Understandable. Yes, in it's pure form it is an "irritant" if inhaled, as are most concentrated flavorings. The MSDS sheet you linked to is from 2007. It has since been updated as of 2014 to specifically state that this compound is NOT a Diketone, and it's use is GRAS. I'm assuming that comment was added because this is now a common ingredient in eliquid.
I want to get those flavors from Shipwreck that everyone else enjoys. I'm just not right now. I've had similar issues (not Frito's though) with other AHL tobacco liquids in the past. There just may be something in there that doesn't work with my taste buds.
You were serious.. Sorry but I was quite surprised at your evaluation of Shipwreck. Now we've had some odd descriptions of some of the other tobaccos Ahl has to offer. From fresh cut grass to ferrett piss, but your Fritos
description is a first...My apologies for thinking you were trolling.

Good to know, thanks & I hope you don't think I was trying to attack you or anything, that's just not me. Believe it or not, even after vaping for 5+ years, I had never heard of that additive before. [emoji15] As we all know, taste is so subjective & we all get so many different "tastes" from the same eliquid. I hope you're able to find some Ahlusion flavors that help you love them as much as we all do! :)

It's all good. I am ordering another bottle of Lemon Vanilla Cake right now. It's totally outside my usual flavor profile but I have been enjoying it daily for a couple months.
I can't name one vendor out of the dozens I've tried over the years that has more than a couple flavors that I truly like. That's just the way it goes.. I probably won't hang around here much as the Ahlusion tobacco line has largely been a fail for me personally, and I am primarily a tobacco vaper. That said, I have enjoyed finding a couple of their other flavors that I can use and I enjoy them a lot.

Hi Star Pup!!! All that avatar changing!! Making me dizzy!
Yeah, I get a good amount of throat hit from Calypso, but it could be the citric acid. Those vapes ALWAYS give me a lil "burn". I like it, to a point. As Bukket pointed out in her post after yours, these new flavors, have FLAVORS! I love em all too!

Ah you know..people get use to an avy and don't like it changed. I was a bit tired of it and tried a few new ones out, but that Star Dawg has his fan base obviously. Sorry bro I'll keep him around now until everyone gets as tired of it as I am...lmao

I finally tried a sample of Strawberry Sunset. The best Strawberry ever!

@LouisLeBeau Did you polish your Cherry Vape drip tips?

Hi Bukket!! I did! I cut a q-tip in half, jammed it into the mouth end till it stuck good, and then put it in a drill motor on high. Toothpaste and brush, and let er rip! It came out very nice, but the toothpaste isn't abrasive enough to get rid of some of the deeper machine grooves. I think I am going to try a little bit of polishing compound on the next one, and then the toothpaste to bring out the final gloss. Even NICER than the original feel, but they lose opaqueness, and become quite a bit more see thru, non?

Also, as a recent convert tot he Strawberry Sunseet myself, I just got in an order of Raspberry sunset. Haven't tried it yet, but if it is as ZOMG as the Strawberry? :thumb::thumb:

I knew you'd come up with a better way to polish them! :p I've got a blister from polishing mine. Lol. I love the yellow Ming. Perfect for my Lemon Cream. The Bumble Bee Pawn is reserved for Pina Colada. Don't forget the Shea Butter (or anything with cocoa butter) for the final shine.

Strawberry Sunset is the first flavor that I've actually been able to taste a real Strawberry!! It's so amazing. I'm sorry to say that I didn't care for Raspberry Sunset but I do love Lemon Sunrise! That's what I've got in my tank until the Strawberry Sunset arrives and steeps a few days. I just haven't found a Raspberry that goes with my taste buds yet. I think that since you like Rasputin you'll enjoy the Raspberry Sunset. :)

Also, I find that turning the wattage down a bit on citrus flavors is a must for me. It really makes the lemon or lime flavor shine. Lemon Cream and Pina Colada are my most vaped flavors for a while. Once my 60ml of Strawberry Sunset arrives it's going to the top of the list, too! I've never vaped a sample so fast.

