I am also looking into a 'virtual credit card' option that my bank (Citibank) is offering to see if that would be a successful solution to this situation for me. I wonder if other people's bank or credit unions offer something like that for debit cards?

That will solve ALL your problems. That is all I use and never had a problem.

By the way, just my advise, don't use debt cards. I have credit cards and ATM cards. Keep them separate.

I am not sure how calling in an order will avoid the problem with their processor, unless they use a different processor in the stores than what is online? Lickily, I've never had a problem with fraudulent charges. I have probably had at least a dozen orders with Ahlusion this year. For most of them I used my Discover card. I've recently switched to my Sears Mastercard.. I try to avoid using my debit card online. I do feel for everyone that is having this problem. I know I wouldn't be happy f it happened to me.

I have used Citi's virtual card system and its safe and very easy. Each time you want to use the card online it creates a fake card number and you set the amount it can be used for and for how long. You can get your check- out amount and set the limit at that exact amount so stealing it would do nothing for anyone. Its pretty cool.

Thank you very much for the nice concise and clear explanation. I understand it fully. You should have heard the quantity of babble that the customer service rep at Citibank was trying to tell me when I inquired about it from Citi. I am glad to hear that it works well for you. I will get that set up for future online purchases once I get my new credit card.

Is it something you can set up immediately to use at once? Or is there a time delay. Just wondering if I fill my cart at Ahlusion and get the total if I can then log on to Citi and get a virtual number before my order times out. Thanks again.

I was thinking, even if your order timed out by the time you got the number, you would know exactly how much the total is and there would be no mad rush to re-enter your order. I don't know why I've been lucky so far, but I'm going to look into this and see if my bank even offers it.

You know, it is an absolute shame that we even have to worry about this. I have had this same credit card for 12 years and only once, about 7 years ago, did I have to get a new card because I lost my wallet. I have been using PayPal since it was first introduced and never had a problem. These hackers are really a scourge on society. The good guys can not keep up with the bad guys.

For those of you who think this is an Ahlusion issue....

Do some research, read the news, & look at any other online forum and you'll see that they're having the exact same conversations... Credit card fraud is occuring at an alarming rate everywhere! Be smart; never use your debit card-EVER- for internet purchases, and be happy that the banks are taking the hit (not us directly) for now.

Advice heeded, albeit it a little late, I got a prepaid CC this week. I won't be using my debit card anymore.

Very easy to set up. Not sure if you already have the citi credit card or not ( haven't scrolled back to read ) But once you have the credit card and registered online with it to be able to view your credit card statement etc. then you can do one of 2 things. You can receive a virtual credit card from their web site or download their program which will be an application on your desk top.

I have the application downloaded on my desktop. Before I order, I log into the virtual application, get a virtual credit card number, and then place my order, when it's time to input my cc info I already have it. If you don't use it, don't worry about it. Just create another one for another time. Actually I have ordered MANY times from Ahlusion ( trust me, too much ) and I use a different one every time. You can use the same card number for the same merchant within 30 days but I never do, I just create a new one each time.

I don't know how it would help either, except that their processor is perceiving my card to be a gift card - which it is not, and possibly a human would be able to override it when I speak to them. My credit union doesn't offer the virtual card things yet, so it's just the only way I'm able to be able to order again that I can come up with..really too far from Philly to drive over and use cash. So, I don't expect it to be a solution - just something I'll have to try before I give up on ordering from Ahlusion entirely. =)

It's definitely not just an Ahlusion issue! It's all over. The only place I used my most recent card, however, was Ahlusion so it does make it clear to me that they (as in their processor/whatever) do have an issue with it. I am very glad that my credit union has never had any problem with clearing up fraudulent charges for me, and I won't ever use my debit card anywhere online again.

I didn't mean to alarm you, and it makes me sick to think about things changing. I'll try to explain. Lately I can't help but see there are some serious transitions going on with some vendors. B&M stores are getting a lot of attention suddenly, and some online-only vendors are going to great lengths to market their juice to B&Ms so their brand has a firm foothold when whatever happens, happens. They are getting ready. This suggests strongly that vendors are expecting some major changes to take place in the future regarding online sales. The FDA probably can't ban online sales, but they can make it much more difficult than it is now.
Regulations are coming. I have every reason to believe the deeming regulations are not going to benefit us as vapers.

But at this time, everything is available to us, unregulated and untaxed and unclassified. Prices haven't skyrocketed and supplies are plentiful. It's not a bad idea to prepare ourselves for some changes. Maybe we should stock up when there's a great sale online and store it. Learn some basic DIY. And maybe it would be a good idea for all of us to keep an eye out for some great local vape shops that we can fall back on, just in case.
And of course it goes without saying we need to stay aware, informed, unified and heard.

I am going to talk to Ahlusion about their policy of not accepting Prepaid credit cards. I think this would put a lot of their current customer's fears to bed and attract some new customers. With the hacking being as rampant as it is these last few months I would think that Ahlusion would welcome any way to help their customers be safe and feel secure using their site. They do say that Customer Service is very important to them on their site.

I do believe the problem is with their credit card processor and not Ahlusion. I do not know what it would take for Ahlusion to get after their processor to beef up their security or for them to change processors. It is probably a big deal. I am going to ask them for their credit card processor's name so I can forward it to my credit card company and see what they can do. But I do feel they (Ahlusion) have a responsibility to do whatever they can to protect their customers' credit card information.

I am also looking into a 'virtual credit card' option that my bank (Citibank) is offering to see if that would be a successful solution to this situation for me. I wonder if other people's bank or credit unions offer something like that for debit cards?

I am insisting that my credit card company send me my new card via FedEx overnight. Sooner or later I am hoping that many people will do this and the banks will get sick of paying outrageous fees and manhours to keep reissuing new credit cards to their customers and will work harder to combat this cancer.

I have ordered from Ahlusion using my CC for longer than I can remember and never had an issue. Have you considered changing the Company you have your CC with...I see more of a pattern with certain CC companies. I use Discover and have ordered more than I care to admit in regards to vape supplies on line from a variety of companies.

ShariR - I see you are looking into another alternative... best of luck as unfortunately they just can't seem to nail these hackers and they have become more aggressive for sure.

I have never had any issues with my CC ( never use debit tho) over the past year and I have placed quite a few orders. Maybe I've just been lucky? I really think its a much larger issue like some people have suggested before me. I don't think it's just an Ahlusion thing. Just my :2c:

If Paypal wasn't such a PITA about the whole juice & related items thing, everything would be so much easier and secure. If only....

Hit post too soon! Random Question... I never seem to be able to stack my coupons. If I use one, it seems to take out the first one. Am I missing something obvious? Has probably been discussed before, sorry if I missed it.

When people talk about stacking coupons, I think it means stacking just one of yours with an Ahlusion sale.
