I hope y'all don't mind but I'm going to cut and paste my latest (today) feedback email I sent to W&A. Just to give my impression of a few of the new juices, maybe help someone with what kind of info helps them know your preferences, and a theme for me about their juices and the intensity of the flavors in them. here it is:
Some feedback:
I promised Wlad that I would revist Crescent Moon and Oasis after a steep. All tested in an HH357 atomizer. My de facto “reference” tool.
Crescent Moon: My original impression remains the same. A very nice vape but too subtle for me. I am measuring it against a favorite of mine, Banana Cream Pie. The BCP is… more. More banana, the cream in BCP gives a richness that the vanilla in CM doesn’t lend. I like the vanilla, it is interesting. The pie crust in BCP also adds to the intensity of flavor and gives it a warmth.
Oasis: Again, my original impression remains the same. Too subtle. I’ve never had real prickly pear but I assume it is subtle. So I can’t comment on the exactness. I know Wlad is really fond of this
juice and he thought I would be too but it just doesn’t seem to have any oomph. Very nice, but once it goes into a Kayfun, which by nature mutes flavors a bit over a drip atty, it becomes a pleasant but indiscernible vape.
On to some new flavors.
Lychee Coconut Smoothie: Oh nice! Unlike many things I have tried in the real world (Lychee Boba, Lychee Ice cream) with Lychee, the Lychee in this is subtle. It seems everyone wants to smack you in the face with too much Lychee and that’s what I was expecting. Here, it is more of a suggestion than a direct order. I was also a little afraid of the maple descriptor. I love maple syrup and candy, but I found it didn’t work for me as a vape ala Maple Dream. Again, very subtle in this juice. Your coconut flavoring is a real hit with me, but again, it is very subtle in this juice and I think I wanted more. Good juice, well-proportioned but at the end of the day, too subtle for me. More about that at the bottom of the page.
Cheehu Cocktail: This tastes a LOT to me like the Lychee Coconut smoothie. I’m not picking up much of Cherry Liqueur, or Lemon Guava for that matter either. The Lychee is also very subtle. I’m surprised as the Lemon Guava seems to be what really makes Calypso pop with the orange. Again, the flavors seem well proportioned but just not intense enough for my present preferences. There seems to be a common thread in all this.
The Common Thread: Wlad has mentioned before that seasons and personal issues can alter the perception of intensity. Maybe that’s the case in these, but I don’t think so. Billow Berry, Calypso, Saturday Morning, and some old faves like Cocoberry Cream all still are popping for me. Great intensity and very flavorful. Not to mention my original and omnipresent faves like Orange Nocturne, Caramel Pear Black Tea, Fijian nights et al. When I first started
vaping, I went from Dekang (yuck) to Alice in Vapeland which was a huge improvement. AIV is known for their subtlety. Then I found Ahlusion and those old originals aforementioned, and I was.. WOW! FLAVOR! It would seem that with a couple of rare exceptions, my overall preferences are for the stronger flavors. I don’t know if it is possible to note in my profile that the more subtle vapes need a…. erm… hate to say this word, but extra flavor shot? Hahaha… that was embarrassing. I’d never salt Wlad and Alleys entrees before tasting them, it would insult a very fabulous chef. Overall “as is” is my preference. I don’t know. Maybe some kind of intensity scale rating for each juice, so the customer knows if it is more on the subtle side or vivid? Just thinking out loud.
Can’t wait to try the incoming Drewdles and Alton! New flavors for me. You can be sure I’ll let you know my thoughts. Hehe…
