yes, these are some good configurations, all help to move the connection spot over. dont know size, but the washers should be a larger diameter than nuts. definately get a bunch of them , to make connection you need 2, one above wire one below. the springy thing looks good as well. though when my ac-9 came in i took them off, it seemed that the tension wasnt strong enough to hold wire. these gennys do take time.

Here is what I did...

Went to hardware store and bought a 7/64 drill bit. make sure you get one with a long solid area....little cutting area
Wrap your coil around it....tight.
Drop the drill bit into the tank, and hook up the ground.
Then take pliers and pull the coil tight on the drill bit... and tighten it down on the positive post.
Put your mod on low volts...maybe 3.7 to 4v and fire it for a few seconds.... let coils glow a second and turn off.
Do that maybe 3 or 4 times.

Then roll your wick. Test fit it into the coil to where it will fit...but wont just drop down.
If you tap on it....it will go down... that is a good fit.

After that... oxidize and put the wick into the tank.
Make sure to not put it in and scrape off sides.

Work out any hotspots...if any. Probably will get one on the top coil.
Drip some juice on it... work with it until its good.
Fill with juice

Might take a tank or two for optimal results, but this is exactly what I do and it works fine.
When my coils get gunked up.... I simply slowly remove the wick...and burn off the gunk with a lighter/torch
Then I fire the coils at low volts to burn off that gunk....
Then put the wick back in and its back to new....sometimes I will have to work out a hotspot...but usually not.

This is for an Aga-T, using 32awg Kanthal A-1 on a Vamo

Exactly what I have been doing, except for one small addition. At the top coil, between the wick and the top post, I use a small pir of pliers and put a little kink in the wire by squeezing the top coil tighter against the wick, With 30g Kanthal, I rarely get a hotspot at the top coil any more.

yes, the kink is important. any way you can have as little distance from the wick to the positive post the better. if the wire coming from the wick is just kind of looping around the side of the top nut, no good. sometimes as you tighten up the top nut after you have made a connection the wire will kind of pull futher away , like to the side of the nut, not good, thats if you wind around the nut clockwise. you almost have to come around the back of the wick with your wire and attach to the nut at that point, and as you tighten up the nut, try to keep the wire in that same position as you tighten it up, dont let the wire slip away with the nut as you tighten. sorry to go on, hope that this does make sense. sometimes i know what to say, but its hard to try to explain it so someone can visalize it. or some people wrap the wire counterclockwise, but this can make the connection loose as you tighten up the top nut. they both will work good,as long as the wire from the wick is attached to the top nut in the shortest direct line, kind of behind the wick, not so much on the sides.
