My question is how can any vendor taste test the eliquid they are selling before sending it off, especially if said vendor does custom mixes per customer? Besides, who is to say what the vendor thinks tastes great is the same as what I will think tastes great? I personally like the flavors I order right out of the box....and a week later....and a month later. ;)

If someone doesn't like Ahlusion's eliquid, so be it. I would suggest they go find another vendor with eliquid they like. That is why there are so, so many eliquid vendors out there.

EXACTLY! Another thought to add to this line of conversation is that good e-liquid, like beer, wine whiskey etc. takes time and patience. Not only to create but to allow for the flavorings to rest and become a cohesive tone. Anyone that's DIY'd knows that most flavorings are less than desirable when concentrated. that's just the way it is. I think this is exactly why Ahlusion is a fantastic vendor because the offer the express line of pre-steeped liquids. They know that some their liquids take some time to come into their own so they offer them in a ready to vape form. My own personal method is to buy a flavor in express and as custom at once so that I can enjoy one now, and by the time I'm finished the custom will be ready to go. If that's not good enough I don't know what is.

I've tried juices many different juices from many different vendors since I began vaping in 2008. Fresh out the mailbox, the flavor tasted bland to me with no hints sweetness. Posters reply: "Let it steep! The flavor will change! It will get better!"

Second day, it tastes a little better, but still bland.

I've never understood why people like the fact that their flavors change over time. When you cook, Apple Pie for example, it shouldn't taste like Milk the first day, and then Honey Cherries the next day.

If ejuice does this, then it IS certainly inconsistent over time.

Against my better judgment, I'm going to jump into the fray.
We're talking about two different things here: consistency OVER TIME, and consistency FROM ONE BOTTLE TO THE NEXT of the same flavor.

In my humble opinion, and I'm not knocking you here, just trying to shed some light, most people do not expect the former. And I think without clarifying which of the two you mean, most folks (in this thread at least) would immediately assume you mean the latter. It's totally fine if you expect a liquid to taste the same on day 1 as it does on day 100. You will simply not find that with any Ahlusion liquids, with the possible exception of some aromatics. And that's one of things that people actually *like* about them. They start out bad, or maybe good, or even great, and almost all of them get better. Many get much, much better. Sure, it would be great if they didn't require steeping, and I understand Wlad is reformulating some liquids to this end, but that's the deal. If you want consistency over time, I'd say stick with commercial Chinese stuff. That's about the only place you're going to find that.

Also, when we talk about steeping here, we mean WEEKS or even MONTHS, not a day. You'll not find much difference from day 1 to day 2. I guess that could be described as consistent!

If you want to use the food analogy, you have to take the time scale into consideration. e-liquids are perishable. They go bad eventually. So in that sense, if you expect a glass of milk to taste the same on day 100 as it did on day 1, you are in for a bad surprise!

Hello all. I had been given a precious 6ml of coco-berry cream by a friend. It's not available thru the website right now, does anyone with a lot of experience with this vendor happen to know when he makes the rounds on offerings, because I would like to buy a bottle...and another 10...but only when that luscious coco-berry cream comes back onto a page.

I'm pretty sure it will be back soon. They usually always have it, so probably they are just out of something they need to make it. It's pretty yummy, isn't it? If you like the Coco-Berry Cream, you might really like the Strawberry Shortcake, too. It's a current fave around here :) .

My first order of Smooth Criminal I ordered 10 ml at 30/70 vg/pg. Was in my first Ahlusion order. I tasted right away-what's with all the love? I don't get it. Thought it was maybe too much vg so I ordered another 10ml in 70/30 to mix the two for 50/50 result (can't do higher pg). Mixed the 2 bottles and tasted. First bottle was now about 2 weeks old. It was better but still didn't get the love. Read this thread and about steeping Ahl juices. Humm... left it for about a month -easy cuz I had many other juices to vape up. At about 1+ month of the mix (6 weks for original bottle) I tried it again. I am getting it! Left it for about another 2 weeks and the love is there! Now also along this time frame I learned to rebuild coils and wick with cotton. All in all, I love my criminals with some age on them ;) and a good coil and wick. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I like to try my Ahl flavors fresh but then put them away for about 2 weeks before I get serious.

I do some DIY and it takes time for freshly made flavors to meld and.develop together.

I re-tried Smooth Criminal after reading this post. I had tried it at two days, two weeks and six weeks already. At two days and two weeks, it was the rare Ahlusion juice, that left me befuddled at what i'm tasting here. There was a sweetness that while not unpleasant, didn't do enough for me to keep on vaping it. At six weeks it was better, but i still wasn't quite sure that i would've said tobacco, if i didn't know what it was beforehand.

