Do you all know how to double inhale? You basically take a normal drag, and then instead of exhaling, you hold it and take in another deep breath (of air this time). When you exhale, almost no vapor will come out, unless you're using some juice with ridiculous vapor production. I don't make a habit of it, but it could come in handy if one were forced to stealth vape in their seat.

I didn't read the whole thread but, I thought I'd relate my experience. I've never had a problem vaping openly in airports. I have done it in Charlotte, Detroit, Atlanta, Denver and Las Vegas.

As for carrying on, I put my carry on juice in a quart zip lock bag just like any other liquid. I carry on all my Li-Ion batteries. I'm a little leery of carrying on one of my more expensive mods. It probably wouldn't be a problem but, I'd hate to lose a nice one to a stupid overzealous TSA employee. So, I carry on egos and ego chargers. Anything else I take goes in checked luggage. I have been questioned about it exactly once. The lady at the x-ray machine held it up and asked what is this? I told her it was an e-cigarette. She nodded and put it back in the bin.

On the plane, it's not allowed but, in my experience, no one really cares if you're discrete. I've snuck hits on every plane I've been on. Just hold it in for a bit and there won't be any vapor. I even did it when I had a pilot deadheading next to me. If you do this and have a problem, it's still on you. I'm just telling you my experience.

Order a cup of hot coffee or soda with ice... pretending to sip, exhale onto the top of liquid.

First I'm the volunteer President of the board of directors of a community health centre in Toronto Canada for Aboriginal people Home (yes I have a day job - I'm a project and infrastructure specialist). The most popular misconception about our pipes is that they are for making peace. In fact our pipes are for prayer. Creator gave us 4 sacred medicines: sage, sweetgrass, cedar and tobacco. The smoking of tobacco is for prayer. When we smoke our prayers are carried to Creator in the smoke of the tobacco. Pipes are given (at least mine was) as result of prayer and guidance from a traditional person / medicine person. Being a Pipe Carrier brings the responsibility of being available to other Aboriginal people who seek help or guidance on any range of issues. Most pipes are made from the stone taken from a quarry in, yes, Pipestone Minnesota, some can be very ornate and beautifully crafted or very plain and simple as is mine. Some are very old and have been passed down and are very important to our people and are very powerful. Pipes that are used in a spiritual fashion (I've seen pipes for sale on the net) are "activated" in ceremony. I hope that I've been able to properly respond to your question. Anything else please feel free to ask and will respond if I have the knowledge, if I don't I'll ask others.
I am Mêskwananihsi it is my spirit name it means Red Tail Hawk.

Thank you for this explanation. When I lived in Wyoming I first learned of this quarry from a friend. You are blessed to have a spiritual leader/medicine man for guidance.

I vape in airports and on planes everytime - in stealth mode of course, no point inviting trouble.

I vape openly in shopping malls and pretty much everywhere else. The only exception I make is not to vape in schools or hospitals.

No real trouble so far. None with security anyway - and I'm typically carrying a lava tube plus a USB 5v passthru... along with between 4 and 6 18650's loose plus 2 more battery boxes each one containing 4 more 18650's. I only take a 30ml bottle of juice in carry-on - the real juice supply is checked-in.

That's not true so beware. I have a friend who is a flight attendant and people occasionally set them off using spray deodorant in the bathrooms on planes and they will open the door if it goes off... Vaping on all planes I've been on is strictly prohibited. That having been said, I've definitely stealthed on long international flights (very stealth) while in my seat when everyone is sleeping.
I'm a flight attendant and I've had a flight where spray deodorant set off the smoke detector in the lav.

Of course the other issue that we're dealing with here is that spray deodorant has heavy molecules in it similar to smoke, and that would likely be what sets off the alarm. I don't know much about the ins and outs of smoke alarms, but it wouldn't make much sense to put one in a bathroom that is sensitive to vapor, considering that there is a hot-water tap in there.

The water temp on aircraft is limited so it can't burn people so it's never hot enough to steam up.

On my first domestic business trip since I started vaping, 2 weeks ago. well here I am in the new Winnipeg airport waiting for my flight back to Toronto. I was early at the airport had a coffee outside the security vapid there without an issue. When I came through security had a conversation with the security personnel who were supportive and asked how it worked so I demonstrated. They were completely comfortable with it (We Canadians we're so polite...LOL). At the gate I've been vaping without issue at all. Have not nor will I push the issue on board the aircraft.
