I myself started with an xhale02 from 7-11 and quickly changed to an ego. The issue is my friends mother has to change to a e-cigarette since her housing community has banned smoking. She is for the most party totally blind, she can see a little but its bad and there is no way she will be able to drip or even refill her own carts. She wants something that feels like a real cigarette like the one I have from xhale02 but those are not at all compatible with any of the parts i see from retailers. Any ideas on a unit that is reasonably priced and easy to find filled replacement cartos for? thank you in advance

I would personally still recommend the Ego, or one of its many counterparts, and some 510 cartos, or even the Mega XL carto.

I have a partial sight problem, and which ever ecig you settle on will require some visual requirements, but if she has someone who could refill cartos for her, then without a doubt I would say that would be the easiest route for her to take.

To get one that looks like a real cigarette would mean buying a good quality disposable, but that would mean the cost would work out the same as for cigarettes.

Cartos tend to come in 901 or 510 fittings, so something like the KR808D-1 could be worth a try, and then refill the cartos by the condom method.

So, you would need to weigh up whether or not she could cope with changing batteries and if she has someone around who could assist with filling cartos for her, on a regular basis.

Considering your friend's mother's special needs, I recommend the Kr8. It is cigarette shaped (although a bit longer)* ... has the best battery of the e-cigs of that shape and size (true 3.7V and 280 mAh) ... and the largest selection (by far) of prefilled cartomizers. [I think highly of the newer advanced cartos, e.g., V4L's Premium and WOW.]

* There also is a shorter version, available from Vapor4Life.

I listed/linked most of the Kr8 suppliers in this May 2010 comparative review: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...st-electronic-cigarette-first-time-vaper.html ... the updated version of which is here.

Mistress Nomad provides a wonderful presentation of the pros and cons of the Kr8 and 510 in this video:

And, if you like the eGO concept with its high mAh, consider CigEasy's Kr8-based Elegant ($40 for a 750 mAh one-battery kit or $50 for a 1300 mAh one-battery kit).