I loaded a small tank today, about ten weeks after it was mixed. For the first time, i actually get the tobacco flavor. To me, it tastes like a caramel raisin tobacco. It kind of reminds me of some of the sweeter offerings in the HHV line. A little smoother than those, but still a little less tobacco impact currently. I am actually enjoying vaping it !

I doubt, i will order it again, but i am contemplating ordering Just Criminal, and leaving it untouched for three months, before trying.

This was a juice, that had an aura and reputation around it, which definitely impacted my perception of it. I'm not quite sure to what end, but it certainly shaped my expectations and enjoyment level somewhat. In retrospect, it would've been nice if i had tried a three month steeped bottle, without expecting it to be the juice that ends all juices, and judging it on it's own merits.

Decided to crack into my order and sample them before storage, so here's my impressions. Keep in mind, these were all just unsealed and opened before vaping, so totally fresh and unaged. I'll let you all in on a little secret that very, very few people know. Even some that have vaped since 2008 aren't aware of this, it's very guarded knowledge. But.. get ready.. mixed to order juices often (in my experience, usually) change quite drastically after being exposed to air and aged. Those rare folks 'in the know' refer to this as 'steeping'. Anyways.. my thoughts..

Tart Tatin Pear. Started with this and could tell right away it needs a little time to come together. I see high potential here, but now it's mild and muddled. Complex desserts from Ahl often don't become magical before a little age for me.

Lemon Vanilla Cake. Mainly getting the lemon; a very nice lemon that's quite different than my memory of the Lemon Cream; a little more impact to it. I expected this, as others have reported the vanilla cake taking time to come out. It's pretty good fresh, but I'll wait for it to turn from lemon to LVC before vaping.

Coconut Dream. Solid, milky coconut flavor. Very good, but needs a steep.

Kent's Blend. Crystal clear color, gotta love that. This reminded me right away of the coffee from JG Blend (which it is). JG Blend has my fav coffee element from Ahl, so I find this to be very good. I liked JG fresh and like this fresh too; though like JG I'm sure it's even better aged. My fav so far until..

Gold Member. Fairly dark color for a fresh Ahl juice. Love it immediately! Salted caramel cappuccino, salted caramel ice cream.. if salted caramel is in a description I'm there. Ahl does amazing things with caramel, and this one is very unique, authentic, and tasty.

I think i am coming to the end of my experimentation phase of juice ordering. I have 76 different flavors currently, including fourteen from Ahlusion. There are four flavors left on the Ahlusion menu that i want to try, two are on the way, and the other two will be in my next order. All in all, twenty five flavors tried, after i am done.

I think i'm just getting tired of trying new juices and new vendors. I have a ton of juices i enjoy vaping when i do, but i find myself choosing the same juices over and over, if i'm going away for a week for example. Clearly those are the ones i rate highest, even if i am not consciously doing it. So i'm at the point of diminishing marginal returns, and i am constantly increasing my juice inventory. I think i will be shifting my emphasis to trying to extract some teas, instead of constantly trying new commercial flavors.

JG Blend, Masala Chai, Peach White Tea, Just Criminal, and Cocoa Blend, if and when it's back on the menu will round out my sampling of Ahlusion juices, i think.

CWW, CPBT, Sahara Blend, and Light French Roast will be re-ordered for the forseeable future, as part a staple rotation of eighteen to twenty juices, and perhaps one or two of the Ahl juices i haven't tried yet.

My strawberry vanilla cake is NOT coming together. Still tastes funny 4 weeks out only flavor that seems to be tasting funny. Anyone else have a problem?
Funny? Like a clown? It amuses you? It makes you laugh?......lol, a bit of a Goodfella's reference.

As far as the SVC goes, I gave it a try about a year ago and pif'd the bottle. I chalked it up to my personal hangup. As I loooove strawberries I have never found a strawberry flavor I can enjoyably consume from Strawberry Quick to Strawberry Pop Tarts, none are for me.
I do know that there are many fans of SVC so again, I still chalk it up to my personal issue with candied ish flavors.

I feel the same way about strawberries. If you get a chance try Strawberry Fields by Baker White. A non-candied, non-dessert, non-cream, straight strawberry. Sweet and Tart. The only fruit flavor in my rotation. I believe Hoosiers is the only on-line vendor carrying it. I buy mine from a b&m.

Sorry for the non-Ahl post.

The feeling I have inside over all this must be where the term bald headed step child comes from.... I just know it.:p

I guess when I see banners saying "soon to be discontinued" I should think to order some.
