@Poeia , I've been wondering about the AOI, since you've mentioned it a couple of times. You even mentioned the great price for it at sweet-vapes and, yeah. I think maybe I'd like it, but I'm wondering how hot of a vape it is, since it isn't VV or VW. When I first started vaping, I felt like I needed more, more, more, but now I find that I hardly ever move up 3.2 or 3.3 volts, with 1.8 coils. Will it be too hot for me, or is it worth trying?
I wanted a stick mod to give my hands a change from the iStick. I have a bunch of eVods & eGos which I don't seem to use anymore.
It comes with a 0.6Ω coil. I put that in one and a 1.0Ω in the second.

The top of the mod gets hot after 3 or 4 long drags with both. I sometimes rest it against my face for a mini-heat therapy session. (It would take forever to do this to my whole face but my sinuses seem to like it.)

0.6Ω - very warm vapor. I got it at the end of May and went through 30ml of CPWT that I bought in December. Now I'm using it for 10ml of XPress Sweet Cherry Something from last July. You'd never know it's gone through almost 40ml. The draw is the same when I started.

1.0Ω - cool vapor. Really, really not warm. I don't know if that's why it produces less vapor or if it's because I'm using it for XPress Chocolate Bark from January and it's relatively thick. I don't think the coil will last as long with this juice. (It produces enough vapor. I'm not a cloud chaser.)

Positives:
  • Light as a feather
  • Great coil
  • Does not leak. I've stood it upright, laid it on it's side, turned it upside down.
  • Works as a passthrough when charging (important because you can't move the tank to a fresh battery.)
Negatives:
  • 1500mAh battery — I'm so spoiled. I remember when I did a happy dance for 1000 mAh.
  • Longish warm up — occasionally I think I have it turned off because nothing happens when I first push the button. It sometimes takes a few clicks to start.
  • Non-removable tank — cleaning it involves putting water in the tank, covering it with your thumb and shaking it, also Q-Tips. My solution is going to be use them for my must-have flavors so I never have to get every last drop of flavor out of it when I'm cleaning it.
  • Firing button — sticks out enough that you need to remember to turn it off when not in use (5 clicks, of course)
  • Spitting — it does spit hot liquid at my tongue from time to time.
The bottom line:
If the coil weren't so great and it weren't leakproof, I probably would have stayed with just 2 of them (and liked them a lot.) With those positives, I completed my set and will have all 5 colors.

Since some of my Ahlusion points were about to expire, I went ahead and placed another juice order yesterday (I have been vaping down my hoarded stock, and had not ordered anything in a while).

I got 4x60ml Saturday Morning and 1 60ml Lemon Vanilla Cake. :)

For my free sample I chose Kiwi Sea. I can't believe I've never tried this before, since it sounds so up my alley. Looking forward to a new Ahlusion experience!

Points expire?? Didn't know that. How do you know when they expire? Do they run by FIFO (first in, first out) or what?

I think Isticks and Pico's are great for those that do not want to invest in batteries and a charger. For long term though I would buy things that had replaceable batteries and so far my favs that I think you would also like are Joyetech VTC Mini's
$34.29 Authentic Joyetech eVic VTC Mini 60W TC VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod - 1-60W / 200-600'F(100-315'C) / 1*18650 / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
here for batteries
18650 Sony US18650VTC4 2100mAh High Discharge Flat Top - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers
and charger
Nitecore i4 Intellicharger Li-ion, NiMH/NiCd Charger - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers

DON't buy batteries at EBAY
I don't have one, but doesn't the Eleaf Pico use a replaceable 18650 battery?

I'll vouch for the Evic VTC Mini too. Gotta love that screen. Also recommend the Vape-Forward Vaporflask Lite that you can get for about $40 at Avail Vapor, which to me is an amazing value.

Nevermind. Figured it out. I can see that if you pile up points it could be a bit of a bother to figure out as time goes on. Hopefully they follow the FIFO method. If they go by LIFO, I'll find out in a couple of days I guess.

YOU ARE RIGHT..THE PICO DOES TAKE A BATTERY..APPTIGER..YOU HEAR THIS? Istick 40 watt and below do not.
Eleaf iStick 30W VV/ VW Box Mod
be careful with 20 watt because the threads are wonky and you must put adapter on right away and leave it on always (it comes with the adapter)

Thanks for the thorough review. I'm still on the fence, but the price is so good that I might have to give one a try and see what I think.

Ooooh. Shiny-itis. I've never heard of them before but I've been looking at video reviews. It looks great. I can't find anything about the weight -- is it light?

They do run by FIFO; Ahlusion sent me an email warning me that my first batch of points would expire "in four days."

They keep track, and provide ample warning. :)

No, it's not but it feels like quality - if that makes sense. Feels...well, "dense". Just scaled it:

146g w/o battery
192g w/Samsung 30Q

Compare that to the Evic VTC Mini:

119 w/o battery
164 w/Samsung 30Q

(Yeah, there's a gram lost in there somewhere.)

I thought that kidney shape might feel a little weird, but the Vaporflask Lite fits REALLY nicely in the hand - regardless of which way it's held, which hand is holding it or which digit is pressing the fire button. The screen is obviously smaller than the VTC Mini, but it's at least as readable as an iStick screen. The "active" large number (e.g. the temperature in TC mode) is considerably larger than the iStick's, but the smaller numbers (e.g. resistance in TC mode) are about the same size.

