AGA T2 Extra Hole????

Hi there, I just received my new AGA T2 After watching a bunch of set up videos I notice that mine has an extra hole that I haven't seen on any of the same units. I was just curious if it was a recent upgrade or if mine was drilled incorrectly and they just stuck in an extra screw lol I haven't been able to find a pic of the T2 with that extra hole. Anyone else seen this???

That's how mine is as well. From my understanding it's there for when using a silica wick, not positive as ive only used it with mesh. You could definitely get make a uwick to fit also but I've never personally had the need.

Awesome thanks I just found it weird that none of the pics had it. I'm gonna stick to the mesh myself. Any recommendations on wire? I ordered a few gauges of both nichrom and kenthal to try out.

Looks different than mine. Looks like they added another hole. Why ?? As it is we don't need that one grounding setup they have on there now

I would like to use it on one of my mechs with a single 18650. I'm gonna guess in and around the 1.5ohm mark or lower. I used to use H357s on my mechs and currently using 2.0 cartos running around 4.5 - 5 volts on VVs. Im always searching for thick vapor with a fairly stern thought hit. 50/50 juice or 70/30 VG/PG

Good. Then I can recommend 28 and 26g Kanthal! 28 will put you in the .8-.9Ω range. (which, from what you said, is where you're going to want to be with the AGA). 26 is ideal for a 4 or 5 wrap @ .6Ω. (this resides on the borderline of wicking parameters, you'll need a very good wick setup; or a 90deg. gangsta' tilt, or both). A good .6Ω setup is (IMHO) unbeatable. (Remember, Nichrome is -1 in resistance to Kanthal; meaning 26g Nichrome = 25g Kanthal) Have fun!

I was thinking of punching out the negative post and using it as another wick hole. But haven't talked myself into it.

Don't hesitate to wrap your coil like an HH357, by the way. I works great on Genisis.



That's ↑ not as tight as is ideal for me. These days the wraps are in full contact with each other.

I'm trying a bamboo wick right now and I'm quite impressed with it. The u-wick & dual coil options have been wearing on my mind the past few days. Was apparently not content with a perfectly running SS mesh setup (still have one on my v1).

U-wicks are fun to build; but don't do it seeking Nirvana. (Seems kinda like Chlamydia; everyone's had it, but no one wants to keep it.)

Not sure, but it did come in the original package with AGA T2 on the front.

AGA-W best I know is the v1 but with pyrex, no knurling & a stainless center post. Was only released in Europe for a small window of time before the AGA-T+ & -T2 came out.

But if you order enough from Youde/UD they will customize them. I'm guessing the vendor selling these ones with the extra hole had asked specifically for it.