Strawberry Cream is a mild flavor. I think they've all steeped long enough that they're not going to change any more. Have you tried any of the coffees sweetened? I drink mine that way so they taste better to me with sweetener added.

Calypso is amazing! So many of the new flavors have so much more flavor to them. Hawaiian Sun, Wild Passion, Lychee Coconut Smoothie, and Cheehu Cocktail are all excellent, too. Saturday Morning is such a shock. I've always loved Fruit Loops! @LouisLeBeau Did you polish your Cherry Vape drip tips?

The Mocha I got sweetened but Kents Blend I did not as the description stated it was sweet. These are for my man, he's on a coffee vape kick. I was just wondering if coffee took more time to develop like some of the other flavors.

I've tried several coconut, orange and peach Ahl juices and have found those flavorings not to my liking. That being said I'm not going to visit more with those for awhile. I honestly can't afford it. I need to just stick with liquids I like to avoid over spending. I've found a couple Ahl juices that are tasty and will keep reordering them. They are a great company that I'm happy to support even in a small way. Free samples can be when I try something new. I have at least 30 not for me samples I still revisit randomly. I'm just a picky vaper, what can I say.

I swear I taste a custard note of some sort and that may be why I'm attracted to it. I haven't tried many blueberry juices so that could be why I'm clueless.
perhaps that is the milk you are tasting because I think this is a cereal vape

About to give up on Shipwreck after a month steep. Straight up Fritos Corn Chip taste. I can't really make out what else is in there. I suspect too much Acetyl Pyrazine. Anyone else had this problem?
NOOOO I love Shipwreck and loved it from the day I tried it. It is a fav of many

Were you referring to Acetyl Propionyl by chance?
Acetyl Pyrazine is commonly used in many eliquids, especially tobacco blends for a nutty or bready note, and I'm not aware of any safety issues concerning it's use. Too much can cause your juice to taste like tortillas or Fritos and that's exactly what I'm getting from Shipwreck. I'm puzzled. Maybe got a bad mix? I let them know when they asked for feedback and they didn't blow up about it. Just said report back in another couple weeks.
I know the taste you are referring to and I have tasted it before in some less quality juices. I def do not taste itin Shipwreck though

I actually came by to say hello and to post about Billow Berry and here you all are already talking about it!
perhaps that is the milk you are tasting because I think this is a cereal vape

I had maybe 10mls left in a bottle of 70vg/30pg that I'd forgotten about. Judging by the date on the bottle it had been steeping for about 9 months, maybe 10. ZOMGoodness, it was the best juice I've ever had from any vendor (AHL included) ever. It completely BLEW MY MIND! Since there was only a little left I put clean cotton on my dripper and went to town. I stayed up hours past bedtime because it was so good, I couldn't put it down. First juice I've ever had that problem with. It was the most realistic milk flavor ever, it seemed like there was Koolada added because it left a cold feeling and a super wet mouthfeel. Like I'd literally just drank a cold glass of milk with perfectly balanced blueberries. No cereal in there, just the most amazing blueberry milk I could've ever imagined!

@Dreamer13 I have another bottle of Billow Berry steeping. It's about 9months old and 90vg/10pg and it does have a bit of a custard taste to it, similar to Crescent Moon or Fort Custard. It's not the deep, dark shade of a golden brown that the 10mls I had left was. The taste isn't close to the same either so I'm going to let it steep for another 3 months. I think the 90/10 is why it needs a longer steep. But after it gets to that dark brown color the custard flavor goes away and it's just amazing blueberry milk.

Hopefully someone else has this experience too so it's not just me. My next AHL order will have two 60mls of 60vg/40pg (which I think is the lowest vg I can go, even for AHL). I'm planning to crack them open and then leave them sit for at least 6months. Long steep time but completely worth it!! If you're on the fence with Billow Berry, leave it for awhile (or longer) and hopefully when you get back to it, it's better than the best blueberry milk you could imagine.