Only thing is I wish there was a silicone sleeve available for it. As it is, I'll probably assign it to home duty only. Too nice to let it get damaged.

Looks great with a Kayfun Mini v3 clone on it. I think Puff Zepplin posted a pic of a white one with a white Ego Mega V2 tank on it in the itty-bitty mods thread.

That's good to know. Thanks!

I almost ordered a single bottle just to use some points that I thought were expiring, then figured out how it works and that I had already used those points.

I think the word you were looking for is "solid" but "dense" made me smile.

I know I sound nuts with my constant questions about weight, but it's not arbitrary. I'm pretty strong but if I'm on the phone for half an hour I get shooting pains down the back of my hand. Something in the nerves back there. And I don't put my PV down between puffs. I play with it and don't even notice that it's still in my hand. Phil Busardo weighs things but, other than that, it's almost impossible to find the weights. Even the manufacturers' websites don't include it. (Fasttech includes it sometimes but sometimes it seems to be shipping weight.)

That's an ounce more than the eVic VTC so the question is if the ergo-dynamic shape would make up for it. I better wait until my EVC and iStick 60W comes to try and figure it out. Because PRETTY

Heh. I can live with "solid". I used "dense" because it feels heavy for it's size - compared to my other mods.

I've gotten used to the feel of the Evic VTC Mini, even though it doesn't have the curves of the iSticks or the Vaporflask Lite. With its silicone sleeve it's comfortable - and pocket-able - enough for me. Intend to buy another before I'm done. Best screen so far.

Wow the silver one is pretty nice. How is it with fingerprints?

Mine is white. Figured it was about time I had a white mod - not to mention I saw a pic of a dinged black one that looked like there was white primer under the black paint. :)

Oh - bummer. No silver at Avail.

My new equipment arrived. First up, I put a 1.0Ω coil in an AIO and loaded it with Car-Mal Mambo. Gold Member, which I loved, was described as "Just as good as our Car-Mal Mambo, but with a salted twist" so I had high hopes for this and it is good. I'm not a fan of malt, which they both have/had and I think the salt offset the malt better but I've only had a dozen or so puffs and I think it will grow on me.

The first of the Elite line are on the site. They're all "out of stock" but it looks like they will be $15 for 30ml.

Done. Got a Treebox, red eVic VTC with Cubis and a stainless iStick 60W with the teal and the navy covers. Toss in AIOs in the 3 colors I didn't have, two 18650s, a couple more Cubises and four packs of coils and I had to hold my breath while I clicked "submit."

Depending on which I like better, I'll double up on either the eVic or the iStick after testing them.

If the vapocalypse happens it will, of course, be horrible. But if it doesn't, this time will actually be a boon to vendors as we all rush to stock our bunkers.

I think you'll enjoy using all of them. Looking forward to hearing which you prefer. I might have to give an
AIO a try. I really like the new one coming out that has a built in tank and replaceable battery. I'm trying to stop buying mods though. I've got 30 VV/VW/TC mods that are battery replaceable. From Provaris to the iStick Pico. Then I've got about 40 mechanical mods. I bought a 26650 Timber for $10 a couple of months ago. I've got an Aerotank Giant on it with a 1.2 ohm VOCC coil in it and it's terrific. Now I'm looking for tanks that have rebuildable coils or an RTA that I like. Just got a Kayfun V3 and V5. I bought a lot of pre-built coils but I have a complete kit for making them myself.

Just got my second liter of 100mg nicotine. I'm vaping 3mg now. Plan to cut it to 2mg when I have to start mixing my own. So I think 2 liters will last a long time.

What I'm worried about is that the USPS will stop shipping e-juice. That's what they did with cigarettes to stop us from buying them out of state.

Since some of my Ahlusion points were about to expire, I went ahead and placed another juice order yesterday (I have been vaping down my hoarded stock, and had not ordered anything in a while).

I got 4x60ml Saturday Morning and 1 60ml Lemon Vanilla Cake. :)

You'll love Kiwi Sea! I just ordered today. I'm out of Cheehu Cocktail and Lime Cream. :( Also grabbed 2 60s of Pineapple Cream and Pina Colada.

I did notice that it's now cheaper to buy a 60ml than 2 30mls! I'm really glad they fixed it since I don't have to order so many bottles.

I don't think you would go wrong with an eleaf Pico or two (I have 3), and Evic VTC mini (or Vtwo mini, i have 2 VTCs, no Vtwo). I also still use T3s protanks and evods. .

For a tank, I am sure you will lots of great suggestions, more than my experience. I resisted Kayfuns for so long, until I was PIFed one by a very generous ECFer. Haven't looked back. Yes I have other tanks I like, but for reliability, flavor and ease of use, they are my real go tos. I have several "models", all clones (the Lite V2s and nanos are EHPro, but others are Fasttech clones). I find them easy to build, too. V3 minis, 4s, and 5s are all top fill.

JMHO....

I really like the iStick Pico. I've got 2 of them and the size is really nice. But the 60W is still my favorite. There's just something about the shape that makes it so comfortable to hold. It feels lighter than the Pico, too.

I'm still working on getting the wicking right on my Kayfuns. My first one was perfect but it must've been beginners luck. o_O

It's going to be a little while. I have to read the manuals and I'm not in the mood. But the iStick does have a comfortable shape.

The ban on shipping cigarettes was to keep us from evading local taxes. (Living in NYC, I did buy from KY and VA for about a year.) Right now there are no taxes on e-liquid so it's not a problem. At some point it will be.
