Why increase the wick hole size?

Hey guys,

I recently got my AGA T2 but i haven`t gotten around to playing with it yet. I`ve noticed that many people are drilling out a bigger wick hole size. Why? Is a thicker wick better in terms of performance? Is it simply because the standard wick hole size of the AGA T2 is too small to work with. Your help is very much appreaciated!

Keep in mind rebuilding is as subjective as e-juice. Different strokes for different folks. Type of draw the vaper prefers. I personally like a 1/16" drilled air hole. It keeps the flavor there and it produces a bit more vapor. Also, thicker wick isn't always better.

I know everyone has different vaping styles and prefrences. But I am referring to the wick hole not the air hole...... Unless both do the same thing? But I don`t think so. I know that increasing the air hole will give you more air draw. But what does increasing the wick hole do?

Oops... My bad. In my experience a larger wick hole for gennys work better. More wick = more liquid fed to the coil = better vape.

The simplest explanation for me is that RBA users are tinkerers at heart, and don't like using anything stock.

On a mech mod the coil can get realy hot 25 watts or so so the larger wick allows more juice so the wick does not dry out and lead to hot spots

There was a post here where someone with Aga-T2 were using 4 1mm wick which had better capillary action than if you were to use an equivalent single 2mm or 3mm.

I personally use a single 3mm and have no problem with wicking in my T2

I drilled mine out for ceramic wicks, but it has worked very well with any type I've been able to fit. It gives more options for wick material IMO.
