I had a 60ml bottle of Smooth Criminal steeping for quite a while; not knowing whether it was the new formula or not.... the date on the bottle was close to the date Ahl made the change.

I opened it up, and.... in the very first second I realized it wasn't the SC I had grown to love. It really is nothing like its former self.

I NEVER thought I'd say this, but SC will not be on my reorder list :(

Damn! That bad, huh? I am so sorry, Randy -- also for all other "old" SC lovers! :(

what was this set-up may I ask?

It was a Glas mod with a Stillare triple coil rda. They built the coils for her at E-cig 101. They did a nice job, too.

Didn't see a direct link for Stillare

What Mozzer said. A Glas Solari 18650 with a triple coil Cartel Stillare v3 dripper that's running at 0.27 ohms right now. The dripper was coiled to Cartel "sweet spot" specifications with 26G Kanthal using a 5/6 wrap, at I think 2.4mm (diameter is the only thing I'm not sure about). Dripping Northern Lights Vapor's "$100 Apple Pie" High VG version.

Good news, I got gold status today!

I re-sent my feedback via the website this morning. I haven't received a reply but I didn't necessarily need one. (need to check spam also)

Pretty excited since my ventures outside of Ahl have been pretty much a failure.

Congratulations!

Was there ever a reason given for the change in Smooth Criminal ? I for one lost the affection for this flavor also. With all the folks in close contact with Wald and crew has the question ever been breached? I sure would love to get my hands on a few bottles of the old formula.

Well, since Ahlusion's aromatics were discontinued prior to the recipe change of Smooth Criminal, I guessing these changes were prompted by concerns of upcoming FDA reg's and lab test results of naturally extracted tobaccos in general...

NET's, when done right (and Ahlusion did them like no other), can produce incredible results. Blending combinations of various tobaccos can yield some very unique flavors. In the case of SC for example, many vapors (myself included) would pick up flavor notes such as cinnamon; yet their wasn't a drop of cinnamon in it. Given the vast number of exotic tobaccos available in the world market today, a gifted mixologist like Wlad could produce flavors that would stagger the mind!

Now....on the flip side, NET's are dirty. NET tobacco solids can be suspended in water vapor and probably aren't the healthiest thing to be inhaling. I think Wlad read the writing on wall- in terms of what will be allowed by the FDA in the near future. I think he cleaned up the dirtiest of his NET's.

Just my two cents....

Thank you :) It really is beautiful. I definitely chose the right combination for my tastes. It seems almost surreal to have one, really. I have only tried it with a Squape, which is a bit large and heavy for it. The button is quite soft, and will fire while standing under the weight. There's a spare spring that might be stiffer. Not sure. Hits really nice, though. Perfect machining, of course!

Your supposition makes sense, but Wlad himself gave completely different reasons :

- The "aromatics" were discontinued because the cost of producing them was too high and sales were not high enough to justify continued production.

- The non-aromatics were not and are not NET's ( despite what was written on the site previously ). There is no actual tobacco used in the production of Ahl tobacco's currently and they are entirely lab-made. Smooth Criminal was the only "tobacco" to have undergone a change, and that was only in the method of production ( not ingredients ) in order to expedite steeping. According to Wlad the majority of his customers ( at least the in store ones ) prefer the new SC.

Just recently found 4 bottles of Ahl which i had no recollection of ordering !

So far i have tried LVC and Peppermint Bark and both are excellent. The LVC ( like all desserts ) will only be an occasional vape for me, but the PB i haven't stopped vaping since yesterday. Really well balanced. Couldn't have imagined i would like a chocolate mint vape as much as i do.

Haven't tried the other two yet.

I don't know if anyone is going to do a magnet buy again on Pedro's site, but keep your eyes peeled. Blu did the first round, not sure who did the second but you can put up to 4 in the switch and they're smoother, and 3 or 4 will definitely hold more weight. If you go that route, get some spares because when you take the button apart, they can FLY.

Glad there's been no changes to Peachy Criminal. I'm vaping that one right now, and it sure is pretty....
