I haven't had the need to fly for quite a few years and will be flying to CA this week. I could use a little advice:

1. Can I put my 901 and/or screwdriver and a 10ml bottle of liquid in the little basket when I go through security without it being confiscated? If that is risky, please advise how I should handle the security check-point - put it in the carry-on? I will probably be flying Delta.

2. Did you show the flight attendants your electronic vaporizer and were they fine with it? Did you use it on the plane from your seat.

3. If you used it in the lavatory did it set off the smoke detectors?

4. Did you end up in Gitmo and waterboarded until you confessed to being addicted to nicotine and funny looking gadgets?

Thanks for your advice!

I know that you cant have the liquid on your carry on. That is something that would have to be put in your luggage. I recommend filling a couple of cartridges (depending on the flight time) and keeping it in your carry on bag along with your 901. Try not to keep it in your pockets though. It would obviously be best if you can just proceed through security without having to explain what it is but if they do begin to question you then just give an explanation and a brief demonstration. That's what a friend of mine had to do a few months back. The worst they can do is not allow you to take it on the flight but I don't see why they would do that. If that was to happen perhaps they'll let you put it in your luggage before boarding the plane. They sometimes do that for you if they're nice.

You can DEFINITELY smoke without having the detectors go off. I do it everyday. hehe love this thing.

I actually saw a few posts about peoples experiences with them on planes if I can find them I'll post them up for you.

Good luck!

I just got back from a trip to North Carolina, and I had no problems flying there and back with my stash of supplies.

You are allowed to carry on liquid so long as you put it in a quart-sized plastic ziplock baggie to send it through the airport screening. The bottles cannot be more than 3 ounces, but you can carry several 3 oz bottles with you so long as it all fits into ONE QUART-SIZED BAGGIE.

The liquid was placed in my baggie--along with my toothpaste, moisturizer, and liquid makeup--and that went into one of the large plastic bins along with my coat. My purse went into a separate bin, and contained within my purse were several e-cigs. I had a couple of component parts in my purse, but the chargers and most of my extra hardware was in my carry-on luggage.

None of it cause even a moment's worry.

I even vaped at the airport (discretely, of course). I flew American Airlines, and they have a policy prohibiting use of electronic cigarettes on the plane. (I know because I saw it online, but they never made an announcement specifically mentioning e-cigs.) However, I was sitting all by myself, and I took an occasional puff, holding in the vapor so that my exhale wasn't noticeable. If anyone had said anything, I would have quickly put it up and pleaded ignorance. :) Honestly, though, you couldn't really tell what I was doing.

I would not have asked to puff on the airplane. And I would not have vaped had I not been able to do so incredibly discretely. No way would I draw any attention to myself.

The only comment I got the entire time was while I was waiting at the gate for the plane, some guy asked me what in the world I was doing with my pen. :)

Thanks Julie and Vaporpuff. So just put a couple of my 10 ml bottles in a zip lock baggie and put them in the bin with my keys, change, etc. Put my 901 & screwdriver in my briefcase and put that through the detector and I should have no trouble with security, right?

Exactly. :) I'd add toothpaste and maybe another "familiar" liquid or lotion to go in the baggie so that they probably won't look twice.
