Excellent advice. I always wonder how to advise high VG users with the flavor question. I knew about the maxing out the flavor but never thought of asking which flavors would benefit from this and which it may not help much. As I do not vape high VG I do not personally relate to this problem.

The site says that some of the bakery flavors are better with a higher VG ratio because it makes them sweeter. I can't remember specific juices, though.

Limelight smells fantastico NIB. Canyon Sun smells but I don't know what it smells like.

Vecchio is tobacco already and was recommended here and on the natty 'bacco thread. I'm ready, it is not.
I can always use another great tobacco vape.

I'm vaping some 2 month old Just Criminal right now, and IMHO, this stuff is better than Smooth Criminal. At the moment, it's my second favorite non-aro behind Caramel Wild Wood, and the best chocolate tobacco I've ever tried.

Isn't that stuff the best! I love Just Criminal FOOB! It really comes alive after 2 weeks though!

Don't know if this has been mentioned here before, but apparently it's been awhile since I made my last Ahlsuion order because I received one of those "we miss you" messages, but this one came with a 10% off code to nudge a purchase. It worked, and I don't even need liquid. It's a bit weird getting something like that from them, and I know it's automated, but still kinda cool in a weird way. Personally, I've always hated those "we miss you" emails because I generally stay away for a reason, but this case is different -- I wasn't staying away, I was just stocked. Nothing wrong with adding to that stock though.

Sometimes what people perceive as a PG sensitivity can actually be caused by flavoring and/or nicotine. Unless you know for a dead certainty from vaping plain PG that you are PG sensitive I would give a couple of the XPress flavors a try. They are a VG/PG blend and less expensive than the custom mixed juices. The higher PG will carry more flavor.

However, if you do need very high VG ask in your reply to the feedback email you receive to max out the flavor as much as possible. You also might want to ask for suggestions as to which flavors hold up best to high VG as I expect some will do better than others.

I can't say for certain that my problem is PG sensitivity. All I can tell you is that about one month in I started losing taste. I decided to try cutting back on PG about three weeks ago. So far not much improvement.
I like your idea about asking Ahlusion to suggest best-case scenarios. The stuff certainly does smell good, at least!

PG tends to carry taste and VG tends to mute it so moving to a higher percentage of VG will likely make your lack of taste problem worse. Try a couple of the XPress liquids to see if you get more flavor from them. If you get better taste and don't show any PG sensitivity you might want to try a 30VG/70PG in Ahlusion's regular line.

I never got it but vaper's tongue where people can't taste their e-liquid for a period of time is pretty common. Drink loads and loads and loads of water. Switching flavors frequently can help as well.

Thanks, but my vape tongue started when I was using juices that were your typical mixes. That's why I decided to try all-VG. I've done all the stuff they recommend. And I am aware that an all-VG is supposed to mute flavors. Can only try one experiment at a time.

PennyLynn, I think about the one month in mark is where many of us got our first taste of vaper's tongue. The best advice I can give on that is just what Peraspera said--drink lots and lots of water! Both PG and VG are hydrophagic (meaning that they attract and bind water to make the vapor) and are powerful dehydrators. It's amazing what slight dehydration can do to dull your taste buds! You might find that you are not sensitive to either PG or VG, just need more water!

I have the Mocha but it taste like coffee only to me and it is about 3 months old. It is not sweetened and that might be why. I forgot I have the Cherry Midnight stashed away somewhere steeping and I think it is about 8-9 weeks old so I might need to get into that this weekend.
I think I will be getting Caramel Wildwood and Just Criminal next if there is a sale this weekend. Too much talk about both of those this week and I am drooling at the thought.I had Carl Mal Mambo once and did not like it. It tastes like a bad cigarette to me. This is the reason I never took the plunge with Caramel WW. Are they much different.

