So I got my new Aios clone, set it up with cable/mesh hybrid wick, 1 ohm coil, everything is relatively happy. No leaking, no dry hits, no hotspots.

However, the throat hit is horrible. I assume it's related to the coil being so far away from the air holes. Have any of you found a way to reduce it?

Thanks!

im a TH fanatic so i prefer the big time TH from the aios. however, i have found that adjusting your draw (mouth-to lung instead of direct lung; slower as opposed to harder drawing) does affect TH. but im usre youve experimented around already with different draws.

there is another idea dwcraig came up with as well (in the aios clone thread). instead of using mesh and cable (which is my particular setup currently), you can use what dwcraig has done and thats a mesh wich leading to a coil wrapped on cotton. the cotton gets fed by the wick. this allows the coil to be placed slightly off-center and closer to the holes.

another build i heard about recently was pure ekowool. the person described a figure 8 hoop that placed a loop of eko up against the tank hole for feeding. in my mind, i took it one step further and imagined a long-legged micro coil directly behing the air holes with a hoop/strands of eko touching the tank hole. i plan to try that. if it doesnt work, im fairly positive a long legged coil would work smashingly at least in dripper mode.
