I hate to do this in SoCalMichelle's thread, but I'm relatively new and don't want to cause any trouble by posting this in the Provari sub-forum proper (I'd rather have it kinda buried in a somewhat unrelated thread).

So, I kinda feel like the "Provari vs. [insert other VV device here]" argument is like the "iOS vs Android" or "MAC vs PC" thing. I'm really stoked about having my mechanical & genesis-style atty, but I almost feel like it's a moral imperative that I also own a Provari, lol!

Apologies in advance to SoCalMichelle for the potential threadjack. Also, I try not to take things too seriously so if my last post seemed a bit over the top from a "forum drama" perspective, it was not my intent...just trying to communicate a certain level of enthusiasm with a smidge of humor to keep things light-hearted.

Aight, I'mma go OOGLE the svoemesto Semovar for like 17min or so...:p

It doesn't matter where you posted- the ProVarinati see all.
Besides, I learned early EVERY thread gets hijacked.

I also feel like the ProVari vs "iOS vs Android" or "MAC vs PC" thing.
When the iPhone came out in '07, everything after that was marketed and questioned as "Is this the iPhone killer?"
There's always going to be a versus no matter what because human nature dictates it.

I've said it in other threads- No one should feel they have to limit themselves to one device whether it be a ProVari or an eGo.
This is why we're given choices- some of us just choose everything. :D

I've also been oogling the Svoemesto Semovar.

The people who are always waiting for the "next" upgrade, version or model usually end up getting nothing.
I totally agree....and that goes for phones, cars, etc. My take is buy it, enjoy it, and if a newer or better model comes out, buy the new one!!

...I hate to say it, but I may just have to give in to the hype and eventually pick up a Provari to replace the Zmax. GAWD I hate feeling like a lemming, but I DO appreciate quality stuff.

Just so you know, the whole lemmings following each other off of cliffs is a myth, mainly the fault of Disney.

The misconception of lemming "mass suicide" is long-standing and has been popularized by a number of factors...one of most influential was the 1958 Disney film White Wilderness, which won an Academy Award for Documentary Feature, in which staged footage was shown with lemmings jumping into certain death after faked scenes of mass migration. A Canadian Broadcasting Corporation documentary, Cruel Camera, found the lemmings used for White Wilderness were flown from Hudson Bay to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they did not jump off the cliff, but were in fact launched off the cliff using a turntable.¹

What the CBC did not uncover, was that real incidences of lemmings going over cliffs has been documented in the State of Washington. A sub-speces of American lemming (Lovus Provarius) has been know to lure invasive Chinese Dwarf Hamsters (Fasttecimus Ripofficus) to the edge of cliffs, where the lemmings jump off, landing uninjured and the hamsters follow, meeting their demise.

The problematic hamsters (that only sort of look like lemmings, if you haven't held a real lemming) came to light when it was discovered that many owners were releasing their imported pets into the wild after meeting American lemmings at the ProVape petting zoo.

I still love that video! Watched it 3 times this week lol xD

I'm eyeing the really pretty Valkyrie by Vicious Ant that Grimm Green did a video on.

If that isn't the most amazing machine looking mod ever? Am I right?

Is it bad I just want to own everything... o_O

lol

What happened to the What would you buy if you had $120? Was that thread just to antagonize the Plebeians?

Thanks guys I do love it but need to lower the nicotine ASAP. Also keep flooding the HH357 :( i don't know how but I am :(...

Also I like my vapor to be cool. Its too warm o_O I keep putting the 1.8 ohm at 3.4ish volts for cooler vapor but the flavor taste better at 4... Ugh I'm confused :(

Hi all ;-)

Not sure about cool vapor but certainly I don't like hot vapor. I am using 2.0ohm long barrel HH.357 on 4.5v (recommended range for 2.0 is 4.3-4.8 - source avidvapers) and as Baditude suggested long drip tip help A LOT. Here is mine, it looks ok too, I guess :)

About flooding... Guy says in avidvapers info clip on youtube, that it should take around 5-7 drops. It actually matters how "big" those drops are and from what are you dripping. I noticed 4-5 tops from Halo 30ml bottles is already enough but can put in even 10 or so with simple plastic bottle with narrow needle.

Best regards,
Lovecoach

Congrats Michelle, glad you are happy with your purchases. Know what you mean about dropping nic levels, had to drop down to 12mg since I started doing rba's, just couldn't vape as much as I wanted to without passing out!!!! lmao.

