I called Verizon to cancel my father's cell phone line (he died last week.) They waived the early cancelation. I asked whether I needed to turn in the phone. They said there is no obligation to do so, but they do rehab phones and donate them to things like women's shelters.

Isn't that nice?

So sorry, Poeia. I'm glad to hear he had all his marbles until the end. It's so hard to lose someone you love, but even worse to lose them while they are still here.

Congratulations on your 1 month of vaping. You will enjoy it so much and feel better and pretty soon it will be a year before you even realize it. :) Oh, and I agree with you, you will find your collection growing. The holidays are coming up and vendors will be offering some nice discounts and sales. That would be a good time to pick up an extra battery for a back up. So glad to have you with us :)

Finally, I went to Level Vape here in Chicago, sat down and tried every juice they had and walked out with battery boxes, another battery charger (for 4), and 11 new bottles of juice. I'd been there before but...

You might ask, what the heck were you doing before? Fair enough. I'm a techie & sort of an introvert. Once I warm up to you and we chat I'm good to go. But what I was doing was looking on the Internet for juices and also going in to the shops and just asking them point blank what their best seller was to get started. Yep. Probably the first 15 bottles of juice, I didn't try before I bought. Doh! :pervy:

Yesterday I had my first in depth visit, and I have another planned at another shop on Sunday. Hmm... what the heck am I doing today? Now see what I started!

Been thinking about joining CASAA. I've been reading their website and they look like a good organization. Anyone here know anything about them? Anyone members?

I thinking I am getting email from every org out there. I just started vaping and my new found hobby is already under attack. I did not give any cash to anyone yet, but I will this site today.

Yesterday, just before I got in to Level Vape, someone dropped off a document on what is happening in Chicago. I'll try and post a picture of the document below, but what it says is that the mayor of Chicago wants a 25 cent tax on each ml sold in Chicago as well as $1.25 on ea "cartridge"/coil. The employees had a worried look on their face.

You need to join CASAA, let them know if they already don't and be a voice to stop this. That would be $2.50 on a 10 ml bottle. That is outrageous.

The owner/partner at Level Vape said that with bottles selling for around $12.00 ea that comes to around $6 and up per bottle. Level Vape sells bottles ranging from 15ml, 30ml, 60ml, and 120ml. Can you imagine the tax on a 120ml bottle!

This is the work of the Chicago Democratic Party. Richard Daley, the prior mayor, left the city billions in debt on projects, some great, some totally unnecessary and never cared abt paying down the debts he caused. Not that it is unusual, paying a fee for fresh water, Richard Daley implemented that tax while in office. Now we are expecting $500 million in new property taxes, garbage collection taxes, cloud computing & streaming taxes(ex. Netflix), more cigarette taxes when cigarettes are already $13 a pack, and of course this assault on vaping.

I'll post on Twitter that Level Vape should join CASAA. Thanks!

I don't think I've ever tried a juice before buying it. Then again, I just bought my first 2 bottles of liquid in a store. I've been internet only -- there were no bricks and mortar stores when I started.

I think GlacierBabe meant that you should make sure CASAA knows about the Chicago proposal. They probably do but just in case...

Don't blame the Democrats. It's all of them. It's a matter of tax revenue. If people quit smoking, they lose those taxes. They need to replace the money somewhere. And it was easy to make up a budget shortfall by taxing smokers. Nobody defended us. It's not so easy to raise property taxes.

Chicago has the highest taxes on cigarettes in the country
Federal tax per pack - $1.01
Illinois tax - $1.98
Chicago tax - $4.18
Total - $7.17

New York City is second
Federal - $1.01
NY State - $4.35
NY City - $1.50
Total - $6.86

Cantal-Berry Ice...anyone?

Want to make an order soon and am leaning more toward fruits, but not cream anything. I am creamed out! I am a little leery of new-to-me fruits that have been on the site awhile. I got Raspberry Sunset just a couple months ago and was not pleased with it. But I know there are some gems, I am just not sure which ones they are.

New York and Chicago are not bastions of Republicanism or Libertarianism, those are Democrat strongholds like California.

I was born in Chicago, which is located in Cook County, but was raised in DuPage County 35 miles West of Chicago. The cigarettes are around $7.00 a pack in Dupage, and there has been no talk of raising taxes on E-Liquids in DuPage or downstate. Perhaps they are just behind the curve...we will see. This is the work of Democrats. The debt for the City of Chicago, Cook County and the State of Illinois is in the tens of billions. The Democrats have controlled all three of these while racking up massive debts and all three over the last five years have considered defaulting on their debts. The City of Chicago and Cook County have been under the control of Democrats for the last 55 years in so far as I know, and the State of Illinois has a new figurehead, Republican Rauner, who cannot get anything passed or cut due to the efforts of the Speaker of the Illinois House, Democrat Madigan.

That's gonna be a no from me, but a yes from others. I wasn't a fan.
