am using TornadoEX2, with a 1.2 ohm coil (same brand), I am prepping my coil as showed in the shop, never running down on juice, using a 50/50 liquid, the liquids I am using are clear. I do use it on the light blue string and not the orange setting?

the only other thing is am I using it too much? But what is too much?

I have currently just burnt through my 3rd coil in 6 days!!
Or is this just a rubbish kit ?
Welcome! I would look at NewVaping.com
They are a UK online store. If you are looking for something easy I would recommend the Voopoo V-Thru Pro. Very easy to use pod kit w/ good reviews. Looks like they have it in stock.

    Hi, @JenE !

Just a guess but the kind & helpful folks here may be overwhelming you a bit with lots of info & suggestions. Please don't be put off. i'm relatively new to vaping myself and can assure you that while there's plenty to learn none of it is all that complex. And just about everyone here wants to help.

Some folks here may have already reached out to you personally. If not, or if you'd just like to talk it all through with another (semi-)newbie, please send me a private message -- click on the user name under my avatar pic then click Start a Conversation. We can discuss where you're at and what you're looking for and all that, slow & easy. i'll share my relatively recent experiences and point to you info and/or to more knowledgeable people. It's up to you. Either way, the forum is here to help.

    Best wishes...

I'd be careful with SMOK products. They tend to have quality control issues.

As for rebuildables, they're definitely my preference, but I'm not sure they're what you want right now. You have to learn to build and wick your coils, which isn't too hard but may be more effort than you're interested in putting in right at the beginning.

I favour the recommendations above for:
    • Innokin Zenith / Zlide tank - if you want a kit (mod and tank together), it's offered with the Coolfire z50 and Kroma A, among other things.
    • Aspire Nautilus series - I don't know what kits are available, but Aspire's pretty decent so whatever you can find should be OK.