Well ok as far as building goes I started by rebuilding coils for my pro-tanks, I use 32 ga a-1 kanthol with 3mm silica for that. That's what I started with, and my builds are around a 2.0 to 2.5 ohm coils, which is a good range for the provari. As far as taste goes they are very simular for my kayfun, and my dripper, I can't say that one is better then the other. I tried using the silica first, in my kayfun, and I had a hard time getting flavor with silica, (I don't know why) I kind of want to try the silica again, but I switched to using cotton, and the taste is great, but changing the cotton wick is not easy, I destroyed a coil today trying to do that. I have not tried the micro thing yet, but if I did I would try doing a dual coil configuration so my over all ohms is not to low. I did a 7 wrap on a 1/16" wire today and ended up with a 2.5 coil, and I have my volts at 4 right now.

One thing I would like to add is the Kayfun lite, really creates a cloud of vaper, I was driving with it the other day, and I almost couldn't see the windshield. :)

I have the Russian rba, the Kayfun exact copy, I'm using a vertical mounted micro coil with 12 wraps around a paper clip measuring 1.1 ohm, I wrap the cotton wick around the coil with the ends touching down in the juice deck. Re-wicking is a quick and painless. This is the best vape I've ever had, and have tried at least 5 different builds on the Kayfun style rba.

Are you placing the cotton THRU the coil or UNDER it?
I place mine under the coil making sure no cotton is blocking the sides (open end) of the coil.
When it's time to change just lift the coil a hair, remove old, put in new and lower the coil back down on top of the cotton.

60 secs and you're back to vaping.

I use micro coils that ohm out at 1.6 - 1.8 with 28G Kanthal.
Cotton is so cheap I couldn't imagine buying silica again and it taste better.

Loving micro coils for sure. Quick to heat up, easy to make, outstanding vape. So are you using a cotton bed on a kayfun between the coil and air intake hole? Would think this would hamper air flow and cause some flooding issues.

I am still a bit of a newb with the Kayfun lite, I have been putting the cotton threw the coil, I did read about the cotton bed briefly, but I have not tried it. I wanted to try the silica figure 8 configuration when I tried it again, I have an ample supply of both cotton and silica, so it not really a issue. I am just taking a slow approach, to the coils and wicks, mabe next time, I will try something different.

Out of all the silica builds I've done on the Russian, the figure 8 was probably the easiest to install and had the best performance. I've since gone to the micro coil and doing a vertical mount using cotton, blows all the silica builds out of the water, IMO. Check out the nano dragon coil build, the micro coil build thread, and the new Vcore build thread. That is were I learned to build. I just made a dual coil vertical build on my Terminator-C rba, and am going to try it out on one of kayfun clones to see how it will work. Fortunately I now have 4 rba's to play with so that I can do some experimental design theory on one, and still have three tank full of different flavors to vape, while I build.

I was watching Clash of the Titans last night and the sword that Zeus gave Perseus reminded me of the Valkyrie... So yeah, it's a damn purty mech mod. It's not bad you want to own everything because I want to also! We're all just enablers (not lemmings, as Lady Ocelot pointed out) perpetuating enablees and vice versa - - or something like that!

@dice57 I'm using the Trident RDA.
I place my cotton under the coil; not thru it and have experimented enough that I know just how much cotton to use so I don't have to keep dripping.
My setup allows me to vape for a few hours before having to add more juice.

"Would think this would hamper air flow and cause some flooding issues."
I don't have this problem since my airflow is not hampered.

We are enablers! It's fun to convince other people to buy something you want, so you can enjoy it vicariously. :)

Yes, I understand the build you are doing, it's quite thoroughly explained in the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...3463-check-out-my-nano-dragon-coil-build.html ttread , and was also discussed in the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html thread as the PID build.

The only reason I asked you about it was that with a Kayfun style rba, with the air intake directly below the coil build, the cotton bedding would plug the air intake and quite possibly flood the air intake chamber that sits bellow the Kayfun tank, and leak out the side vent. Since you responded to a question from someone using a Kayfun rba, it lead me to think that was what you were using, and couldn't grasp how it could function, unless you mounted the coils above the juice decks.

I currently have 3 Kayfun style rba's using a vertical mounted coil with the cotton wick wrapped around the outside of the coil, as illustrated in the newly started http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...icro-coil-oddy-kayfun-russian-ithaca-ect.html thread, with fantastic results.

I have now developed a dual coil vertical mounted build with the external cotton wick, that is very promising, and am installing it in all my Kayfun style rba's and the Terminator-C R/A tank.
