I've tried juices many different juices from many different vendors since I began vaping in 2008. Fresh out the mailbox, the flavor tasted bland to me with no hints sweetness. Posters reply: "Let it steep! The flavor will change! It will get better!"
Second day, it tastes a little better, but still bland.
I've never understood why people like the fact that their flavors change over time. When you cook, Apple Pie for example, it shouldn't taste like Milk the first day, and then Honey Cherries the next day.
If ejuice does this, then it IS certainly inconsistent over time.
what you call " inconsistent over time ", most people in the vaping world call " not pre-steeped ". I haven't been vaping since 2008 like you, but over the last eighteen months or so that i have ( i don't count the time i was vaping cigalikes ), i have tried over 150 flavors from different vendors, and learned relatively early that there are vendors who make their juices in large batches, pre-steep them, test them, and then bottle them if satisfied. There are others that
custom-make the juice according to the customers specific requirements. I have learned that those particular juices need to steep at my house. Some take less time, some longer. Some vendors do both.
I think it is disingenuous to call the juices that fall in the latter category " not quality checked ", and i think you would know that, if you have been vaping since 2008. I don't really have a dog in this fight, and i enjoy juices from both categories. In a perfect world, every juice would be at its best as soon as mixed, but as you are aware, this industry is in its infancy and the mixing technology is what it is at the present time. Juices need to be steeped ( aged is a better word ). I am not a chemist and don't really understand the chemical interactions taking place, but if juices are custom-made to the vapers specific requirements, the steeping takes place at our house. Simple, really. It could be frustrating, especially in the case of juices that take a long time to steep, and i have expressed frustration in this regard myself, with at least two or three different Ahlusion juices. But we all have choices to make, and could chose to order exclusively from vendors that pre-steep their juices.
It's one thing to call a juice bland, your taste buds are your taste buds. It's another to start debating the merits of a custom-made juice based on the fact that it morphs over time ( and implicitly the merits of the vendor ), with the posters that are trying to help you perhaps enjoy it at a later time.
You could wait and try the juice later and see if you like it then. Maybe you will, maybe you won't. Or you can dump it and never order from Ahlusion again. But to call a juice or a vendor sub-quality, based on the fact that the juice tasted different on day two, than it did on day one, seems to me that you are just trying to make a point, whatever that is.
Just my read into this, i could be wrong.
