Hey my squigglies

Ordered up one of those baby's and it should be arriving tomorrow.

Any of you experienced peeps have some tips for best performance.

I have only ever made one coil, and it was for my Pheonix with mesh, somehow magically got it bang on 2 ohms and no problems
so it was that success that made me decide to try the AGA-T.

Hoping tips from you all will help me go 2 for 2 for these rebuildable attempts. I basically need this success to deter the inherient laziness of me when it comes to vaping. :D

Hi Shades,

Im curious how it went last night. I just started using rba's a few months ago. I have 5 different ones but not the aga-t.

I found lots of different videos on youtube that helped me out. Lots of smart tinkering people. The one that helped me the most was Zen(Mike). He makes it sound and look simple.

One thing I did notice was that all the Genesis styles that I tried taste like poo for the first tank or so. After that the taste and vapor really improves.

I've been using 400 mesh with 32g wire. I use 100%vg juice.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Make sure you lean the wick into the centre post. Push gently whilst wrapping the wire and when making the centre post connection, make sure the wick is about 1mm from the nuts. Push the wick, dont pull it closer with the wire as this will cause a hot coil. When wrapping, you want the coils to touch the wick, not strangle it. :)
I have six AGA-Ts and some other gennies...I love the AGAs

All of the above plus

- oxidize very well. More on where the coil is gonna be and the part that touches the atty. Also, watch out for loose 'threads' at the edge.
- some people say don't let the wick touch the bottom of the tank
- be mindful on how tight you are wrapping the coil. I found that I was wrapping it too tight at the bottom because the wick is stiffer (being supported by the base). As I near the top where the wick is 'limp', the wrap gets looser.

As mentioned above
- keep the wire from the wick to the centre post as short as possible.
- start with a low voltage and work your way up. (Although I've seen people recommend 'pulsing' on full power until the coils even out)

If all else fails, you can try the cigarette paper or petar k technique.

Good luck!

Disclaimer: Not a pro - just a compilation of things I've read and tried when setting up a dud and zap.

nd cant say enough of how awesome they are, my wicks all last over a month and great vape and flavour...

lots of great info on this thread... what i have learned and dont worry about testing coils on the zmax just very lo voltage.

now i wrap my coils free hand around the ss mesh firm not too tight and at the last coil i go opposite way the top thread tightens as not to have it draw tight against but keep it within 1-2 mil.

now your probably gonna see top coil burn hot, thats ok rotate your mesh as it can short on the seam and use a toothpick to manipulate the coils even keep doing this until they all light up even ..ABOUT A MINUTE....if still having hotspots you have a short, gently rotate and pull mesh out and quickly oxideze with a torch and gently twist back in.. but prior give it a godd roll soo it fits

never fails

cheers

Hey all thanks for the wonderful tips. Sounds like the two issues I was having would be the tightness of the coil around the mesh and the length of wire to center post.

I was in no shape to attempt to play with it yesterday but hopefully when I get home tonight I can try applying these tips :)

If you want to cheat and get a great setup without a lot of tinkering or hotspots, get the ribbon wire. After getting some of this stuff I've had no issues what so ever with the AGA.

Coils & WicksTa

you want the last one - 0.6 x 0.10mm - 24,5 ohm/m ( this will give you a low ohm rating - 4/3 is around .9 and 6/5 is around 1.2 )

I got into them about a month ago...I have a Did Clone...An AGA T2 and an AC9. I have all 3 going great finally. AGA is the best out of all of them. I have 500 SS mesh burned with a bic lighter before rolling and thats it. 28 gage coil and 4 /5 wrap. It took 5 coils to get it right but wow is it right. It knocks me over how much vapor and TH. I have a Lavatube old school and just bought a VAMO tonight because of the flat top will make the AGA and AC9 look good anyway. Best advice is dont give up. When you get frustrated just leave it for a little come back to it and try again. Once you get it working there not a better vape out there. I have some Heathers Heavenly Tobacco juice and currently in vaping heaven...

Oxidizing the hell ot of the wick doesn't really do much, i can cook mine with regular lighter and it won't short ( this is how i've done my first one) The trick is to fold about inch of the mesh invard, so when the wick is tight you will get nice thin edge instead of this loose wire mesh end that always shorts. Quenching only hardens the mesh, juice burn is still under reserach ( i usually do one just to see how the juice flows the wick ). Make sure you don't touch the wick after you burned it, otherwise you will get that nasty taste that people report on th first tank due to oils and crap on your hands. Also oils slow dow njuice absorbtion into the wick. I'm still tryin to make true capilary effect wick, but i guess i reached the limit of my imagination :-( If there are any Genesis experts in Van area, who managed to build non gravity fed genesis please let me know. And if any noobs need help with their gennies, just PM. I think it would make sence to create regional genesis clubs with workshops :-( that stuff is insane .
