I swore I'd never get into this again, but you're exactly right. It is objective fact that we perceive flavor by mixing the thing we're tasting with air in our mouths. That's how taste buds work. People with wide open airflow who have to inhale directly to the lung are only getting flavor on the exhale, which means only from the vapor that remains after you've absorbed much of it. For anyone who doesn't believe me, try it now. Put the tip in your mouth with lips sealed and inhale without opening your mouth at all. You'll get no flavor without opening your mouth and drawing some air also; all you get is the sensation of the vapor. You will begin to taste the flavor if you open your mouth after the draw.

Watch a pipe smoker. They have evolved the perfect technique for maximum flavor. Draw your own conclusions.

And the more restricted the airflow, and the harder you draw, the more you're getting vapor right off the coil (versus vapor mixed with a lot of air from a wide-open airflow). I also don't think (but have no evidence to prove other than my subjective experience) that extreme heat (high wattage, low resistance) increases perceived flavor. And in fact, I think subohmers often favor simple, very sweet flavors because the primary flavor element survives the heat well.

I am in no way criticizing anyone's preference in vaping style. I am describing what I have experienced. I'm thrilled that so many people enjoy subohm tanks and big, wide-open drippers. Good for them! But I think there is great confusion of power/clouds and flavor. High wattage and wider airflow don't increase flavor. People may like them better, but there's less flavor, not more -- unless there are vapers with taste buds behind their uvulas.
I agree about te cloud chasers..but disagree about the lung hits not producing much flavor..It's the other way around for me..But I'm a Modwomper,..that is to say in between. I never go below say around .5Ω and never above 1.0Ω lung hitting all the way..Yes I do get air through the corners of my mouth while vaping..Never all from the tip like cloud chasers with Chuff Caps as big as their RDA's.
They all vape sweet custards you are 100% correct..That or some other overly sweet almost all VG juice..Idk how thay can enjoy that?!?

Vaping some very well steeped Fijian Nights today. Yummy and Creamy and I do, for the first time, detect a smidgen of mint. This is over a year old
Was thinking about Fijian the other day..I've not had any for about a year now..Might have to order a 30ml.I remember it fondly.

No, I should have asked now that you mention it. Drats.

Key Lime Pie may never be released. It was a personal bottle of the girl (OldTimers disease, forgot her name) behind the counter. The shop was slow so she and Drew entertained me. Apparently, there are a LOT of flavors that have been bottled but never released. Wlad must not be completely happy with them. The Key Lime pie was just a soft creamy lime to me, I didn't really get Graham Cracker crust out of it, and it didn't have the mouth watering tang that I associate with a good KLP. He might still be working on it?
Let's hope that's not the case..If Wlad ever pins Key Lime Pie..I'm sure it would be a winner..I know I'd sure like some. :p

Dang! My well steeped billow berry has lost its flavor! Can anyone relate? Blueberry vanilla cake still tastes great however....weird.
Just get enough to vape FOOB..Billow Berry is no different than any other blueberry..They don't hold up well to a steep I'm afraid.

I think this question should be worded like this: What do Lemon Vanilla Cake and Lemon Cream have in common? To which I would say, they are both lemon-based, dessert liquids. That's it! Other than that, I don't find them to be interchangeable or even sister-liquids in the least bit.

I find Lemon Cream to be much more zesty and lemon-y than LVC. The cream part takes time, for me, to really come around though. And my preferred steeping timeframe for LVC is however long it takes me to get that dadgum plastic wrapper off. @y cherry y -- two months? You're nuts! ;) I never steep anymore unless it's Shipwreck and Tarte Tatin Apple and those are about a month steep. I am so glad those days for me are mostly over with having to -- not preferring, but *having* to -- steep!
Haha,..same here on the steepage..Hell when I do steep it's only a couple of weeks max..lol :p

Mmmm, key lime pie! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one!
Same here..The last good one I had came from Uncle Junks.."Keystone". It's a steeper though..Had I not put it back and forgot about it for a month I would have never even known how good it was. :p

I used to like the Key Lime Pie from High Desert Vapes, but it was really inconsistent--both the regular and the organic versions. Sometimes they would be great, other times not.
Sounds like some of the Charlie Noble's. They just aren't consistent like Ahlusion or Uncle Junks.. You're gonna pay for that consistency in the case of Uncle Junks though... Those are not cheap.

Keep those recommendations for Ahlusion coffees coming Eleanor..I'm on a coffee kick now..Pairs great with the non aromatic tobaccos like Deal Maker and Sahara Blend.

I've been hearing about reverse steeping..Now I know you have vaped HHV before and for some time I think..Those are some juices I've read about that will reverse steep..Meaning if you steep them long enough,..they unsteep and turn into what they were before steeping.

Any truth to this that you know of Eleanor?!?
I doubt Ahlusion would fit that catagory.

I've been going on and on about Cafe au Lait since I first tried it..Wonderful and just like I like my coffee..Folgers with Coffee Mate! :p

Aha -- it was you who nagged me into trying Cafe au Lait! :D

As for HHV and reverse steeping, I don't recall that any of their tobaccos reverse-steeped. These days the only HHV I have on hand is Legend, and it stays fine no matter how old. (The REAL problem with HHV, IMO, is their utter lack of consistency from bottle to bottle. None of that nonsense goin' on in Michigan!)

Same here...Only Legend and you're spot on about consistency.. I even got one bottle of DF with menthol.. Robin got two all were 100ml...Adam replaced those but I've really not got over that one and only order small with HHV and now only Legend.. That stuff takes forever to steep unlike our Ahl baccers. LOL [emoji1]
Yep...I'm guilty twas muah.[emoji12]

To me it has that same "shortcake" taste that strawberry shortcake has. Like you can taste the biscuit the strawberry sits on. It's good, don't get me wrong. If it keeps this taste, this one will be in the big bottle category with Strawberry Shortcake, Hawaiian Sun and Dew Drop. I'm a bit disappointed in the peach liquids though. I was hoping to find a real peach liquid and instead I get a peach candy taste. My journey for peach continues...

Have you tried the Paach White Tea? To my taste buds, it's a nice and not too sweet peach with a hint of delicate tea.

Sorry if you have--I haven't read every post in the thread...
