I got my wife a ego aio a while back. She wasn't a big fan & it's spent the vast majority of its life in a cabinet. I remember reading about using a cubis coil giving it more airflow. I have plenty of devices but got to thinking about using it for portability & did some reading up on it yesterday. I saw a post here on ecf about removing the chimney for better performance then saw the same thing on YouTube. Well it worked but I feel like it's not giving very thick vapor & am running it a little closed. I'm thinking the lower resistance of a .5 coil might help with that. Can anyone confirm this? I'm used to more airy tanks and box mods so I know this won't be like that. I don't want it for chucking clouds and burning through juice anyways. Just looking for something I can use on the go & not worry about spills.

I have used the .5, .6, 1.0 and 1.5(clapton). I honestly don't think there is much different in airflow between any of them. The lower .5 and .6 use significantly more liquid and battery life.

I prefer the .6 for flavor but mostly use the 1.0 just because of battery life.

Curious. How would you remove the chimney. Is that even possible?

Unscrew the coil and pull the cap off with needle nose pliers explained in YouTube video by heathen. I wouldn't call it a chimney but that's what it was referred to as either in that video or the post I read. Here's a picture

The flavor is good I'd like to figure out how to get it thicker though.

I'm a DL vaper. I bought an aio for the portability and have used the 0.6 and 0.5 coils. The stock 0.6 coils are strictly Mtl but the 0.5 is much better airflow wise. Much easier drag, like a restricted lung hit, and more vapor. Although definitely not sub ohm dripper levels of vapor, it's a respectable amount. You do give up a little on flavor with the 0.5. When I bought new coils, I bought all 0.5. I can't deal with the tight draw of the stock coils. Be warned though, the 0.5 coils eat up the juice

Hope this helps