Very much different. I don't care for CarMal Mambo. It's good. Just didn't hit the spot for me. Carmel Wild Wood did straight off. I let it steep for a day. Just Criminal is another tobacco that I really liked. Straight out of the mail it tasted more like chocolate cream than chocolate cream!

Chocolate flavors really come alive with extra sweetener added. It brings out the chocolate. I get them all with sweetener. The only one I didn't care for was Raspberry Chocolate. But I bought it really early on and I doubt I gave it a fair try. I didn't know about steeping back then.

No way..An emergency could arise at any moment. If I crash landed on a deserted island I would want to have at least 150 AHL on hand. All 60ml bottles. lol

That's my excuse then. I'm getting ready for an emergency! I hope I'm halfway there. Once I can see my cupboard I'm placing a serious order. I like to have 2 60s of my favorite flavors. One opened and one unopened. With everything going on with the FDA I plan to be vaping for a while no matter what they do. I'm going to ask Wlad about refrigerating ejuice and if it will extend the shelf life of an unopened bottle. We plan to buy a new fridge soon. If it would work I'd put the old one in the garage and fill it with juice!

Question: is Lime Cream a super-subtle flavor, or is that my vapetongue? I can barely taste it. My husband tried it (he's not much of a vaper) and tasted the cream, but not the lime.

Its one that I have to let steep since it has too much flavor at first, for me. It needs time for the cream to come out and balance the flavor out before I can vape it.

Hi PennyLynn. I think you ordered your Lime Cream in a max VG ratio? The highest I've ordered was 70vg and it was plenty flavorful. I've never had 90vg from Ahlusion, so I couldn't argue their flavor intensity.

Are you dripping or using a tank or clearomizer? Dripping should intensify the flavor. If you are using a clearomizer, the flavor will be muted with a high VG juice.

Ah, that explains it. Yes, I vape 70PG. Please tell Wlad that you find the flavor to be muted and need extra lime.

I hadn't heard of them either... here, so I read the description and ordered. There are so many discussed I won't try, just my budds folks, that I just stepped out.

I've actually had a couple or 3 juices (A+) that DO NOT SATISFY enough to re-order.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. I hope you figure it out. It can be troublesome. It took me forever to figure out that it was VG causing me problems. I tried experimented with all ratios until I got it right and it was really frustrating. Plus my husband was having a fit because I was coughing so he didn't like me vaping but I wasn't going to give up!

If you haven't done it yet you might want to add to your list to vape a single flavor for 3-4 days like EleonorR just did with Sweet Virginia. I think a single flavor is best since it lets your taste buds rest. Or something mild like Boba Tea. Even Lime Cream would work well since it isn't complex. I would just avoid layered and spicy flavors. If you're like me it can be hard to stick with one flavor but it really does work.

Mmmmmmm, A+ pear, pear, and more pear . . . I'm still drowning myself in Pear Mimosa and Pear Tarte Tatin!

A few days ago NOTHING tasted right, so the following day I spent exclusively with Sweet Virginia (yum); that cleansed my palate for all my other NETs, coffees and sweets.

I'm now vaping my delicious Light French Roast, and making a "weekend buy" list for Ahlusion.

NETs, coffees and sweets. That just about summarizes, my interest !
My NET's are covered with HHV, although I am going to try some Ahlusion and My Vape Juice offerings as well. As for coffee/chocolate, Ahlusion is likely gonna be my go to, if Mocha and Cherry Midnight are indications.

As for sweets I have found some nice ones, but never more than one, from any vendor. I will be trying Highbrow, Nicoticket and Ahlusion next !

Suggestions ?

Get your first 10ml bottles of Just Criminal and Smooth Criminal - NOT SWEETENED. I do not think sweetener is an option, they both have enough sweetness on their own. Try the juice as it was designed. Then, if you feel you must have it sweeter, order your second bottle sweetened.

Exactly, always try the juice as is. The sweetened option is when you like the juice but want a little sweet kick because your taste buds tell you need it. In most cases you won't need it.
