Ahlusion LLC Chat Thread

I didn't know her and I don't rebuild so I don't think I ever saw her posts, but what I got as the rationale was that she had input into the design. She was an unpaid consultant and ECF skipped right over the "unpaid" part and decided she was a vendor.
We are customers, not consultants. Even if we ask for a flavor and Wlad starts to sell it, we have no input as to how it is made and what he puts in it to achieve the desired flavor.
I think this thread is pretty safe, anyway, since it's just a chat thread tucked way back in The Lounge. As long as we don't break any TOS rules or get nasty with each other (which we wouldn't, because this is the NICEST group of people ever in the world), I think we can talk about pretty much anything we want. And as Poeia just said, we are just customers. We can fangirl and fanboy as much as we want here, which you can't really do in the general forum, unless it is in a registered supplier's thread.
I wouldn't worry about whether Ahlusion is discussed or not on the Juice Junkies thread, since a ton of different vendors are discussed there. Ahlusion is a favorite, but not exclusively so. Eventually, that thread will get too big and get closed, but then someone can just start #4. We had several massive and long-running Ahlusion threads in the general forum before this, but we moved here after the last one was closed. We don't have to worry so much about "staying on topic"

Sure you can. You see it more with devices and accessories than with liquid (as many liquids are only available in one place) but look at all the threads devoted to a single brand of variable voltage/variable wattage APVs, for example. Some of them have thousands of responses.

Well since I don't have to worry about acting like a fangirl, let me tell you that AHL's Oasis is fantastic! I got it in the mail four or five days ago, so this is without much of a steep at all. This stuff is tastey and is not subtle. Of any of you haven't tried it, you should give it a shot.
Ok guys, I finally gave up on the V-mod. The quality just doesn't seem to be there anymore and although they will apparently repair/replace them I'm not the sort of person that follows through with returns and frankly I don't think I should have to. I looked high and low for something as simple and settled on the istick basic. I kind of love it but, and it's a big but, my Ahlusion all pretty much tastes like crap. Hot and peppery. I'm thinking I should drop the nic? Or is this just a crap device? Advise me! Thanks, Lisa (vaping luddite)
I mainly use iStick 30Ws. I like them. The biggest problem is the threading. I used to get a lot of "no atomizer" when I knew the atomizer was still good. Adding a 510-510 adapter (or 510-eGo) fixes that although you have to be careful not to screw it in tightly.
For flavor, try dropping the wattage (or voltage.) I was vaping 1.5ohm tanks at 10W but I didn't love the flavor (plus I have a heavy thumb so I tended to cook the juice by taking long, slow drags.) I've dropped it to about 7.5W. It tastes much better to me now.
Well this one doesn't thread, the little tank just magically magnets in there somewhere? So yay? Also, not voltage or wattage adjustable LOL - luddite, remember?

Are you using the highest ohm coils? I believe that would be 1.2 ohm?
Those very narrow clearomizer style tanks, they do suffer from warming the juice in the tank to begin with, and then putting it down in that tube like shroud, that's going to add to the inability to air cool the tube off after heating.
Otherwise, great little mod, and the GS Air 2 coils are very highly regarded. Pulling air through that coil for a few seconds AFTER you let go of the fire button will go a long way towards cooling that coil and tube off, and keep it from warming your juice in the tank into flavorless muck.

Reporting from the Chemo Front, one week in: They were right, your tastebuds do get totally messed up (because chemo targets rapidly-growing cells)!Right now almost nothing tastes good (foodwise), and the funny thing with vaping is that my juices taste TOO flavory. I'm known for normally having the opposite problem, and this is weird poetic justice. Outside of plain minty flavors, I seem to be tolerating Strawberry Snap the best, followed by LimeLight.
Outside of my digestive system (do NOT ask LOL), I'm not doing too badly.

The original IStick was known to put out higher wattage than the readout indicates. You might just need to turn it down. By the way, any new Vapage BF atties left over you'd like to sell?
How many of you use sub ohm tanks versus building your own coils? I have a new authentic Twisted Messes, I bought it to use with my Sigelie 150. I've had 3 Istick 50 watt mods all go bad on me...threading issues on 2. I have the IPVD2 ( it's ok), a Hanna 150 and another Sigelie I have about 4/5 sub ohm tanks but the coils taste dirty to me after 2 days tops. I have all the tools to build coils. I think I should make another attempt. I prefer lower wattage Vaping. 50 watts max, 35 average. On tanks, I use .5 ohm coils and some .2/.4 coils. Same results regardless of tank or coil choice. I spend a fortune on coils. Maybe I over- prime and junk them up? No idea. It's maddening though. I know I'm a picky vaper, taste wise. But when I hear people make coils last weeks!? I can't imagine it! Anyone else have the same issues with tanks?? I never got my .3-.5 wraps to taste right. I've tasted good wraps on other's builds, so I know it's possible! Practice needed is all it might come down to??
Hi LisaL . . . I too love the iStick Basic, and yes the flavors of my favorite Ahl juices are definitely, um, "muddled" by this little subohm device.
That said, I still find them tasty enough, and just love the incredible battery life and form/function of that unit.
LLB's advice re: cooling the tank is good.
Hiya Penny! Glad to hear you're still vaping OK. I think it's hilarious that, NOW, your juices are TOO tasty!
I really should have put a qualifier in there. What I meant is that it's not subtle for Ahlusion. Since I vape more Ahlusion than anything else, my taste buds have acclimated to it. I still love a juice that screams flavor at me, but I definitely appreciate the quality of AHL, subtle as they may be.
