you can not just say aga-t is tasting horrible. there is a long list of things you have to explain about it. this is my experience with the aga-t from another thread. but after making it work the aga-t works very very good

My experience:
it took me a week to make the aga-t work properly. and i had to completely replace the screws with bigger head ones, had to replace the bolts with bigger ones, just to get rid of the top and bottom hot spots. i had to shorten the top cap to align the air hole to the coil, then bore the air hole, then bore too much, then close it to open a new one. shorten the cap again to match the new hole. then find the right rolled mesh thickness to wick the juice but not over wick it. then i had to try different setups with wick and mesh, mesh and cigarette paper, mesh and mesh, oxidized mesh on the outside and unoxidized on the inside and all kind of experiments. and still the same setup that will work fine today will sometimes give me problems tomorrow with hot spots appearing from nowhere or coil not heating properly

Hi bmar and Welcome to ECF.:)

First, if your coil glows from the top to the bottom and there are no hot spots on the wick you do not need to re-oxidize your wick. Sounds to me like it is a wicking issue but even so tilting should sort it out.
How much ss have you used to make your wick (the size you cut), and how many wraps of Kanthal have got on for the coil?

Are you sure you dont have a hot spot on the top leg of the coil between the top coil and the positive post? If you are positive you have no hot spot then it is most likely a wicking problem. try removing the fill screw and seeing if it wicks better. Sometimes ill plug the airhole with my finger slighty as I draw to create a vacuum and that will suck liquid to the top of the wick. If you get a good hit then then you have a wicking problem.

i don't have any wicking issue with my 400 ss. in fact i just need to tilt it very very slightly to have a wonderful vape. it takes some learning to make it work but in the end it works well.

op problem seems like a wicking issue which can be caused by not removing the opposite screw to let air into the tank or some hot spot somewhere.
