Aga-T2 Help

So Aga-T2, I know. There are plenty of posts and videos. I have read and watched, alot. For the past week. I still cant get this thing to perform.
This is my first Genny. I mostly have rda's and Clearos. All of witch I re-wick myself.

Im using a K101, Efest 18650 (10A) and the AGA. 4 Wraps, 28 gauge, Cotton wick. Clocked in at 1.2 Ohms on my Fluke. Battery is fresh off the charger.

Im getting the hot spots, but in the middle of the coil. If I fire it for more than 3 seconds the coil glows. Which results in a horrible burnt hit. This happens after tilting and ensuring the cotton is wet, and really any time.

Playing with the coil just shifts where the hot spot is. Never seem to eliminate it. I didnt use alot of cotton. To me, it slides in and out (When saturated) decently.
This is probly the 10th coil I have made for this thing and I am just missing something.

Coil was wrapped using Petar K (5/64ths Drill bit) method, glowed amazingly on the test fire.

Please help. I want a genny for the portability of a dripper style taste to work. Tired of going from a dripper at home to a Itaste VV and Mini PT2 for work.

My diagnosis is you have the combination of 2 problems: the wick is not sucking juice up fast enough, and also making uneven contact with the coil. The part that glows is where the wick is not touching the coil enough.

You made a cotton autodripper. I prefer to use twisted wire, this way the power has two paths to travel and usually doesn't hot spot. but the drillbit method is the way to build your coils. I use the stainless mesh wick.

I think with twisted 30ga and 5-6 wraps you might get around the same resistance (you will have to mess with it to find the right wraps)

"fatter" might be a better description. You dont neccessarily need more cotton, just more fluffy.

Thanks guys, Warhawk, i just dont want to get into SS at this point. I would like to stick with Cotton or silica.

Kanj, how would i get more fluff without rolling more cotton? Do you think a new wick would help it?

A tiny tweezer pulling at the little strands of cotton may help.

Also, try wrapping the coil on a drill bit or the body of a qtip - anything to keep the coil shape. You want the inside surface of the coil to be as even as possible. This way the contact with the wick is obviously better.
