Kristin Please do not give up your idea of "...someday vaping could be considered a valid and acceptable passtime in it's own right...." I think that's an excellent "long-term" goal and one I personally feel very strongly will prevail, again 'if' we are successful in getting this technology to be allowed to stay in the marketplace, in addition to further research, testing and quality improvement occuring. I believe that if we are successful then further testing and continued product improvement will demonstrate what we all believe to be true-that this technology is life-saving, that we are just now beginning to recognize the full implications and applications of it and Equally Important, that those persons and agencies who were involved in the campaigns of misinformation, fear-mongering, dishonesty, and political and financial gain were and are not only corrupt and unethical, but were, in fact responsible for unnecessary loss of life.

I hope so.

Here is the thing - I liked smoking. I like vaping even more. I like the feeling and I like the flavors. Sometimes I feel more like one of those wine connoisseurs, lol! I started vaping because it was cheaper and to still enjoy the act of smoking, but be around in 20 years to see my little girl grown up.

I look forward to a day when I can vape without having to justify using it just because it's "safer and healthier" than smoking tobacco. Does that make sense?

Kristin, that makes total sense to me.

My worry is simply that right now that's asking too much of a public that has come to view smoking (and perhaps, smokers) as a social pariah.

It's a shame, really, that in encouraging this kind of popular uprising against smokers, the underlying mechanisms that keep hard-core smokers smoking have never been dealt with. So smokers get the double whammy now - they feel like outsiders, and they kill themselves.

So, in my view, the most essential thing right now is to redress the balance - to say: "look, there are still smokers. They are not bad people. They do not deserve to be condemned to sickness and death because those in positions of power cannot see to it that every avenue is explored, every opportunity taken to move smokers to safer alternatives"

I would like to send my thanks and congratulations to Kristin for all her hard work and efforts in this effort. It is GREATLY appreciated!

I never had any intention of stopping smoking - EVER! I like and like smoking. My roommate smokes and I've got no problem with that. I switched because I liked vap'n better and I liked the money difference.

To me, this is a problem that BT BP and the government created. The Taxes just kept getting larger and larger because they KNEW that most smoker couldn't and wouldn't quite no matter how much the cost of smoking grew to. The government in particular was loving it. Then even they knew that it was getting rediculous. So they had to start inventing reasons to justify the insane taxes. So they started saying it was for the good of the country. The current phrase is 'Sin Taxes'. They did it to recoup the fed moneys spent on helping help that got sick from smoking, thus making smoking evil. All of that was and is a smoke screen to just keep sucking up more money from the population.

So currently the government sees the e-cigs come along and are in shock. The unbelievalbe is happening. People are giving up cigarettes, in huge numbers compared to before e-cigs. The government is beside its self at the loss of the cigarette taxes. So they do everything they can, without being honest about any of it, to get rid of the culprit.

If there wasn't enough to point out the hypocrasy of the government, e-cigs is the last 'coffin-nail' to do it.

The war on drugs, has not had any effect. The war on poverty has had no effect. The war on e-cigs will not have any results either.

Yes, we all need to do whatever we can to educate, and refine our 'message'. But the real truth is known to those that matter. We, that have discovered this wonderful device and use it to enhace out lives.

The more BT, BP and the government dances, squirmes and misrepresents; the more they show themselves to be the disingenuous money hungry murderers they are. Good, maybe the rest of the country and world will wake up and start holding them accountable.

You're absolutely right. We need to get them accepted as safe enough first.

But my next campaign right after that will be to get them as socially acceptable as drinking a fine wine or a trendy cup of cappiccino!! :D

Hi, good to see you guys keeps fighting for this wonderful invention ever happen.

Why ALA putting their foot into this matter so early? I'm asking this because:

I've been thinking, when the vapour is inhaled, majority of it will be absorbed in oral and throat mucosa layer. How much of the vapor will actually enter the lung airway and being absorbed and upto what level will this vapor reach in the lung field still unknown.
No study ever show anything yet.

So wouldnt be better for the ALA to come in later when further study show it has anything to do with lungs.

Pardon my english, hope u guys understand what i meant.
