Back home in Georgia after packing up and clearing out moms house. Although the thought crossed my mind a few times while in CA of keeping my moms house I dismissed it pretty quickly. Houses in CA are expensive and I would have to buy out my daughter who was left 40% of the estate which includes the house. Not until the last few days I was there and I started to envision locking the doors and walking away from the house that has been home for 57 years did I begin to consider keeping it. I just do not think I could have walked away without trying. To the loan company I went. Had to shop around a bit. I was pretty scared about carrying a mortgage again because I have been mortgage less for a few years and hey I am 57, but I did apply for one and locked in last week at 3.875. I am borrowing 150k and throwing in all the cash I can scrap up to pay my daughter the $334k she has coming and then I will be the proud owner of my family home in the town I grew up in. I hope to be relocated to Burbank CA by spring next year. :rickroll::rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:
My five year plan is to sit still and not spend any money and then if my body permits at 62 I will sell and move to the beach.
The next month, December this year, I have planned for this pesky knee replacement surgery. SCARED. No happy dancing people to follow that thought:eek:

It is life changing LLB and something I always dreamed of. Going back home. You know, you kind of think about it but go on with life and next thing you know you are more settled then you wanted to be and then you are torn. Torn because I raised my daughter here and then I raised her son here. I have always been torn. Georgia is a nice place but never felt like home. My best friends are there and those bonds are still so strong. My dad is in Northern CA so I can drive and see him. It just feels right!
Thanks for the encouragement!

Chanel, follow your heart. It is telling you to go home - where you feel at home. I wish you the best, you want it, you will do it. You have accomplished many wonderful things in your life, you can do this. Go girl!
Thanks C!

Good luck. Does your daughter require immediate, full payment of her 40%? I don't know what her financial situation is but maybe she would take half and the rest in installments. And don't forget, when you sell your house in GA, you will get money.

Everyone I know who got a new knee was delighted by the result! :thumb:

BIG changes. I know how you feel about home, though. I love that you decided to buy it. My parents' house on Long Island...they've been there (just my mother now) since 1960. She may just end up selling it, since it's a lot of house for one person.
Oh hey! I finally have just enough hair to ditch the wigs! Can't wait to see the look on my daughters' faces when they come in for Thanksgiving lol. Getting toward the end of radiation, and so far not too bad.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. You all have been missed and I hope this finds you well. Placed a big order today and did not realize that I had been away for so long. I am ok, trying to process the possibility that I need a second back surgery, so not quite happy about that. The breast cancer looks gone and I will have first post surgical mamo in January, so much smiling there.

I am sure much has happened in last few months, I will attempt to catch up but may not get through it all. Good to see some familiar faces here.

Oh. YEAH for hair and going home....

Hi Shari, and I hope you had a splendid Thanksgiving as well! GREAT news on the complete remission but I can't like the part about the back! Sounds terrible. Darnit, and that reminds me that we haven't heard from Rebecca in quite awhile either, I hope SHE is doing well. Very happy to hear that at least the BIG scare is gone... and.. HAIR! :)

It's been REALLY quiet around here lately. I watch this thread like a hawk. :) I love everyone here so much. Hey everyone, check in and tell us how you're doing? I'm vaping a little Fort Custard myself right now.. :)

I am going to stock up on some favs including Kiwi Sea, new to my fav list Sweet Strawberry and I am going to try completely new to me Pina Colada because I love AHL's coconut

Hi Coco! How are things going in your new home? I just checked, and I find I have never tried their Pina Colada?!? What the heck? I love their coconut too. JUST when I think I don't need anything... ;)

The Queen used to mix Sweet Strawberry with Chocolate Cream for her own take on Strawberry Midnight. I liked hers better too! :)

It seems to be way beyond quiet on ECF for me today. Several of the threads and people I used to converse with do not seem to be around. Maybe just the Holidays.

Here's a picture for you: Me, little (but fat) old lady on her brand new red mobility scooter racing around at 4mph at a Christmas craft fair. I did not total out the scooter yet and no dead or injured. But it definitely is not the red corvette that I always imagined myself tooling around in. lol

And yeah for great tests! I think it is the vaping for me. My tests are great too. Even after 46 years of smoking; 3+ years of vaping. My cardiologist recommends vaping to his smoking patients. I told him to recommend Ahlusion for eliquid and gave him a couple of their business cards.
