James, I'm not going to spend the time to read it. I've already read plenty of biased 'news' articles already. It is aggravating when people who have influence on the public see fit to spread misconceptions, half truths, and pure bunk on a story they researched with Google as their primary tool, and quote 'experts' who go on gut instincts rather than facts.

I drive a smart fortwo. 'nuff said.

EDIT: OK, I'll check the article out. Against my better judgment.

POST EDIT: My initial response was correct. Uninformed rambling for public consumption. "That thing is a death trap"

All "Associated Content" is written to the specifications of someone or some entity for profit by the writer. This was not written by anything close to a legitimate reporter, but by some Joe Schmoe clearly incapable of earning an honest living with an axe to grind.

*sniff-sniff* ...is that the FDA I smell?

I've written for Associated Content before. I'm only guessing but it appears that article was Search Engine Optimized for the keyword "FDA".

Anyway, I guess I will log in an write a sort of rebuttal. LOL Actualy, I'll prolly write a FEW rebuttals and place them in various places around the web. This may lead to a few strange sounding questions coming from me the next few days. For instance, even on the joyetech site, I've seen comments about strange or bad chemicals found in E-cigs. I'd really like to know What chemicals those were, who found them, and who paid for that research.

I only received my first E-cig ( a kr808) today, so I'm kinda new at this.

I wonder if I should make a new thread asking for what people most want the rest of the world to know about e-cigs or what points I should make.

Where does the FDA appeal on banning shipments of e-cigs to the US stand? I can't seem to find proper update. Also, one of the suppliers here is claiming the *FDA* has banned flavored nicotene on their website? Note, one of the reps from the same company mentioned ONE state banned flavored nicotene, and Johnson Creek is US based, FDA registered, and still in business.

*confused*

Thanks!

Very poorly executed hit piece.

That really ticks me off!! It seems that whenever your trying to do something good for yourself someone comes along and poo-poos on it!!

Yes, because you make certain assumptions that most decent people make. Don't get mired in the argument, look at the bigger picture.

The internet age has some downsides and one of them is content creation library sites. Anyone that wants to fancy themselves a writer or news person can write articles and get them on these sites. It's disgusting only when actual news sites or actual websites license that crap as filler for their website. Notice the moronic "how to tell the signs of a stroke" article on that "writer's" content page. Classic filler BS. They probably sit at home all day collecting unemployment checks and wondering why they can't "get a job in their calling of being a writer"!

Hiya :)

If you go to the CASAA forum here, then on to their website - it's our community association - they have some excellent resources there. Get the two PDFs on the real facts. The American doctors' association has backed e-cigs, and that fact should be better publicized.

CASAA has a lot of materials that will assist you to write a useful article. And a big thank-you from all of us :)

Was looking on the forum and apparently they are at it again, and it was asked to contact our representatives again

I'll bet they're referring to that nasty primer. Of course, you're supposed to wash your atomizers before you use them.... Just like you're supposed to wash your fruit before you eat, or your dishes after you buy them. Ya never know what sort of bug spray they're flinging around in the warehouse.

..or your booty after you poo. Washing. What a concept!

This, I agree with it also. Internet has its gems, but you have to dig through lots of trash to find them.

You know I find articles bashing e-cigs to be absolutely hilarious. If the FDA is going to do ANYTHING in terms of regulating smoking cessation devices, maybe they should take a look at other cessation methods, namely Chantix for smoking or Antabuse for Alcoholism. Of all the people on this forum, has anyone ever suffered night terrors or sleepwalking from their PV? Has anyone tried to break their neighbors door down, thus being shot and killed, cuz they had their 808 in their mouth? Bottom line is that e-cigs have not yet contributed to any harm for anyone, at least nowhere NEAR the harm analogs cause. Leave the vapers alone and go regulate the fat content of food at Hardee's. Shoot, obesity is WAY more dangerous than a little vaped glycerin.

I try to avoid reading pieces like these. All they do is piss me off! I end up sending an email telling my story but, I know I am talking to the wall so why bother. I am doing good where I can and try to avoid the ignorance. (I was interviewed on local TV news and have gone and had a long talk with my assembly rep - which ended on a positive note)

These kind of articles annoy me to no end.

When I started vaping recently, I thought I was doing such a wonderful thing - now the world would love me again!

But alas, I realize the world still hates me. I might as well be curled up on the street somewhere with a needle in my arm and a bottle in my hand.

(Please take this comment in stride. Sometimes you just can't win for losing.)
