I'm planning to spray my KTS to matte black. Is it advisable to spray just the outer layer of the tube only? Will it affect the conductivity or anything else?
Advise on spraying.

As long as you stay out of the switch, the 510 and the threads, you should be perfectly fine. Rubberize it! ;-)
Be careful on the mid-section, as there seems very little clearance between that and the threads top & bottom: I've the silver/gold/silver version and the gold-colored midsection is showing marks from the threading after less than a month.

Yes..those thread marks are unavoidable. Any ideas of coating that could prevent it?
